Cost of living in the Philippines varies greatly upon where you live and your lifestyle. Undoubtedly prices are rising quickly due to the influx of foreigners and world inflation. Tourist areas and densely populated areas like Manila and Cebu City can be more expensive than living in California. If you plan on living a mostly “western” lifestyle (food, travel, medical, housing, etc….) things can get very expensive quickly. If you live a mostly modest “Filipino” type lifestyle, you can easily live on $1k/month. I plan to do a mix. I will travel, but not like I’m always on vacation. I’ll eat western food, but also Filipino food. In Some of the provinces you can get some very fresh and very cheap seafood. I plan to have solar. My biggest concern is medical. Right now you can get decent coverage for less than $2k/year. Who knows what it will be going forward. Our plan is to have our house built and paid for, a car that’s paid for, and solar that’s paid for. We also plan to have an emergency fund. We already own land in a few different places so if prices go up we can sell some of it.
Good day Imcc007 and thank you for looking at ATP and viewing this video and sharing your vision. Your first sentence says it all and is so very true. smart!!! paid housing, car, solar is the best move along with lands for investments… I did the exact same thing although I won’t be retiring for another 20 years or so lol you can never go wrong preparing early. the biggest expense will be medical insurance and by then, the budget should be more than enough 😊

@@ATPAllThingsPhilippines-jb2050 I subbed yesterday 👍 I'm retiring to the PI as soon as I sell my house in Florida. Honestly thought I would be there by now but have been dealing with Probate Courts and it's taken much longer than expected. Filed the last document Friday and my Attorney told me it should only be a couple weeks and FIN. All that's left is to put it on the Judge's desk for a signature on the final order. And yea your flashback was on point brother. Combat Engineer here, last tour Iraq, 06-07.
Good day Bravo21 and thanks for your sub and following ATP. I hope all goes well for you in your transition to the Philippines as it sounds like its getting close to happening. Thank you for your service to our country. I did platoon time in 1/3 ACR and was tank company commander of D Company, 1/64 AR, 24th ID. "Darklord6". Ah the good ole days and fond memories of great brotherhood. Stay safe and have a great retirement!! 🙂🙂
I have lived here on Siquior for almost 8 years. It costs Just as much here as in the states. My expenses have never been below 3k per month. We own our home and cars. Food, pets, electric, water are all expensive....not to mention diesel for the must have generator. Aways plan for unexpected expenses.
Good day Mr. Archer and thanks for looking at ATP and viewing this information. Your comment is very informative and helpful to the viewers and I would have to agree with you that it does seem expensive there. Clearly the vlog was showing based on single/couples expense. You must have a big family and extended families which, living in depressed provinces tend to happen, before you know it, EVERYBODY is eating at your house come mealtime 🤣
Good day Judy and thanks for looking at ATP and this video and commenting. You are correct that I reference costs based on two and your comment made me smile as I think back a few years about a colleague who visited Philippines with his girlfriend and during his stay he was breaking his budget because the entire "extended family" was stopping by for meals. Made me laugh but very true and a very good point that "one" may retire in the Philippines but over time the "one" becomes "many". I am from Seychelles, though it is the most expensive country in Africa , Philippines is five times cheaper if I am living like a westerners. If I live my humble life I can survive on 500 dollars a month's easily there. I lived in Europe and Africa before.

