    “I would love it very much if you did visit before you left.” Is there anything wrong with this sentence? She hasn’t left yet. I’m not sure about “before you left.” Is it “before you leave?” I hope that you will see this. Doubt is killing me. Thank you so much, Emma. Be blessed!

      No.2 is incorrect. You must use (would+Verb Infinitive) so would ASK not ASKED.

    Teacher, If i were you, I would say the structure of the second conditional is "If + past simple and would + base form instead of the infinitive. It's nice to see so well, keep safe.

      As far as I know, after modal verbs (will, can, would, and etc) are followed by a bare infinitive. Am I right?

      Sigit Purnama Correct. The ‘bare infinitive’ and ‘base form’ are different ways of expressing this verb form

      @@mmmEnglish_Emma Dear teacher, That was very clumsy of me. I didn't mean to correct you. I just wrote a sentence with 'if' as you asked trying to show you that I'm confused. above that, I never heard about 'bare infinitive'. You know you're my best teacher.

      The young lady is focusing on the form rather than the meaning of the conditional. If I won a lottery I would buy a posh car. What's the meaning? This is something unlikely to happen. I'm not going to win a lottery and I will not buy a posh car. Ma'am may agree with this grand old foreign learner of English.

      Lisa, great work! Here are a few corrections:
      3. If you asked me to buy, I would buy 👉 you need an object with the verb "buy": If you asked me to buy *(...what?)*,
      4. I would take you with me if I would have enough costs 👉 don't use 'would' in both clauses (just the main clause) and use the noun "money". Correct sentence: I would take you with me if I *had* enough *money*

      Hi Lia, can you tell me a little more about WHEN you decided to "stay"? Your structure is correct but it may not be in the context that you mean. In order to really understand if you are communicating what you want to communicate, it is imporatnt to know more about your context. Thanks

      ​@@NDBharat123 ... I think it´s a question of degree of expectation. In 1, you don´t expect it to stop raining, but in 2, you are fairly confident that it will stop relatively soon. I hope that helps a little bit.

      Tran Quynh if you wanna use an adjective after the subject, i think you should use WAS. On the other habd, if you wann use a subject, then in this case you have to use WERE.

      When you use ‘overcome’ you need to include an object to say WHAT you are overcoming.
      In your sentence it could be ‘it’ or ‘the virus’

      @@loganwalker454 Yes, Adnan your finding is correct. In the sentence that I corrected, the possessive of plural noun is used. Without the correction, the sentence would mean that the doctor would sacrifice his life for only one COVID-19 patient.
      Singular: Patient
      Possessive: Patient's
      Plural: Patients
      Possessive: Patients'
      I have not explained the complete rules of how to make possessive of all types of nouns; nevertheless, this portion should be able to guide learners to some extent in the right direction.
