I'm 70 years old, I've lived in Kansas my entire life and there are so many things in the western part of Kansas I never knew even existed. I'm amazed😮
I am from western Kansas,, I am 50 years old and I have seen and been to every place they have shown
I'm 73 and live in eastern Ks and I never knew about this I think it is time I go look what is out there
Love Kansas..I have a second farm there... Love the small towns farms/ranches and oil wells.
Grew up there. Lots of huge parties at Cedar Bluff .... B-1 BOMBER out of Wichita Ks..used to fly over us all the time Back in the 80s. Was so Cool....
Only 3 years late, but bet you saw a dust cloud tornado, which we seen a few times when traveling through KS. From SE US with place in CO, and so mostly just drive KS. Everyone that travel across the state on I-70 hate it! For me it is heaven!!! I love the open space, the Ag, the diversity of the off I-70 places, open prairie, tallgrass, moving along at 80mph++ etc. Make a living from knowing O&G and seek out all the wells KS has to offer. What a great place!
Wow totally unexpected cool scenery in Kansas.... Great video... Thanks for sharing
You're very welcome! 😀
Thanks for visiting western ks. love your channel. We live in Oakley and love the badlands and the monument rocks!!!
Thank you 😀❤️... Yes those places are beautiful!
Don’t forget about the Flint Hills in east central Kansas. Totally cool.
Cedar Bluff is a nice lake , but you really need to check out Wilson Lake. It’s many time’s more beautiful.
Water is clear because of the rocky bottom.
@@kevinstreeter6943 water is clear because there is no farming going on upstream.
all grass prairie, raising cattle and hay
What a beautiful State and I love your introduction and I hope you have more to share. I was born in Garden City and raised in Chanute Kansas and have many family members throughout the wonderful state of Kansas.
I live in Garden City my daughter was born here in Garden City
I had never heard of Little Jerusalem Badlands State Park. That looks amazing. It's so funny how our preconceived notions of a state can blind us from even considering going somewhere (Kansas). lol
Kansas has a special spot in my heart. Really enjoyed this video! ❤️
That's so nice to hear! Did you grow up in Kansas?
Had no idea it had such beautiful terrain… more beautiful with you two in it
I did not even know that Kansas looked like that in my mind I just expected to be grass everywhere thank you so much for the content to enjoy and something to learn
Surprising right? 😲❤️
The vast majority of Western Kansas is exactly what you were thinking.. an endless flat barren treeless windy wasteland. What they're showing you is a tiny pocket in the middle of thousands of square miles of absolutely nothing.
@@JakeKoenigI use to travel for work, there are a lot of beautiful places in Kansas.
Discovery-when you find new things that you didn’t expect or know were there. Thanks for sharing your discovery.!
So glad you enjoyed this little slice of earth that I call home.
Keep coming East. Wilson Lake, Garden of Eden, largest Chec egg. Flint Hills and Kanza Prairie. Waconda Springs.
Looks like a fun park to explore.
God bless you and
your family
Nice video. I've been meaning to visit Kansas again for a couple years. Maybe this September.
Nice one, as always! Thanks…
You probably saw a Dust Devil, not a Tornado. Dust Devils can get pretty big. Thanks for shining some good light on Kansas!
What a great trip - who knew that Kansas was more than just miles and miles of wheat?
We thought the same! 😂😂
We need a Nebraska and Oklahoma video, both are even more surprising.
One of the most surprising parts of Oklahoma is Quartz Mountain State Park. Nice place in western Oklahoma. Small mountains, but mountains nonetheless. Will be going there in May for a weekend.
Oklahoma is blessed with 2 mountain ranges. The Wichitas in the west and Ouchitas in the east. Other notable geography includes Black mesa, salt flats, little Sahara, ozark plateau(Greenleaf, Sequoyah, Robbers cave, Tenkiller), Gloss mountains, Gypsum hills, Lake Texoma, Black kettle National Grassland, Boiling Springs, Beaver bend, and Broken bow lake.
In Nebraska there are 2 main escarpments The pine ridge in Northwest Pandhandle and the wildcat hills in the south west Pandhandle. The pine ridge is home to fort Robinson, Chadron, toadstool, Oglala grassland, and Nebraska National forest-Pine ridge district. In the wild cat hills there is Scottsbluff, chimney rock, court hous/Jail house rocks. In northern nebraska There is the Niobrara River with numerous spring fed creeks and Lewis and Clark lake. 1/4 of Nebraska is the Sandhills(dismial river, Middle/North/South loup rivers, Halsey forest, Lake McCoungy, and Merriet resviour)and some table lands in the center. Next to Omaha we have Indian cave Robbers cave, and platte river.
Those side x sides look so fun!!
I'm thankful for all the nothingness in between the attractions because it keeps the numbers lower. I mean, I love Kansas but we don't need anymore people. Can you tell I love wide open spaces? haha
Excellent video!!
Thank you!
Great video.. I will be making my way there this week!
Enjoy!
Wowsers in UK we imagine just flat cornfields, this is amazing 🌽😎
Kansas is NOT flat.. Long gradients up and down..
I've lived in Kansas my whole life. This is a really nice video and I appreciate them for doing this. Unless you like wind, prairie, and barren landscape, don't plan a vacation to western Kansas though.
“Toto, I’ve a feeling we’re not in Kansas anymore!”
Wow 😍😍😍
grew up in western ks and seen non of these
Nice shots w the camera m8
I live in Wichita Kansas. Never knew about this place 🙄🙄
Ohhhh gawd........I grew up in Kansas. Moved to Florida in 2008. Now Florida is worse than Kansas.
Moving back in a few months. Family ranch primed for my retirement. World isn't what it used to be and its going to get much worse. Get where you want to be, hunker down. There a big collapse coming. Being away fromajor population centers means your survival.
I too am a Kansas farm kid from eastern Ks. Now that I am 2 weeks from 65, heading out west for the same reason, lock-n-load!
There's 3 kinds of sun in Kansas, sunflowers, sunshine and sons-a-bitches
The music junked another video along with all the slow motion👎👎👎👎👎💩💩💩💩😬
Couldn't have possibly chosen more annoying music could they?
Thanks for visiting and enjoying 1/2 of my part of the world,,,,the other half is Eastern Colorado there is some very amazing things to see in Eastern Colorado,,, I suggest starting at Two Buttes,, I have grown up in both Western Kansas and Eastern Colorado