I Googled cost of livings Philippines VS Thailand. I found the electricity is three times more expensive in the Philippines and condo rent is about double. Fast Internet is also cheaper in Thailand. Since rent and utilities are my main expenses. I decided that I am better off in Thailand.
Good day Gary and thank you for looking at ATP, viewing this video and providing your findings. Your pretty much spot on regarding electricity as I used to pay $35 in Thailand and now pay $83 in the Philippines. Regarding monthly rental rates, I used to pay $465 - $500 in Thailand for a one bedroom 42 sqm condo and now pay $225 and have a three-bedroom 65+ sqm townhome. And internet in Thailand I used to pay $16 and now pay $26. In America, rent would now cost me $800 - $1,700 monthly and one reason I have no desire to return there. Great video. Best location for decent fair price is Iloilo city great location for everything to experience the life of western and filipino life. Surrounded with hospitals a few minutes away. Has great schools and universities. A few minutes away to International airport. A few hours drive to great beaches like boracay, islas gegantes, sandbar concepcion, guimaras island and more. I’m not sure why I like to watch these cost of living videos despite the fact that I’ve spent enough time there to know it myself already first hand. But I must say this was a well put together informative video sir. Thanks for also shouting out Naga city and the rent price bc I’ve been considering other places in the Visayas. Most of our time has been spent in Davao (that’s where the wife is from) but the prices are getting out of hand. Close but outside of Cebu has also been a consideration I just didn’t know what cities to look at. Thanks for sharing and take care. Jake
Good day Jake and thank you for looking at ATP, viewing this video and commenting. Its always good to be learning about other places and having options. I’ve heard many nice things about Davao and the beauty of that region. When I came here last year one main reason I shied away from Mindanao was the U.S. State Departments Level 2 Travel Advisory for that region and news of hostage taking and terrorist threats. It’s probably very safe in Davao but I like to get out and see the sights in the back country and I felt for me I just couldn’t do that and feel safe so I decided on the Visayas region. Living in Naga, you save an hours drive if you are going south to the tourist attractions compared to living in Cebu City. And from here you can get to the Moalboal, Kawasan Falls, Oslob, Osmena and Casino Peak, and other wonderful attractions in about a two-hour drive. I’ve also heard many good things about Dumaguete, Negros Oriental. Another good thing about being here in Cebu is that you can get to Bohol and Negros Occidental rather quickly and cheaply. And a one-hour flight to Manila so you really have a lot at your finger tip here in Cebu. I’m glad you found this video informative and you might want to also look at my latest 2024 Cost of living video and see the two-year comparisons. Your channel looks very nice and also informative and I hope after a few more years I’ll earn a fraction of the subscribers you have. 🙂🙂 If you have not already done so, please subscribe to ATP to receive future information like this. I totally agree about Davao. My first trip there I too noticed the threat level but "risked it all for love" lol. Actually in my research at that time it revealed most (not all) threats occurred outside of Davao City proper. I do feel safe in Davao and have been many times but I do feel "boxed" in. As the wife says I'm safest only going North and East out of Davao which doesn't leave me as much ground to explore. I've spent some time in Cebu as well, stayed at the Quest Hotel and really enjoyed Cebu. I do like Cebu for all of the points you made. I just have to find the right spot outside of the city as I am a country or province boy at heart (originally from Mississippi) But I like being close to the city for the times that we would want to go for a movie or a western style dining experience etc. Thanks for mentioning your updated budget video I will check that out. I keep watching these type vids to reinforce my idea of early retirement. Wife keeps telling me "as long as we have 2k USD passive lets just go" lol. We've lived there before on 1800-2k and felt just fine. We are completely over the culture here in the US, especially w/ young kids and what is accepted as normal. That said, we are slowly but surely prepping our life here for an exit to the PH. Thanks for the kind words about our channel. Hoping we can get back to regularly vlogging and cont to grow it. Your channel as well is putting out great info and should too grow exponentially! We did sub and like! Thanks again and take care, Jake
Hi Jake and thanks for subscribing to ATP. Yes, I’ve heard from many and also read that Davao City proper is relatively safe and I think that stems from Rodrigo Duterte serving as mayor for more than 22 years (seven terms) and establishing a firm grip on the rule of law. And now following in his footsteps is son Sebastian Duterte to maintain that level of peace and safety. With Marawi only 175 - 200 km away, it seems your wife’s advice to travel north or east is good guidance. I believe you will be able to live fine here on your stated 1,800 - 2,000 budget and not feel pinched and I wish you the best in your retirement planning as it sounds like you are on a good glide path. I’ll be starting a new real estate series in the near future that you might find informative and give you some ideas of the surrounding Cebu areas. Stay tuned. Thanks again for subscribing Jake! This is one of the best budget videos I have seen very in depth and informative some of these vloggers saying you need 3 thousand us dollars a month is crazy I don't spend that much here in Toronto Canada one of the most expensive cities in North America and I rent and drive a car health care is free here but still they blow it out of proportion my Filipina wife who lives and works here with me has a house in mindino my question to you is what would be a reasonable amount of money to self insure I am thinking 1 hundred thousand Canadian dollars your thoughts
Good day Michael and thank you for looking at ATP, viewing this video and commenting and I’m glad you have found it informative. Those living on $3K a month are living the high life (IMHO) as I’m doing quite comfortably here at less than $1.7K monthly. You ask a tough question as there are so many variables to this equation. Not knowing your age or present health status are key elements to self-insuring. I would certainly think that 100K Canadian dollars would cover any minor/major health issues that required medical attention. I have taken the position that should I end up in the hospital for what ever reason, I’d expect to pay out of pocket $3K - $10. After paying health insurance premiums for five years in Thailand that exceeded $12K and never going to the hospital one time, I made the decision to self-insure last September. I just uploaded my 2024 Philippine Cost of Living video today that you might find helpful. If you have not already done so, please subscribe to ATP to receive future information like this. The load on my phone monthly is 300 pesos which include data for youtube and facebook and calls to Smart and Sun plus unlinited text on 3 networks, Smart, Sun and Globe, heard DITO is cheaper.

