Hey thanks for the vid..just a lil tip I've been using to save money on cartridges, just refill the cartridge while it is still in the printer, just remove the plug and stick the needle down in there and press the plunger, the machine just prints as usual. Also a easier way to fill the plunger, I pour the ink in lil shot glasses or Dixie cups then angle the needle so much easier for me. Also I got my cartridges off Etsy with the chips on them been using same cartridges since 2020, for both my Epson 2720 and WF 7720
@latorshiatarpley so you’ve never had to actually remove those cartridges since you’ve put them in… & you’ve only had to mess with their chips one time? If that’s correct, have you never ran into any type of malfunction or machine not reading the chip?

Was a great video. Was so glad to see that you can change a 7820 Epson to do sublimation. Just can't buy a new printer to do that. But understand the limitation this one has. I don't think you really said if after you take the chip off the regular cartridge to put on the sublimation cartridges, can it be put back on the regular cartridges to use again? Great setup tutorial! Looking forward to tomorrow to see how your pictures sublimate. It is definitely more work than the Ecotank to set up and refill. I can’t believe it is slower; I would have thought bigger printer, faster printer.
I agree! I thought it would have been much faster. Maybe I need to find that setting to try high speed. I read somewhere that you can do fast printing even for sublimation presets.
How is this printer holding up? Is it what you expect? And the big question can you refill the cartridges midway use before the chip registers low so you don't have to replace it? All of your tutorials are amazing! Thank you!
Thank you. In my opinion, this printer literally drinks the ink. It’s nothing like an EcoTank and I would not encourage you to purchase this if you can get an EcoTank.
@CraftingwithDelonda Thank you so much for the response. I have asked this question a few times in other groups and don't get much response. I already bought an Ecotank But was second guessing because I would really like a wide format. I think I will just start small. Thanks again 😊

I am really no help when it comes to this printer. I stopped using this printer shortly after converting it. You might want to check into this Content creator called honestly spinking. She seems to know about this one. I haven't purchased anything from her.
At 26:00 you mentioned that the cartridges are one use only. Could you not just leave them in place, remove the fill plug again, and top them before the level detector gets signalled that they are depleted? Thank you for the video. When you do your next set of cartridges, please leave the chip receiver on the cartridge attached the whole time, so your fingers are far away from risk of being sliced. I was flinching a bit watching you, wondering why the clip on receiver had to come off.
Hi Art, you have really great questions! When I purchased this printer and converted it, it was my understanding that the cartridges were one time use and I would need to purchase more cartridges as the refill would not be detected. I have heard that you can reset them now but I have not tried. This printer literally drinks the ink and I ended up purchasing the Epson ET 15000.
Bit confused here. At 6:39, you attempted to put the chip into position with the FIVE contacts up, which is upside down to your original demonstration. Would it have worked if not backwards? Or are the location bits still incorrect for this procedure?
At the time that I recorded this video, there was no way to reset the chips. So, even if I refilled the cartridges, the printer would not recognize they were filled.

Inkxpro remanufactured empty ink cartridges replacement for Epson 812 xl for Epson workforce pro WF 7840 and WF 7820 for sublimation printers. Is this the right cartridge for this application
Hello Delonda. I just found this video and really love your presentation. I have the 7840 printer and did convert it for sublimation. I used the original chips that came attached to the cartridges purchased with the printer itself and set aside the chips that came with the replacement cartridges. The original chips are now registering low ink and I need to use the chips that came with the replacement cartridges but when I do so, they are read with an x not allowing me to print. Have you gotten to that point where you need to used the chips that came with those replacement cartridges? If so, what did you do to get passed this part?
Hi there, I didn't get to that point. In my opinion, the ink foes so fast in this printer and after I realized that I stopped using it. It is sitting on the floor in a corner. Check out this channel called Honestly Spinking. She provides a lot of information about workforce printers that you might find helpful.
@@CraftingwithDelonda I think you’re right. The chips I purchased do not work but it’s because of the firmware update or the position of the chips after modifying the replacement cartridge to get the original Epson chip to fit. That is at least what Honestly SpinKing suggested it may be. Thank you for getting back to me such a quick response. It’s truly appreciated.
You have to buy more chips before it works again…. You can’t reset the chip for this printer like previous models. Every time you are out of ink you have to buy new chips
Thank you so kindly for the tutorial. I have everything except for the cartridge, it's on the way and I can't wait to do my 1st sublimation t-shirt. My question is where are the instructions online convertering the epson 7820, because, I would like to have it on hand for future reference?
I am having trouble. I feel i missed a step.......I go to print and you can barely see the image. i try test page and same thing barely anything on the paper. like a couple very small dots
Hi Ashley, I'm sorry it isn't working out. Things to try...remove the air hole covers, also make sure your chips are completely flat against the replacement cartridge.
