Finished the Peninsula mini build now I'm binge watching this 60 build. Cheers and Beers m8!!
I'm happy for you that it has finally arrived!
Thank you, I am too!
Good luck Ross, lovely tank that, looking forward to watching the build 👍
Thanks Paul! Yeah it's perfect for what I was looking for
Would love to see an update on your tank mate. Hope all is good :)
Whoop welcome to the x60 club
😁😁😁 thank you, at least I have yours to follow for guidance
Glad the new tank is finally with you Ross. Please do in depth vids on the setting up of it.
Thanks mate, me too haha, yeah that seems to be what people want so I will try my best
Happy for u dude! Looking forward to the setup! Congrats again
Thanks very much mate and thanks for your support
Can’t wait to see what you do with this one!
Thank you very much mate
Welcome to the club, its a great little tank
Thanks, vantage wait to get it running now
Exciting times!! 🤸🕺
It really is for me anyway 😁
Detailed walkthrough of the build Ross 👍🏻. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it.👌🏻
Yeah that seems to he the general consensus anyway, thank you mate!
Glad it's finally here for you mate 👍
Thanks mate, me too haha
@@BeardedReef 😁 exciting times mate
Would love a detailed build of this tank.
I will probably get a waterbox 60.2 when I move into my new home in the next couple of months.
Thanks for giving up your time and educating me about this amazing hobby.
Fantastic channel & livestream.
Yeah I think the general consensus is that people want more detailed videos so I will try my best to do that, the 60.2 is a really nice tank from what I've seen of it so far, can't wait to get it set up, thank you very much for the support, it means a lot! 👍
Certainly worth the wait. In my opinion a brilliant sized tank and it will be great to see your sump set-up. Always love your videos - bring on the Pico Challenge :)
Thank you very much mate, yeah its the perfect size for what I wanted, fingers crossed the sump set up isn't too hard! Thank you very much for your support! 👍
Great video mate can't wait for this build for sure, and see the success that you will have for sure, can't wait to see the Scape as well mate 👍, and what fish you add as well, going to be great seeing what you do 👍👍
Thank you very much for your support mate, fingers crossed this build will go well, really looking forward to it
Good luck with the new tank 😉
Thank you very much mate! 👍
@@BeardedReef 🙌
Very nice Ross 👌
Thank you very much mate! 👍
Wow. .love this logo light. I need reef tank 😍😍😍.. Amazing video. ..goldy
Thanks very much mate, you should definitely get a reef tank!
Got to do detailed videos of what you do found your videos helpful when setting up the peninsula mini
Ok mate thank you, glad they were of some help to you! 👍
Nice tank mate..following this
Thank you very much mate
Nice one Ross looking forward to this bad boy getting set up. Defo do a detailed video on it mate
Thanks mate, yeah me too, can't wait to get it set up and get it wet, ok I will look into doing some more detailed videos then 👍
Please do a detailed video of the build! I have a small all in one and will hopefully upgrade one day to a larger tank with a sump so would love to see what you do!
I will do, thank you, oh the upgrade sounds awesome, having said that I still love my AIO peninsula mini
Glad the Waterbox finally arrived, I'm thinking about getting the same tank but dont want the filter socks ,since youv got your hands on would it be easy to take out the socks and fit a filter roller also could I squeeze in a refugium .looking forward to watching your build and what you do with it
Its a lovely tank, ive threw the filter sock in the bin, I use filter floss in a 3d printed filter floss cup, ive seen people fit a filter roller and a Refugium so it is possible yeah
The buzz and excitement of setting up a new tank....I'm so jealous. Good luck and hopefully you can apply all the things you've learnt into the new tank.
Oh I know, ive been so excited to get it and set it up! Such a big moment! Thank you, hopefully this one will be a little bit better than my last attempt
Hi Ross, exiciting times. Do you have any contact info for Reef Dabbler. I am not a instagramer but I would like to pick his brains about the Neptune Apex and he lives down in my neck of the woods.
Hi Jules, sorry I don't, I've only spoke with him on Instagram
Think you should do and in depth video, it’s great for beginners setting tanks up new tanks, but I’m really looking forward to seeing your progress with the new tank, a learning curve for you 2 I’m sure, it’s will be a little bit different from your other tank, in some ways it should be easier, keeping it stable for one bigger tanks are alot more forgiving, but anyway enjoy and look forward to you future videos
Thank you Colin, yeah I think you are right, I will do some more detailed videos and show the things I have learned from last time round, its my first sump too so will be another learning curve!