Food prices are high. Most items you showed can be purchased at same price in NYC at bargain store. Medicare pays my healthcare cost in NY. I have to pay about 160 a month regardless of living in the US or Philippines. Why not buy just basic and emergency coverage there and visit here if big need arises. Phone bills are very high in Philippines. Housing cost is the only things that attracts.
Good day Life Hacks. Thanks for viewing and sharing your thoughts. I've heard that there comes a time that elderly living abroad can no longer afford their expat health care and return to America to receive the care they need for free or nearly free. For me, utility and housing costs here are a lot cheaper and I don't have to contend with the snow that you will soon be getting about in. 🙂🙂 Additionally I can buy a new car for about 10K - 15K less, which I'm getting ready to do. Please share and subscribe if you've not already done so to receive more Philippine information. Thanks for stopping in and sharing.
What? My phone bill is unlimited for$50 here in Manila. Back in Phx I was paying $160 a month mostly from taxes and weird name fees I could not pronounce less understand.

You might consider stopping the selling of the Philippines so heavily so inflation doesn’t make it impossible for those of us in retirement to move there. Ha ha ha. Prices are already creeping up. Having said that, I’d like to look at the gated community where you live. Is it possible? I’ll be arriving in about a month or two. And I am considering Naga very seriously.
Good day Martin: I'm told you can enter this gated community by providing one piece of identification allowing you to drive around and see the various facilitites. Naga has a quaint downtown district selling meats, pastries, and hardware as well as two grocery stores and pharmacies. Very interesting, I was stationed at Clark Air Base, Philippines 🇵🇭 back in 1991. The American dollar to Philippines 🇵🇭 Pesos rate is the best as compared to Canada 🇨🇦 and Australia 🇦🇺 living in the Philippines 🇵🇭 . To apply for American military 🪖 Philippines 🇵🇭 sponsored SRRV program. You need $1,000 American dollars 💸 per month . The Philippines 🇵🇭 average is $350 dollars per month. Most Americans who retire in the Philippines 🇵🇭 with $1,509 dollars 💸 or more can live a good life in the Philippines 🇵🇭. About over 100,000 Americans live in the Philippines 🇵🇭. About 19,000 are retired there. I am age 61 and a widower. My children are grown and have children too. I hope to live again in the Philippines 🇵🇭 and retire there. Thank you for this information video.
Good day David and thank you for looking at ATP, viewing this video and providing a very informative comment for our viewers. Since your assignment at Clark in 1991 The Clark Freeport and Special Economic Zone (CFEZ) was implemented which has transformed the city of Angeles and the provinces of Pampanga and Tarlac. The Special Resident Retirement Visa (SRRV) Expanded Courtesy program is a fantastic Philippine visa option for foreign nationals 50 years old and above, who are retired Armed Force officers of foreign countries with existing military ties and/or agreements with the Philippine Government. A monthly pension of at least US $1K and an SRR Visa deposit of US $1.5K are required. I agree with you and do believe you can live comfortably here for $1.5K to $2K a month. You should plan a trip back here and see if it is enough to help you decide to retire here. I spent five years in Thailand and now consider Philippines my retirement residence. It’s hard to explain but I feel at peace here and have no desire to return to the US. I thank you for subscribing to ATP and appreciate your viewership and time. I see many UA-cam videos on this topic. Looks to me all expats living in provinces or hours away from big city. If I ever relocate to Phillipines I will live in big major city. Probably Manilla. I am not interested to live in provinces or hours away from big city. If I want to live in rural area.I can do that in USA with better amenities.