Thanks for such a great video, I have a question you said when the ink runs out you will have to get new cartridges will I use the same chip Thanks for shareing
I am not sure. I am definitely a true beginner when it comes to this printer. I have used it a few times and I have since purchased an Epson ET 15000 to use for larger images.
Thank you so much for this video! It was super helpful. I am just about to try to set mine up! This may be a dumb question but do you reuse the syringes to refill the cartridges or do you need new ones every time?
When they go empty, do you have to buy new chips? I was about to buy some cartridges but I have doubts about the chip. Can you continue to use the same ones?
Jaime, I would no longer recommend this printer because it seems to literally drink the ink. However, if you plan to keep it, check out honestly spinking. I think she sells chip resetters.
@@CraftingwithDelonda thanks!! I also have the ecotank 2760 but that one limits me to 8.5x11,,, I have use the 7820 only for regular prints and yes it does drink the ink 😩
Hey that’s amazing video, thank you so much. I have just a question, when my ink is done, I have to buy another cartridge empty? Or can I just fill with ink? Please help with that. Thank you once again
At the time when I converted this printer, it was my understanding that you had to purchase new cartridges every time. However, I never let the ink run out and I stopped using this printer because I feel like it drinks the ink. If you are able to get an EcoTank I highly suggest it.
Wow, I've never had to do this with my 7720 as far as the chip change out. It died and I'm thinking of this one but I don't want to go through adding the chip to the cartridge 🤦🏾♀️... how often are you doing this? Thanks for the detailed video❤️
Thank you so much for the tutorial. I have a few questions…. As for The one time use ink cartridges you think cartridges could you just refill it halfway through so the ink doesn’t totally run out? Also as for the ink cartridges did you order the exact model number 7820 or did you order the one that fits the 7710, 7720, 7610, 7620? The reason I am asking because I can not find the exact 7820 empty cartridge
Hi there! It's my understanding that there is someone who sells chip resetters. I personally have not tried it but you might want to look into it. Her channel is Honestly Spinking. I purchased my cartridges from Ebay and the description says T812xl Refillable Cartridge set for Epson WF-7820, WF-7840 (no chip)
Thank you so much for the detailed video on how to setup a WF7820 for sublimation. Its a great alternative for larger sublimation since it's impossible to find the large print ecotanks as well as an affordable solution. So, I understand you have to buy new replacement cartridges and new ink with syringes. Do you re-use the chips from the original cartridges or do you have to buy new regular ink cartridges each time as well to use the chips?
Thank you so much ❤️. You will need new cartridges each time because they haven't made any that can be reset just yet. I haven't had any problems with it at all, but I've heard that many people have. I do think if you can afford the Epson 15000, it's probably a better deal on the long run.
Hold up. I was just about to post saying how I went through this whole process only for it not to work - but I did this using the cartridges that came with the printer, after those cartridges had been used up. It had not occurred to me that the chips on the cartridges were keeping track of the ink being used, and would alert the printer that the ink was all used up. However buying cartridges, removing the chips to attach them to different cartridges seems wasteful (and very expensive). What did you do with the cartridges that you removed the chips from?
Good morning I have the wf7840 and this is my second time changing the chips. Now the printer isn't recognizing the cartridge do anyone know how to fix this?
Hey it’s been a month for you now right? Did you ever figure out how to bypass the printer saying it isn’t recognizing the cartridge? Because I was reading about Work force printers for sublimation vs. EcoTanks & I did read something about the process of ink Cartridges being more complicated with the Work force printers… I even got the sense that it was more of a risky purchase. That’s why I’m doing my research on the WorkForce printers because they’re selling for cheaper & of course I’d like to pay less & for a wide format one. I can get a wide format 13”-19” workforce printer for $329 on Amazon right now. The Ecotanks with 13”-19” paper allowance are more expensive.
It's actually been a few months, and I still haven't had ANY problems with this printer. I recently used it to do some smaller sublimation projects and they came out beautiful.
No, not yet. I do think this printer will not be budget friendly but since I already bought it, I have to stick with it. See if you can find an Epson 15000. It's a large format printer that may not have all of these issues with the cartridges.
@@CraftingwithDelonda I’ve done a few things trying to fix it but none worked, I did use the ink the printer came with a few times would buying new ones & removing the chips from those fix the problem?
Hello Delonda.I'm so glad I found your channel!! I am a newbie to circuit and sublimation.I have found a good price for the Epson 7820 you are converting. Do you have to use the original cartridges to initialize the printer and do you have to buy new cartridges each time you need to refill the ink? Thanks for the tutorial
@@CraftingwithDelonda Hi! Just was looking into getting this printer so I can print the large images. So for this printer each time you want to refill the ink you have to buy new ink cartridges each time you can't just re-fill them? That seems expensive no? also when you did this you moved the chips each time to the new ink cartridges? that's a lot of wear and tear. Can the chips be replaced if something happens? Also what size were the ink cartridges you purchased. Sorry for all the questions I want to make sure when I make this purchase I am not wasting my money ya know. What printer would you recommend for the larger prints in the same price range? I appreciate ALLLLLLLL of your help here.

