The reason for the lifeboat being missing on the QM is because Disney removed that lifeboat to preserve it in the earlier 2000s when the QM was a hotel. There is still no lifeboat there today, and I believe they included that as a little easter egg! Anyways, you're my favorite shipping channel on youtube, and its just cool how I found another person that likes ships as much as me, as ship enthusiasts are a small group! Lowkey GOD DAMN! These models are absolute gas. Need to get me that Olympic or Britannic model. Those really brought back some childhood nostalgia when I kept trying to build my own Lego models of those ships.
NGL That's how I got interested in all of it back in my younger days too! These were the days before YT and pretty much all we had were old books and magazine and a tub full of Legos :)
I'm aware of them. Only thing I wished was that they did all their models in the same scale. But otherwise, for something so cheap, this is fine quality (and that painted Titanic they sent you was gorgeous), and I look forward to what they come out with in the future, especially the Big U. :D
There is a reason for it - scaling all of our models to one size really constrains what we can do. We try to scale a lot of them relative to their sister ships or counterparts but the great thing with 3d printing is that if someone absolutely must have "scale x" then we can accommodate. If someone wants an entire collection in 1/700, for example, we can find a way to do it.

These do come with masts that you have to put on, right? I would like to get Queen Mary (my favorite ocean liner) and it wouldn't look right t me without them. Lovely models though.
I know about the Nomadic. The history of the Nomadic is that when White Star commissioned Harland & Wolff Shipyard in Belfast to design and build the Olympic class, it was discovered/known that the Olympic class was too large for the port of Cherbourg, Harland & Wolff was charged to build two tenders, Nomadic and Traffic, to handle transporting passengers and cargo back and forth between the pier in Cherbourg and the Olympic liners. Not sure what happened to Traffic but Nomadic was returned to Harland & Wolff yard in Belfast, I think that was in the 1990's. Californian was actually a Leyland Lines ship. I grew up in Tennessee listening to "The Sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald" on the radio in the 1970s along with other greats like "The Battle of New Orleans". As the cook said in "Sinking", "So long, boys, its been great to know ya' ".
The traffic had a very sad end. The Traffic was scuttled during Cherbourg’s evacuation while the Nazi’s closed in. The nomadic escaped with many passengers and got to Allied force territory. The traffic was raised by the Nazi’s after the invasion and was put to use for war. Soon after being used by the Nazi’s, the Traffic was torpedoed by a British warship. The Nazi’s tried to raise her once again, although she was deemed a lost cause and was left in the water by the Nazi’s.
I have a quick video suggestion again. Do a video on the. SS Queen of Bermuda and her sister ship. Monarch of Bermuda. Very interesting lives of these two ships.
Just a quick note about that Carpathia funnel, it was not red. It was painted Cunard Orange like the rest of the Cunard fleet. The funnels were not painted to red until 1949. It's a common misconception given that several of the builders models of Cunard ships that were made before 1949 have been restored with the Cunard Red. Just thought it would be important to point out.
TimCan is right, and that's actually a great observation. We did take a little creative liberty on our Carpathia model to show her in a little bit of a darker light. The later photographs of Carpathia during her wartime service show the funnel in battle grey paint and most modelers have mistaken this for a red funnel (and there's been much debate over photographic color translation) - but seeing as all of our other well known Cunard funnels are displayed in their orange glory, I decided early on to keep the Carpathia in actually a darker red probably than the Cunard Red would have been. it looks really good by itself or next to the rest of our lineup and I always said if there were a massive outcry for it to be changed then I would give in but to date, this is the first time it's been brought up. We can change the color of any of our models funnels upon request with anyone's order. I have done a lot of black funnels for the Lusitania and with the way we produce our models, that is done easily and the funnels can also be easily made interchangeable upon request as well. - Andy
I did finally cave to your suggestion and we did a total rework of Carpathia you should check her out now! :) Thanks for calling us on that. You planted a seed about the funnel color and I found I just couldn't get a good nights sleep until I fixed that LOL

If I could share some insight on that. It's been a huge deal for us. So our models aren't painted, rather 3d printed in multicolor.