Good day “Fighter for Justice” and thank you for looking at ATP, viewing this video and commenting. Sounds like you have a good plan. I can tell you from firsthand experience my monthly rent is about $235 for a 60+ sqm two story townhome 45 minutes south of Cebu. Out of the city but not that far out. Looking at the latest data for Manila, you can rent an 85 sqm furnished accommodation in expensive area for 90,000 peso and a 85 sqm furnished accommodation in a normal area for 44,000 peso. Obviously the sky’s the limit and higher price points may be found in Makati and Quezon City. I put a link in the description box with this and more information on Manila for your review. Big house with big in ground pool. Central AC. The AC runs all time due heat. They don't drive theirs cars. Though you mention the 3 regions, your average pricing appears to be only where you are living. Everywhere else is much higher for housing, utilities and wifi. And im not talk about living extreme. IMO, your comment saying the Philippines is 70% cheaper is not correct. Just in the last 2 years, prices have risen dramatically across the board. Evey day the exchange rate changes making it more expensive when the peso is stronger against the dollar. Gas you show is about P10-P15 pesos more in Metro-Manila. Again, pointing towards what it probably costs where you live, not in the other regions you mention. I would warn readers that its vital to do your own research to get a more accurate cost analysis of the area you intend to live so that your not shocked when you come. A good budget is vital both for current and future living. Dont fall back on credit cards, rely on cash you have.
Good day Roy and thanks for looking at ATP, viewing this video and providing some very specific information. The information provided in this video can be used as a base line and certainly does not imply it holds true throughout the entire Philippines. Regarding the “70% cheaper” statement, from my humble experience I do find this to be true and accurate as I used to pay $450 - $500 US in Thailand for rent where as here I’m paying about $230 US, 50% less. My water bill here is 60% less than Thailand. A new 2023 Honda ADV 160 in America is $4,349 where as I bought my new Honda ADV 160 in June for $2,896, a 35% cost savings. I could go on and on but let’s just agree to disagree. 🙂🙂 And as you point out it is very important for someone to do their due diligence and fact finding before committing to an overseas retirement. As well as stay away from the credit cards. Cash is King!! Please subscribe to ATP if you have not already for future information like this. Your comment is much appreciated and insightful. Hello Timea and thanks for viewing ATP and this video. In the "Medical Services Costs" chapter at the 12:19 mark, you'll find cost information for hospital outpatient, inpatient, and dental care. Medical costs can differ greatly say with a patient with a broken finger compared to a patient who has undergone cardiac arrest. Costs listed in this video provide an average. I hope you'll subscribe and share to get more information regarding All Things Philippines. 🙂🙂
New subscriber here, my husband and me are both American pensioners, but re aquired our Filipino citizenship. We’re both of best worlds, America and Philippines and we’re just so thankful to God for all the blessings. By the way, modesty aside our 3 daughters are all educated in prestigious universities in the US , 2 doctors and a mass communications graduate from UCLA, UCSD and UCDavis. They studied with the help of financial assistance and loans. They are all very focused in on their dreams , and we’re so thankful about that. America is really a land of opportunity especially for young people, but Philippines is haven for retirement. Just my opinion. Thanks for promoting our country, inspite of the many flaws , especially people running our government. Still praying for a leader who is visionary and loves our country and poor people, and not focused on enriching only themselves. Be safe and God bless
Good Day Lydia: Thank you for following and subscribing to ATP and commenting. I have found that working with Filipinos in the Middle East, that they are committed to advancing the betterment of their families and sacrificing to do it. Dedicated to faith and family, great at goal setting, and finding ways to achieve what they have set out to do. Seems your children have had wonderful mentors watching you and your husband, and now the seeds of what were planted many years ago, are reaping benefits. It is love of heart that you speak of these three young ladies and God’s love to guide them forward. I’m glad that you have found the American dream and have now passed the baton to your daughters. I absolutely agree with you that as a pensioner, the Philippines provide a Golden Opportunity to live out our years. Thank you for following ATP and have a great retirement. 🙂🙂🙏
It will eat you up if you don't have cash. Basically no service at all without the Benjamin's. Still cheaper than US though. Just don't get sick here unless you have insurance.