Great to see it’s finally arrived, looking forward to seeing a build journey and what you do with it.
Thank you very much mate, hope you enjoy seeing the updates
Looking forward to see your choices when setting up this tank, hope you’ve got deep pockets as livestock seems to be so expensive atm🤣
Thanks mate, haha yeah I know, it's crazy!
Looking nice Ross but I’m surprised that you are using the light with batteries knowing how you was with your Xmas tree lol
Hahaha it was just for the video, it's back on USB power now 🤣🤣🤣
Happy birthday to you. It was my birthday this week so also got a new tank.
Thank you, oh Happy Birthday to you too! That's awesome, what tank did you get?
@@BeardedReef I picked up an evolution aqua aquascaper 900 as I had a good sized sump sat around from a previous tank. Just gotta drill the new one. Also came with a sanrise led light that seems quite decent some of the local reefers to me run the same light.
Nice one that sounds brilliant mate! Well done! 👍
@@BeardedReef cheers. Its your fault inspiring me to make the jump from freshwater but without the usual humongous tanks that seem to be the norm for reef tanks.
Haha sorry mate, my bad, yeah you don't need to have a huge tank to keep a really nice looking and successful reef tank!
So you will need to order yourself some additional plumbing fittings, in particular a bulkhead fitting to match the other 2 in the bottom of the tank. Why on earth they make one that is different and not a barrel union connection like the other 2 is plain crazy and painful. The pump chamber is too large and using a large potion of the sump space for ATO res is crazy business... The person who decided that was a good idea also probably decide the huge gap in the back of the cabinet was a good idea as well, maybe two 30mm holes were needed for power and chiller, but some genius decided a 243mm wide gap in the middle of the cabinet top to bottom was a better option, probably costs them more to do it in 2 pieces to boot....why oh why??.
Glass is good and it it is easy to pull the glass dividers out of the sump and re-do it for a roller mat and proper flow (just need some picture hanging wire and some pop sticks to remove) . Plenty of room for roller mat, skimmer, alga reactor, couple of media reactors and a decent amount of bio media once that jank sump layout is removed.
Thanks for the comment, I had a look at the plumbing tho and everything I need is there?
I'm also happy with the sump layout, I'd like a bigger ATO chamber I think but that's all, I plan to use filter floss in a cup as I dont like the filter rollers so for me the tank and set up is ok,
I think for everything you have said you would be better getting a custom tank and cabinet made to suit your needs?
@@BeardedReef Yes plumbing comes with it, but they leave one of the 3 bulkheads as the old style screw through, which means you have to remove that bulkhead and pipes if you whish to take the tank on the stand and vice versa, and no easy cleaning of the pipe connected to it. The other 2 bulkheads, which are using the same size hoes and spacing in the glass, have a barrel union built into the bulkhead, making it easy to take the tank on and off with the bulkheads installed as there are no long pipes protruding. Why do 2 like this and 1 not...... So to fix this you need another union-bulkhead, it is not expensive just annoying someone though it was ok to do this. And while you are there gets some more plumbing bits to plumb the filter sock to the front of the tank so it is not tucked away in the hardest spot to reach (needs accessing every day/2nd day).
For ATO you add a little shelf inside on one side of the cabinet and add a 5-10L water jug with the lid plumbed into a float valve, makes it quick and easy to fill (or replace with a full one), uses a much more reliable form of top up system with mechanical float, no risk of a pump failing, or worse emptying all res into sump (chamber has too much water in WB sumps, will kill things if pump fails on), gives back the far more valuable space in the sump for saltwater and allows a many times more cheaper ATO setup with little to no risk of failure and you don't have to try and fill the chamber in the sump (no double handling).
There is no need to go custom, WB are about 85% of the way there with the quality of their tank finish, plywood construction of cabinets and quality plumbing fittings, they just need someone to help them get from "above average" to "Pro level" which is what the sales pitch makes out. Help is needed in their sump designs, a few things with the cabinets like the levelling legs and cabinet segments. If you have no idea at all these are really great beginner tanks, but with a few tweaks they would become perfect beginner tanks and really great reefer tanks and I doubt there would be any meaningful change to the production costs.
I’d like a build video that shows everything, but doesn’t stick on any one thing too long. Essentially show everything you did and where things are placed, but not too much extra commentary.
Thanks mate, I will try to do that as best as I can!
