I was born in Brasil, but raised in Sevilla then later moved to Madrid.....Spain is such a lovely country, Sevilla I love because it's such a calm lifestyle there. Recommend people to visit.
+Matheus Oliviera Muller I've never been to a place that has people more kind, with more family/community oriented people, than Sevilla. That's a HUGE statement coming from me because most other Americans don't believe that I came from a community that if a farmer gets sick everyone chips in and helps with the work. If you can't find your car keys the response was, "Why didn't you leave them in the ignition". I was shocked to when I realized that a city in Spain felt more like home than 80% of the US. I must go back!
I have visited Sevilla twice and I loved this city. History, nightlife, lifestyle and for its quiet ... Plaza de España, Mosque and Magic Island were some beautiful places I visited. :)
I lived in Seville for four months during college. I had the privilege of going to Feria. My classmates and I used to sit along the Gaudalquivir, where you walked, doing homework and drinking Coca cola. I was married not long after my time there and while there I bought a traditional flamenco dress in white and wore it along with a comb and mantilla, instead of a veil, at my wedding.
Sevilla is my favorite city in Spain. And that's saying a lot because I love Barcelona, Madrid, and Malaga! Rick Steves, thank you sir for your videos! Unfortunately, I didn't get to visit in April, but December (Christmas time) was wonderful! And the bells from the church were amazing!
easter is the best time to go, because for us, April is a big month, and the city looks totally different. It is true that easter is the bussiest time in Sevilla, but that is because during it, we celebrate Holy Week (when you can see the most pupular holy week processions of Spain, and surely of the world), and also we celebrate "La feria de Abril" (Fair of April) which is the most popular fair of Spain too. The city is so colorful during easter and sunny. You would love it! However, Christmas is also a very good time to go, Christmas's nights in Seville are amazing and the weather is not bad!

3:05 "Spaniards consider Andalusia the home of flamenco" It's not that Spaniards consider it. It IS. Not only that, flamenco is just from Andalusia, not Spain. You can find people in Madrid, Bilbao, Valladolid or Barcelona who like flamenco, listen or dance to it, but it's not that different from finding that in New York. We all know it's not part of our traditions outside Andalusia (and maybe part of Extremadura and Murcia if at all).

Love your videos Rick, but the Moors did not conquer the entire Iberian Peninsula. In fact several Christian kingdoms remained very much sovereign in the north of the Iberian Peninsula, and eventually prevailed and reclamied the land to the Moors: the Reconquista.
Yes, anthere is another error: Spain's Empire "did not crumble in the 18 century". In fact, it kept expanding in the "New World" and was the largest world Empire until the early 19th century (when it actually "crumbled").