The problem here is health care no coverage and you need t9 pay cash and prices are increasing most americans ans foreigners are leaving headed back to usa .
Good day Larry and thanks for commenting. Yes indeed health care costs are expensive and for many of us there comes a day that premiums can no longer be afforded leaving one to contemplate self insurance if fortunate enough to do so or return to America to get our health needs taken care of as you reference. Ahhh the challenges of aging. 🙂🙂 Thanks for commenting and sharing your views and stay safe and have a great day. 🙂🙂
If you think medical cost is costly here wait till you see your medical bill in the US, you will passed out due to shock unless you have employer insurance. The trick is to stay healthy here and not work a 9 to 5 job. Then your good.
Good day Jet D and thanks for looking at ATP, viewing this video and providing some very good information. Totally agree about the big three US Telecoms adding all sorts of different charges that most don’t agree with and the high costs of mobile services. I like The Philippines. I have lived in The Philippines for 8 years now. But, if you do not have $2,500.$3,000. per month liquidity, you are flirting with disaster. Better price nealth insurance here before coming!
Good day Mac and thank you for looking at ATP and this video and giving comment. Absolutely true that one must have a guaranteed monthly income to "comfortably" cover expenses as well as a "rainy day" reserve. And health insurance premiums will take a chunk out of the monthly allotted income. One must do their home work for health insurance coverage before moving overseas. Every man life style is different our problem is we want to live a western lifestyle on $2500 to $3,000 with that kind of money with out a live in women or women with kids your considered wealthy. I’m single live in the province I don’t want all the modern day luxury just give a good insurance plan and a Garden I live $1000 a month comfortably and I’m a millionaire because of my bank account
If that were true, you'd likely see a huge exodus from here because, for that amount, you have many, many options. If you live a simple lifestyle away from the heart of Manila or Cebu, you can live quite comfortably for 1.5K. However, if you assume it it your obligation to support an extended family, even doubling that may not be enough.

Respectfully disagree on the cost of living in PI. Food is at an all time high as is electric. If you have A/c your bill will be close to $150 to $200 a month. Transportation like Grub and Taxi is very costly. If you think you can live well in the Philippines on $1600 to $2000 a month good luck.
Good day Paul and thank you for looking at ATP and viewing this video. Your comment is much appreciated and does help the viewers. You can live well on that budget. I’ve never spent more than $2k a month in Cebu and that includes domestic travel, eating out 3 nights a week, health insurance, storage unit in US, and all food, housing, entertainment, and transportation costs. Now there are startup costs when you arrive and that can be US$10-20k and I would have an emergency fund of $20k US.