@@CraftingwithDelonda Thanks so much for the honesty! Just what I needed. I am going to check into this one that you suggested. Ok, when you get to the Epson website select the operating system and it will tell you what drivers to download. From there follow the prompts on your screen.

I have an epson wf 2950 would it work with that one
I am not sure. In my opinion if you can get an EcoTank it would make things so much easier.
Hi new to your channel
Thank for the information on how to convert 7820 workforce printer to sublimation
very helpful.
Thank you kindly ❤
Great tutorial! It was exactly what I was looking for :)
Thank you ❤️
Hi can you tell me where the photo editor is for this printer or do you use photo shop
I actually downloaded Google Photos on my computer.
@@CraftingwithDelonda Thank you 🙏🏾
Thank you so kindly for the tutorial. I have everything except for the cartridge, it's on the way and I can't wait to do my 1st sublimation t-shirt. My question is where are the instructions online convertering the epson 7820, because, I would like to have it on hand for future reference?
I wish I could find online instructions!
Hi i was wondering would refurbished cartridges chips work
Hi, I'm not sure. Check out a channel called Honestly Spinking. She is proficient with these printers.
Thanks for such a great video, I have a question you said when the ink runs out you will have to get new cartridges will I use the same chip Thanks for shareing
Thank you
I have heard that you can get chip resetters now. I don’t use this printer anymore.
Can I use my printer that has printed on regular ink? Is there a cleaning process?
I am not sure. I am definitely a true beginner when it comes to this printer. I have used it a few times and I have since purchased an Epson ET 15000 to use for larger images.
Thank you so much for this video! It was super helpful. I am just about to try to set mine up!
This may be a dumb question but do you reuse the syringes to refill the cartridges or do you need new ones every time?
Hi there, that is not a dumb question at all. I am planning to use the same syringes the next time.
The 2760 prints up to 8.5 x 14.
What the printer preferences? Can you please tell me step by step. Thank you
My printer preferences are displayed in the video
@@CraftingwithDelonda my printer is stuck on error message. Can not get passed it. I have a er 7310
Oh no. I haven’t had this happen. Maybe unplug and restart.
If you are able to get an EcoTank I highly suggest it.
yes, I think that drink really. but what did you do with the printer?
what do you advise me to do? because I don't think it's economical to buy new cartridges every time :(
which printer do you advise me to buy?
I wanted to stick with A3 paper
@albertaraujo7474 you can use A3 paper with an Epson ET 15000. It's kind of pricey but I love mine.
Wow, I've never had to do this with my 7720 as far as the chip change out. It died and I'm thinking of this one but I don't want to go through adding the chip to the cartridge 🤦🏾♀️... how often are you doing this? Thanks for the detailed video❤️
You're very welcome. I would not advise you to get this one if you can afford a different Epson ET.
What did you do when the ink was low and stopped printing? Did you buy 4 new chips? Or reset them or bypass the system? Thank you
I haven't had to buy new ink.
I'm not sure if refilling it halfway would help. I didn't try because I didn't want to risk wasting ink.
Hello, to convert does the printer need to be new or can you convert a printer you already have
I'm sure you can use one you already have. I'm not sure about how to get the old ink flushed out.
Thank you
How long did it take until you had to add more ink?
I did not get to that point. Once I realized how fast this printer goes through ink, I hurried up and bought an Epson ET 15000
I have them in a box.
Very helpful! Thanks for sharing!
You're welcome 😊
HI, respect with reset chip, what do you doing?
I’ve heard that you can reset the chips but I haven’t tried it.
Good morning I have the wf7840 and this is my second time changing the chips. Now the printer isn't recognizing the cartridge do anyone know how to fix this?
Good morning, I haven't gotten to the point of having to change the chips yet.
@@CraftingwithDelonda have you had to change the ink cartridges at all? That’s what I’m worried about - is running into problems when that time comes.
No, not yet. I do think this printer will not be budget friendly but since I already bought it, I have to stick with it. See if you can find an Epson 15000. It's a large format printer that may not have all of these issues with the cartridges.
Are those chips reusable are you need to buy different chips from the original cartridges?
From what I've heard recently, there is a chip resetters. I haven't purchased one. Do a search online for an Epson 7820 chip resetter.
And when the ink in the refillable cartridges runs out?
You will need to purchase more cartridges. I haven't used this printer in about 2 years.
Hi how did you Change the color setting?
