I darn sure love it…still have to much stuff though. I’ll be paring things down over this winter. Come spring Mimi and I should be ready to travel at a moment’s notice. Cheers mate!!! 🇳🇿🇺🇸
Good to hear from you again mate! Been awhile. The liner has a threefold purpose as far as I know. It creates a draft that helps draw the smoke out. Next it provides an extra layer of insulation when it’s cold. Lastly, without a liner and there is a fire, not only is it going to be a Smokey tipi but, the whole world can see everything you’re doing. Cheers!!!
@@jimbriggs3065 Thanks for the explanation. We use freestanding steel plates around our wood stove for the same convection effect to circulate the heat.
Thanks for the tutorial. Very cool to see the process
Cheers mate!!! I had to cut a fair bit out that actually is kinda important but it would have been way too long if I hadn’t.
My uncle lived in a tipi for 2 years. Thanks for sharing!

@davidneal6920 if you mean the Pecos Wilderness, I haven’t made it yet but it’s coming up.
That was fun and interesting. Enjoyed the ride on the rivers as well. All caught up. Where in New Mexico are you?

What purpose does the liner serve?