It's quite simple. Come here with money. Buy property. Invest. My Filipina wife and I own three residential and three commercial properties - obviously, as a foreigner I cannot own land, but we have been together for 8 years and have a family so I doubt if she's going to shaft me. All of our properties have increased significantly in value, primarily due to location (Covid led to an exodus from Manila, with many people relocating to our locale, around 90 minutes from the capital). In addition we get a very decent passive income through rentals and commercial interests and investments. We came here from Hong Kong four years ago, where the cost of living is at least five times that it is here. My wife persuaded me to retire early. I did and do not regret it.
Good day Joshua and thank you for looking at ATP, viewing this video and commenting. Location, location, location goes the old saying and it seems to have worked very well for you and your family. Hong Kong is currently ranked #2 most expensive city in the world 🙃🙃to live so it would seem you definitely are benefiting not only from your real estate investments but also from the substantial reduction of monthly expenses living in the Philippines. IMHO, you made a good decision to retire and now spend your time as you please and with family. Congrats on your financial success and wish you well in your retirement. Wait until you talk about health care for someone over 60 years of age in southeast asia. Then you regret moving to southeast asia. Unless you are willing to fly back to america and use your medicare.
Good day Orangeguy and thanks for looking at ATP, viewing this video, and providing your comment. Health care might be one of the most important factors for a retiree to consider when thinking about moving over seas. The older we get it seems the Health Insurance companies think we get richer as we get older as the premiums increase to a point for some that is unafforadble and for others who are no longer insurable. For some who are fortunate enough, self insurance is an option. In my opinion, we should never "regret" a decision that we dreamed about for many years of our adult life living in a foreign land and enjoy the memories we created and accept the new challenges of how to deal with aging. Please subscribe to ATP to receive more information like this in the future. Again, thanks for your comment and hope this finds you well. Have a great day. 🙂🙂

The Philippines has the 2d highest English Proficiency in Asia and 27th globally and plays a key role in the hiring of Philippine nationals by international companies. Philippines is not the land of opportunity for foreigners to invest & settle Foreigners can't own lands & full business ownership in PH (the 60/40 Filipino first policy) Foreigners can obtain PH citizenship if born & raised in PH like the prominent Spanish Ayala family which is not the case of most foreigners They say that "PH economy is booming" its true for rich Filipinos only Foreigners in PH are easily deported for overstaying
Good day Jose and thank you for looking at ATP, viewing this video and sharing your comments. Many country’s do restrict foreigners from owning land and businesses but if married to a citizen of that country there are ways to go about it. As a “guest” in this country it is very important to monitor the status of our visa’s and abide by the Immigration laws so as not to get deported. Good day Jose and thanks for following up with your information. Good day Jose and thank you for your follow up. Here’s a link that describes requirements to attain Philippine naturalization or citizenship. Not easy but doable. NOTE: This is not an endorsement of this law firm, but merely a reference that sheds light on the topic of discussion. CAN FOREIGNERS BECOME CITIZENS OF THE PHILIPPINES? - ALBURO LAW Many foreigners do purchase "properties" in the Philippines such as condos or townhomes and have their names on the real estate contracts. What is not allowed is their name on real estate titles or real estate deeds or owning the physical land. To get around this land ownership issue, a foreigner can "Lease" the land for a period of time. Stay safe and have a great weekend. 🙂🙂

Clearly the vlog was showing based on single/couples expense. You must have a big family and extended families which, living in depressed provinces tend to happen, before you know it, EVERYBODY is eating at your house come mealtime 🤣
The TRUTH!
Also has S&R and more.
Good day Phil-Am and thanks for looking at ATP, viewing this video and providing some very good information about your location.

Thanks again and take care,

Stay tuned.

The Naga park and boardwalk are very nice places to relax at night and the hospital is 8 kilometers away from this compound should you need one.
Thank you for your service to country and I wish you a wonderful retirement. 🙂🙂

Is a prescription for a medication in the philippine like blood pressure medication. Amlodipine 10mg is required by pharmacies in the Philippines?
Good day Atassm and thanks for looking at ATP, viewing this video and making your inquiry. Some of the big pharmacies in the Visayas region are Mercury Drug, Rose Pharmacy, 360 Pharmacy and Nuestra but you will find many more. The blood pressure medicine Lisinopril 10mg does not require a prescription in any of the stores I have looked at. Currently most pharmacies are out of stock of both the brand name and generic name Lisinopril. Brand name price ranges around P70 to P75 per tablet while the generic names are around P20 to P35 per tablet. Please subscribe to ATP if you have not already for future information like this.

