Joy, thank you not only for this wonderful demo, but for NOT up-speaking. It's refreshing to hear a normal narration.
Finally I found a video that I can actually understand! Thank you!
love the fact that u can choose the kind of stitch u want with these kind of easy tutorials. I have a very sensitive skin because of an autoimmune disease and normally pants stitches causes a painful itch. now I don't have that problem anymore because I can choose a thinner and softer. tread.
Hi. We have the same problem with sewing stitches. I hope you read this as it is an old video. Joy
You made this very simple to follow and quite enjoyable. I will get busy now thanks to your tutorial.
I LOVE ❤ how the waistband is part of the patten.
Greetings! GREAT TUTORIAL!!! I feel confident that I can make my first pair. Thanks so much for sharing!!!
Very clear instruction, thank you!
+MsHe1en Thanks for your feedback!
Wonderful!! It looks and seems SO easy.
THIS is a good beginner's pattern and a great first tutorial video. So much better than that skirt we made in school, and very few seamstresses ever wore again.
Best pattern and super easy with this tutorial to inspire my grandboys!
Wow, it's so beautiful
Very nice tutorial
Wow love the blind foot idea it worked great thanks 😊
Ok I l I've this pattern! Here is a few ideas to try. I Mark a letter b on the back. So you know that's the back after seeing the legs together. The other thing I do is iron the hem and waist before see anything. By doing this. After all you have to is cold and sew. I also use French seams for all.
Thank you for this tutorial. No other tutorials tell you how much elastic to use! I am a very beginner and need very detailed instructions, and it helps to know why I am doing it that way so that I can understand it better. Thank you. Will go get this pattern and try today!
Thank you amazingly clear tutorial.
This is a great tutorial, thank you
I prefer to cut my notches so they extend away from the body of the fabric, rather than into the seam allowance. I also like to top stitch very close (1/16") to the top edge of the elastic casing before inserting the elastic. It seems to help keep the elastic from twisting inside the casing. I really like this pattern! It just needs some pockets, which can be put on as patch pockets where the side seam normally would be.
Love the fabric that you are using. Pleasr let me know if it is a 100% Cotton fabric or some other combination? Thank you.
This is a terrific video. Thanks so much!
Great Tutorial, making Xmas gifts. Thanks for sharing.
thanjk you so much
Love this tutorial and I will look for this pattern but what if I need a XXL. Can I adjust the pattern adding an inch or so?
now that was nice and EZ...thank you
love this, looking forward to sewing my first pant.
Thanks. I may come back to this.
love the yellow!
I loved your tutorial , very nicely done.
Really liked this, wanted to make a pair right away!
thank you. I just bought this pattern. This will be very helpful.
I always wondered how they make pants fit smoothly on front (no bum) and back (where your bum sticks out), and this video really clears that up for me when she folded over the first leg!
I’m glad you said that! I went back and rewatched that part, and now I get it, too!
you made my day.. thanks so much
🤩🤩🤩
was very helpful. I only wish that she showed where she was at on the pattern's directions during each step; only because this is a beginner pattern and it will help beginners to learn how to read patterns
I am sure I can do this now TFS
Is there a plus size pattern? I would like to make a few for residents I visit in a nursing home. Sized 1x, 3x, 5x.
Have the pattern but was curious to find out what fabric you used here? Thanks for the great instructions
Patterns usually have suggestions on what fabrics the pattern is made for, and how much is needed, so you can check the outside of the envelope for that info before you buy. Note that it has been decades since I looked at/used a pattern, but I assume that those printed recently have the same helpful info.
But I have 4 pieces, How does that even work? Simplicity makes it so hard!!
This is very easy! Is there a way to alter it to make it bigger?
Cute 😌 thank !
When sewing the two pant legs together mine don't seem to match up and I don't know what I did wrong?
Can you tell me if these patterns are available on Amazon
Oo! I can do this!
Can the pattern be used more than once?
Great tutorial but it would be great if you could describe how to set up the fabric before you place the pattern on. I’m a real novice and didn’t realize you needed right sides together even tho I read it 10 times !! 🙄
Why wouldn’t the inside seam allowances get serged or over-stitched?
😍😍😍
can this pattern be used to make regular pants or trousers
How do you narrow the pants to have a better fit? Mine are way to wide and baggy
How would one go about making it so that the twill was a functional drawstring instead of just a decoration
How can order the sheet measurements pattern
I’m a bit confused as to why there are marks (from XS to XL) denoting “WAISTLINE” approximately 2 3/4” from the top of each pattern size, when the waistband is only folded 1 1/8” from the top of the pants. Can anyone explain this to me?
So when I put the legs inside each other the notches are the wrong way round. Why would that be?
Before I buy, I would like to know if these are high-waisted. Thank you.
can you buy this pattern on amazon? if so what is it called? Thanks for the very clear instructions!
Korah Thompson Yes, you can buy this pattern on Amazon. It is called Simplicity Pattern 8022.
can this pattern be used to make regular pants
Where do you get this pattern?? I've searched online and can't find it :0(
@Hibiscus Syriacus I have looked on Amazon and can't find it...I have put in the pattern number. Also on Simplicity website :0-
This pattern is not available anywhere.
What's the fabric name
What is best fabric to use please?
Fabric suggestions will be listed on the back of the pattern envelope.
For some reason I have a three notch matching with a two notch and the same on the other side as I slid my leg into the other... help!
Camille Raciopio one is supposed to be inside out and the other right side in
I have the same problem. When i slip them inside of each other the front matches up with the back. Im very confused
I just wanted to point out the sizing on the actual pattern and the sizing on the back of the package are different, the sizing on the actual package is correct, the hip sizing on the pattern is not. I just put 60 bucks down the drain. other than that it's a good pattern.
Good tutorial. But you did not finish your seams
Is that the new Singer you're using?

Could I use linen and wear as summer pants
can a serger be used?
Oh, yes, cause I have serged many a pair.
I thought the elastic needed to be smaller than your waist and not bigger.
Me too
Can I make these using fleece fabric?
Yes. I used fleece to make 3 pair. Turned out nice.
