Wish you luck, looks like the bugs are bad down there like here in Alaska. Surprisingly they haven’t been too bad this year but getting worse as it gets hotter. I’ll bet you will have a great time at Ft Union, been there a few years ago and was impressed. I pray God will keep you safe on your journey.
Cheers Rusty! Other than the ticks, the wind kept the bugs away. Except the evening of day four, then they were bad. I’m back in Minot after nine days of adventures. Lots more coming up. Cheers!!!
The first three days it was the ticks that were bad. The wind’s a bugger but it kept the mozzies away. The evening of day four however the mozzies and nats got bad. I had made it up near Ft. Union but couldn’t get up to the fort because of a swamp between the river and the fort so Mimi and I camped on a beach that night. A smoky fire helps but you have to stay in the smoke. The Corps of Discovery had mosquito netting and I had some too but I was too tired to dig it out so we just hid under a blanket and went to sleep. In the morning the wind had picked up again so the bugs were gone. Cheers mate!!!