True, here in Manila is a bit higher.
Good day Linder and thank you for looking at ATP, viewing this video and commenting. I would agree with you that your income would afford you a very comfortable life style here in the Philippines. If you have not done so, you might think about a trip here and look around for that favorite retirement spot as there are many beautiful ones to choose from. I’ll be posting my 2024 Retirement Cost Of Living video in February so stay tuned for that one. Please subscribe to ATP if you have not already for future information like this.

Can I move all furniture to a container ship to the Philippines?
Good day Shylin and thank you for looking at ATP and viewing this video and offering your question. I can only speak from the perspective of a Special Resident Retirement Visa (SRRV) recipient. Upon receiving my SRRV and outbriefing from the Philippine Retirement Authroity, I received the "Certification and Undertaking" form authorizing me to import household goods/personal effects worth US$7,000.00 within ninety (90) days from date of issuance SRRVisa. This form # is PRA-SD-Form-0009 and you might find it on the Philippine Retirement Authority website. This process has a list of 9 requirements to meet.
I also find Electricity and gasoline to be the top two most expensive items on my monthly budget. However I am living comfortably for just shy of $2,000.00 a month 25km south of Cebu in Naga, Cebu. Please subscribe to ATP if you have not already to receive future information like this. Thanks for commenting and sharing your experiences. Stay safe and have a great day. 🙂🙂 NOTE: Dental cleaning is about P1,000 - $18 and a filling is about P1,500 - $27. This is at a clinic inside SM Seaside Mall.
Good day Chris and thanks for looking at ATP, viewing this video and providing your very useful information. Very good point about the start up costs and having the very important "rainy day fund" to cover the unexpected.

To me Philippines is a Christian country where English is very widely spoken.
Good day John and thank you for looking at ATP and viewing this video. Moving to the Philippines from Thailand after five years is a breath of fresh air in regards to language. The Philippines has the 2d highest English Proficiency in Asia and 27th globally and plays a key role in the hiring of Philippine nationals by international companies. With more than 80% of the Philippine population speaking English, it is a key factor why one might consider retiring here opposed to other ASEAN nations.
@@ATPAllThingsPhilippines-jb2050FYI even if you marry a Fil. you still can't be a PH citizen unless you're born & raised in PH Filipinos in general are not racist but PH gov. is
Good day Jose and thanks for following up with your information. I’ve read that foreign nationals “MAY” naturalize as Philippine citizens after meeting a minimum resident requirement of 10 years, acquiring real estate, demonstrating proficiency in either English or Spanish as well as a Philippine language, and fulfilling a good character requirement. Thanks for commenting and sharing your views. Stay safe and have a great day. 🙂🙂
@@ATPAllThingsPhilippines-jb2050If you don't believe the facts I've stated consult a PH lawyer or the PH Bureau of Immigration about it Foreigners can't own lands & real estate properties in PH I know an Italian engineer who's in PH since 1978 married to a Fil. & still was refused PH citizenship he was arrested & almost deported
- ALBURO LAW
Many foreigners do purchase "properties" in the Philippines such as condos or townhomes and have their names on the real estate contracts. What is not allowed is their name on real estate titles or real estate deeds or owning the physical land. To get around this land ownership issue, a foreigner can "Lease" the land for a period of time. Stay safe and have a great weekend. 🙂🙂
Self insurance is thee most logic way to insure in SE Asia.
Be cautious of any vologer pedalling an insurance agent or an insurance company, as these scum bags are getting kick back's (referral BS) its usually in their best interest, not your's

Avoid asking trike or tuc tuc or motorcycle taxi on advise on getting best deals, as you end up paying more for less
Likewise on majority of xpats, they too get their paws greased on kick backs or favors, while you pay for it
