Sam has been testing out a focal reducer (speedbooster) by Pixco to adapt his vintage Pentax lenses to his GH5 and seeing whether it's suitable for client work.

I purchased a 135mm f/2.8 Vivitar lens for $11 (Yes - eleven U/S. Dollars!) which works great on my Sony APSC (A6400 and A6600) cameras with a 0.7X Kipon Speed booster which provides about a 141.5mm focal length with an aperture of about f/2 or there abouts...

Great video, one note, the softening on the edges is more because of the focal reducer, those vintage lenses are sharper on the edges on a real full frame camera.

Thanks for a very interesting video. I was interested to see how well the 28mm worked. I echo your thoughts on cheap legacy lenses. I have a collection ( a far too big one!) of old glass, sometimes only paying £15 or less for a lovely lens and will get one of the Pixco adapters soon to try out.

I have the zhongyi focal reducer not your pixco but in my experience the flare and the vignetting goes to the extreme not the same with my metabones which seems to enhance the performance of whatever lens you put on it
