Yes x 1000, the bonus ending footage is brilliant. A lot of times in videos, as viewers we see the end product and we don't know why or how the person decided what they put into the recipe through trial and error. Having a small glimpse of how everything is effected by "small" choices such as blended, casein, whey, or whatever you choose is so good! What's good to one person may be bad to another, so maybe someone knowing how Whey and Casein affect the waffle can tweak it more themselves to make it perfect for them! As always you drop the best content and I look forward to seeing more of it!
The difference between you and all the other anabolic youtubers is that you actually understand the "WHY" something works, which allows you to teach us, then allows us to adjust as we like. Really appreciate your videos and your credentials Mina, keep killing it bro. Subscribed and hit the bell!
Gonna have to try this! As a side note, you mentioned Belgian style waffles may use egg whites for more volume, which sounds perfect for an anabolic recipe. Curious if you've tried, or if you're just waffled out at this point...
I haven't! I didn't wanna buy another waffle iron (Belgian style). Egg whites would be great, i thought about it but it's too much work for most people so i stuck with classic waffles. and i'm VERY waffled out lol
@@MinaAyoubChef That's true, I'm guessing you can't even use liquid egg whites since they don't whip properly. On another side note, I know people pour pancake batter into a waffle iron, but have you tried making pancakes with waffle batter?
I have tested the different proteins in so much cooking too. Basically, whey is almost non water absorbing, flour is ... flour, and casein is VERY water absorbing. If i want the same consistency using only casein as using whey, i have recognised i need to use about 2.5 times the liquid
i wanted to make these waffles but i dint have buttermilk powder and casein so i replaced them with baking powder(3g) and dry milk(30g). i didnt use baking soda. i ended up making crepes instead of waffles cause the dough was very liquidy. the crepes were hecking amazing! thank you for the recipe mina i hope ill make the waffles someday :D
I believe it was (King) Alton Brown who I heard make the case that waffles are cooked in a very similar manner to deep frying if you consider the high, even, all encompassing heat of a waffle iron, and especially if you butter that thing up a ton. Regardless, a well made crispy waffle stomps on a pancake any day of the week don’t @ me.
Allulose sweetener seems to be most identical to sugar apparently it was online that it can Caramelize like sugar and even is as effective as stuff like high fructose corn syrup for depressing freezing point in stuff like ice cream Just felt like telling you so you could maybe use it In your future recipes

I'm gonna try these cause I'm tired of buying a crap ton of greek yogurt lol. Also I still hope you can try to make a Anabolic version of Wendy's Honey chicken butter biscuit!
I tried making these and they were too thick at first since I used coconut flour and cashew milk. Next time I used a pancake mix as the flour along with cashew milk. I think cause I don't have a full caesin blend along with normal flour then
I used 75:25 (casein:whey) and batter was soo thiccc and waffles came out floppy and not crispy at all So i tried 50:50 and 25:75 and still bad, something is off with my casein 🤔
I know this goes against what you said in the vid ”needs buttermilk to be a buttermilk waffle” But i cant find it here in sweden, do you have any substitutes instead of it? 😁

Love this and love the song you used at the end! So you used the same brand of protein, but one a casein and one a whey, correct? No pe science auto combo?? Going to be getting into baking in the near future and this helps me not have to do these tests all over again!
Got a new sandwich press / waffle maker and tried making this just now. It was delicious, but it didn't come out very crispy. I'm not sure if it's because of something wrong I did, or because the waffle maker stopped heating up at some point. Any thoughts?
Mina, I have a challenge for you, do you think you're able to make Anabolic Kunafah/Knafeh? I have a feeling that Middle Eastern desserts cannot be possibly made healthy haha
Hey Mina! This might be obvious but I was curious as to you thoughts on it, can you just sub the oil out for unsweetened apple sauce or would that not work? Anyway i appreciate the content this looks incredible!

If you don't have the buttermilk powder, I would say use a splash of almond milk and 3/4 of a teaspoon of vinegar for substitution

so. much. testing.

will a casein/whey blend like PE Science or Quest work, also, what is the absolute key in getting them to be crispy on the outside? the oil?

Lmk how they turn out!
1/2 "T" - is that teaspoon? Tablespoon? Same with baking soda
t = teaspoon
T = Tablespoon
"no weird ingredients" do most people have buttermilk powder on hand? probably easy to find in the store i assume, though
It’s really easy to find in any grocery store, it’s bobs red mill products. You could also use regular buttermilk, or skip it and use baking powder
Not weird at all if you're Irish. Staple food.

You can leave it out and sub the baking soda for powder (tiny bit less). There’s comments of people who tried it I think
I already have a pancake recipe do you believe it would become waffles just by adding the oil?
You prob have to adjust the other liquids a bit
Is there a substitute for buttermilk powder cause I can't find any @_@ though I got pancake powder?

can i use only whey ? also can i takeoff the buttermilk flour coz i don't have access to it atm !
youll have to adjust the liquids, use baking powder if you dont use buttermilk

how much apple sauce did you put in to sub for the oil?

love to hear it!
Just put a paper tower under the waffle maker just in case it does overflow.
That takes care of the counter but then all those nooks and crannies on the iron itself...
Made it 2x, I like it. Best one I've tried so far.
Bought casein this week, so I’m ready to go!
I hope you make better maple syrup 😝
If you can fold it, it's not a waffle
How did you do the timestamps?

I also used real buttermilk instead of buttermilk powder+water
i've been straying away from pescience lately, trying other things. in that specific test it was 2 diff brands cuase that's all i had at the time

Another great with great information about recipe and cooking
anabolic ramen pls?
Thats the ratio thats in PEScience already right? How come you didnt just use that?
I'm honestly not sure on their ratios, reading the label, it might be more on the whey side(80/20?). I'll have more on that soon
Buttermilk powder. What about some buttermilk pancake mix?
Pancake mix will have lots of other things (flour, sugar etc)

yes

dang...which ones? i can help you with subs
can you try to make more recipes with a higher protein content? I'm talking like at least 1g/10cals. I'm a big fan btw. Keep it up!

it'll have other ingredients so not sure how it'll work, try it though!
Can we use PES science for the protein casein blend? If so how much 🤔
maybe, not sure tbh
Could really use some low-cal bread recipes.
still working on that one
Did you use flavored protein powder? What are your recommendations?
it was just vanilla for both whey/casein. I'll have videos on good proteins coming soon
If I use PEscience. Do I just put 50grams of protein in
it'll be different texture i think pescience is more whey, but try it out and see what happens
