Thank you for the tutorial. In a week I will be 80 . The jacket took me some time but I’m pleased with what I’ve accomplished. Your video was an excellent help.
I loved the sew along and made a jacket which came out really nice. I liked the calm, step by step, clear instructions and no music or distractions. I'll make another one for sure. Yes, I see the other comments on people liking the piping/binding and I agree that it really makes the jacket look professional and clean. Thanks again for the nice tutorial>
Mr. Norris thank you thank you very much, I really enjoyed this video and I picked up some sewing ideas like the piping, I never thought about that, I like buying sweatshirts and making a jacket and now I can try putting piping on it, thank you, be blessed.
Just finished this one, it came out great!! Thank you for posing this video, with your guidance I didn't run into any trouble. You truly did an amazing job drafting this design, it is very efficient and doesnt waste fabric. Outstanding work Norris!
I got this along every single pattern you were on from my local Joann’s on Black Friday. Excited to work on this pattern soon.. Oh, and you and your wife are dope!
Norris! I like this. I don't know how I missed this. Been looking for pattern to make for husband. Going to get this. Also. What about if I want to line? Should I just not do the facings and cut the pieces from the front of the jacket?
What height is this pattern designed for? There is only ONE lengthen or shorten line on the sleeve (I’m not doing the pant). I’m sewing for 6’7” guy. How would I alter this pattern to keep the design of the jacket? It’s a cute outfit but this is giving me a headache trying to alter. I know if you have more than 2” it needs to be distributed in thirds. But where? Any help appreciated.
I’m glad I found you all., this is a game changer for me. Also, even though I’m intermediate, I have a bit of sewing history, however I’m starting the trial course as a beginner, and will take, if not one perhaps two courses for men and women. Anyway, my curiosity and question is about the cuffs for this jacket. I notice you informed stitching of course, but you also suggested serging it. I know I could stitch inside the cuff by holding in the top with the foot inside as I stitch around, but to serge, it seems too narrow to fit without problems. So with that extra seam allowance you don’t see once the cuff is turned back in, do you trim it down or what else would you do or suggest? That’s why i will be taking you all’s courses, no doubt. Peace!
I would like to thank you for your detailed instructions. This project would have taken a lot longer to complete..Big thank you for the idea of putting the piping in the jacket ❤..
I have made 3 of these and the same thing happens to me with the collar. It always appears to be to small to stretch the collar that I cut from the pattern and therefore lining up the notches it does not go to the front of the jacket. I always seems to small. What am I doing wrong?
This video is helpful. It does feel like it could be shortened and cleaned up alot. It fells like you are just running the camera on record, and doing the project outloud - then editing it later.. just write a script! Then break it down by steps/chapters along the way. It would be so much easier than all of the edits you had to do. This is also coming from someone who records people reading scripts all day and watched it ALOT. Nevertheless thank you man!

You shouldn’t have problems serging the cuff seam just have to manage your fabric as you sew.

Nice
Where to get the pdf, the shipping cost are 25$!!!
Just go to simplicity.com and search the pattern beans w/ pattern number & you should see both options.
@@NorrisDantaFord no pdf option this is why I’m asking thanks for responding I need the pattern 🙏🏼
@@nordine4392 okay. That makes sense. Let me ask about this & I’ll get back to you. 🙏🏽
@@NorrisDantaFord Hi, any news?
I went on patterns and plains to order the pattern shipping is only 6,95€ instead of 25$ on simplicity web site
5/8 of an inch seam allowance
Great explanation especially for the zipper and for how to attach the facing! The instructions in the pattern weren't that clear!
Hi Norris, my name is Hakeem who owns a luxury clothing line expected to launch this yea; how may I contact you for business inquiry’s?
Going to drop the button down sew along?
