Love this type of video brief and to-the-point
Best to suggest ALWAYS remove the FILL plug FIRST. You'd hate to have drained all your fluid just to find out the fill plug is stripped or you're just not able to break it lose... Goes for differentials as well.
Amsoil?? Naturally!!!!
I already took the fill plug out before I have previous videos on this but either way stripped or not i would get it out. Not a stripped bolt I haven’t been able to remove yet 😎
On a roll with them uploads!
Good idea with the funnel trick.
Thanks x20 I'm going to do it next weekend
The best! Contact me for your Amsoil needs lol 😂
Was simple. On my s14 I'd just pull the shifter and fill thru there
Top loaders are nice for that reason
@@sinformant o yeah definitely. I could pull the motor and trans out in 45 min. Was easier to pull it all then just drop the trans when I'd have to do clutch work or upgrades.
Why does the trans have all that sealer on there was it leaking ?
Always loosen fill bolt first
Does the tranny drain plug have a crush washer like oil pan has?
Amsoil is the best😎
On the d17, you can fill it by pulling the reverse sensor on the top of the trans and dumping 2 quarts in. I'm sure the k series trans would be the same way.
Yes its the same way but when doing it from the side it gives you a perfect indicator of if its full or not. This method works the best as far as good results go. The speed sensor one is what i use to use for many many years but sometimes i would under fill and or over fill lol
😢I only use Honda mtf when it comes to Honda
I wouldn’t recommend this if it wasn’t good as if not better than oem Honda. I love oem Honda and it’s good but honestly like this amsoil a bit better in my personal experience this stuff actually fixed a synchro issue I had and the Honda oem didn’t fix it. Idk what is so different but this stuff cleared my issue up and been stuck since then.
@@TexasHondaChannel I was actually going to try this. Maybe next year.
@@yangli2014 I recommend it for sure. Again there is nothing wrong with oem Honda fluid. When it comes to automatic Honda I would stay OEM at all costs.
@@TexasHondaChannel have you tried the royal purple one?
@@yangli2014 I will not use royal purple. I have had a lot of friends use it in their Hondas and their engines blow shortly after the oil change I don’t find it as a coincidence either because their engines were perfectly fine mechanically but the Internet told them they need royal purple and for whatever reason it wasn’t compatible with Honda rod bearings and I thought maybe it’s just an isolated incident but when more and more people kept using royal purple and their engines kept blowing or having issues that put me off of it forever I don’t want anything to do with royal purple I will not recommend royal purple to anybody and it’s expensive and over hyped. Personally I’d rather run super tech from Walmart over royal purple because super tech has been proven by project farm to be very good oil and I’ve used it for many years in turbo applications and never had an issue plus it’s cheap. I know it sounds crazy to choose super tech oil from Walmart over royal purple but that’s just from my personal experience what I would do.
