Potential of solar energy

This summer, the largest solar power plant in the world went into operation. Its capacity is 6.09 GW and it’s located in Xinjiang, China. It’s located on an area of 33,000 acres. The power plant in Xinjiang is part of the Chinese Megabase project with a total capacity of 455 GW of wind and solar energy. In addition, China already operates two more largest power plants, Ningxia Tenggeli and Golmud Wutumeiren, each with a capacity of 3 MW.