Hi, I shared that in this tutorial ua-cam.com/video/izF2wrE7HQI/v-deo.html
Are the colors name on the chipboard
I don't think so; but I also don't remember because I stopped using this printer after I realized that it goes through the ink too fast.
Thank you, this video helped me a lot 😊
Awesome!
The printer is showing that it’s not reading ink in the cartridges when they’re full any tips on fixing that?
Make sure the chips are flat on the cartridges.
@@CraftingwithDelonda I’ve done a few things trying to fix it but none worked, I did use the ink the printer came with a few times would buying new ones & removing the chips from those fix the problem?
Probably. I never used the ink that came with it. I purchased new empty cartridges and attached the chips to those.
Like your video. I've been researching refillable ink cartridges. Most of them say one time use. Is this correct?
Thank you! Unfortunately, that's true. The cartridges are one time use.
Hi there, you’re welcome. Remove the chips from the original cartridges and yes you have to replace them every time.
In my honest opinion, this printer is a money pit. I haven’t had to replace the cartridges yet but it is my understanding that you can get a chip resetter. I recently purchased an Epson 15000 and I would suggest finding one if possible.
@@CraftingwithDelonda Thanks so much for the honesty! Just what I needed. I am going to check into this one that you suggested. If you can think of any others that are in this price range, please let me know. I need something that does the wider and larger prints so I can offer the larger size T-Shirts for mamas. Appreciate you
getting back to me so quickly as well. =)
So I remove all the little air plugs? Great tutorial 😁
Thank you and make sure yours look like mine after they are installed in the printer.
Good video thanks ❤
Thanks for watching!
Hello what do I do on the website nobody really showing what the step are on the computer
Hi there, the website should tell you the next steps because it all depends on the operating system you are using.
@@CraftingwithDelonda I have a Jo computer and the wf 7820 what exactly do I look for when I go on there
?????
@@CraftingwithDelonda my bad a hp computer
Ok, when you get to the Epson website select the operating system and it will tell you what drivers to download. From there follow the prompts on your screen.
Good Evening,Can you used your iPad to program the printer or you have to have a computer
Hello, you should be able to print from your Ipad. I am not sure how that will work with the sublimation presets because your design will need to be mirrored.
@@CraftingwithDelonda Thank you!! Merry Christmas to you and your family
Have you had to change the chips
Not yet, I'm nervous about it though. It's still pretty full because I don't use it often.
Dang it. I did everything u said... But my printer initiation will not complete. It keeps telling me to call the help line..?!
I'm sorry to hear that. I stopped using this printer over a year ago.
i watched your video to the tea and i’m printing my test page and no color came out only a few little lines. i don’t know what to do😭
I don't use this printer anymore but most of the time when that happens, it's because the chip is not inserted properly in the cartridge.
What program did you use to make your print?
Pretty sure it was Word.
Great price for this printer that prints up to 13 x 19. Would you say it’s worth the purchase? Also are the cartridges expensive?
I don't suggest getting this one anymore. There are people who love it but in my opinion, the ink runs out fast.
Hello great video! Quick question! Where did you get the cartridge from? Thank you for in advance and thumbs on this video!
Thank you! I purchased them from ebay. Make sure to get the exact ones that say replacement cartridges for your printer.
I've watched your video and converted my 7820 with the same hiipoo sublimation ink and following all your instructions. The printer reads the inks and everything but it just won't print anything. Can you assist me in any way possible?
Hi there, I will certainly try. Are you in my fb group?
@@CraftingwithDelonda no I'm not in your fb group.
@@CraftingwithDelonda how do I get added to your fb group?
I am having this same issue now. Can anyone help me with this?
My first suggestion is to make sure that the chips are secured to each cartridge.
What is the name of the refill cartridges? And where can I get them to buy? I’m using the 7820 btw.
Hi there, this is what is on the package that I have: Refillable Ink Cartridge No Chip T812XL/812XL For Epson WF-7820 WF-7840 EC-C7000
I purchased mine from eBay.
@@CraftingwithDelonda thank you.
Delonda is a tech wizard/hacker :) Have you ran any DTF film through that? And is that a Epson WorkForce Pro WF-7820?
I do not recommend getting this printer. I have not tried it with DTF. When the ink started getting low, I unplugged it and put it in a corner.
ok so what if the chip won't stay on
Wait, does that mean you have to buy WF 7820 refill cartridges just for the chips to put on your sublimation cartridges?
Yes and I do not recommend this printer.
How big can you print with this printer?
13 x 19 😍🤩😍🤩
8:50 that’s funny 😆 in a good way cyan
🤣🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭
Does using these cartridges void the manufacturer's warranty?
I would say yes. I also don't recommend trying this because if you are unsure about it. I actually recommend trying to find an ecotank.
