I saw Floyd three times. At these concerts there are 18 year olds and 75 year olds. Appeals to all! The Pulse show was amazing! As was the Division Bell. Nice reaction thank you for not pausing during Gilmour solos. Floyd takes us on a journey into the sea of our mind. No else comes close

I saw this tour at Sun Devil Stadium with 65,000 of my closest friends, and it was even better than the video. Floyd placed speakers around the perimeter of the stadium, so sounds came at you from anywhere. Also, the lights were almost another performer all night. They were very tightly synced to the music, and SO enhanced the show. You can see an example of this at the end of Gilmour’s second solo; when he’s bending notes, the lights flicker, and when he’s not, they burn steady. Out of the darkness, Pink Floyd brought their own reality, and for three hours they let us visit them there.
My dear sky you are a gorgeous young lady and you would have made a great hippie from the late 60s into the 70s I myself have followed Pink Floyd since the mid 60s and in my humble opinion are the greatest progressive rock band ever to leave these shores,and that live pulse concert at Earl's Court London you just showed from 1994 was the best live concert of any band in the world bar none and I was lucky enough to have been there.the light shows,the guitar solos, the songs,the videos on the main circular screen on stage was just amazing it blew my mind the crowd the atmosphere was electric.there songs make you think and question they make you cry they make you happy with delirium every song from that concert is a masterpiece,react to "high hopes" "sorrow" "keep talking" "comming back to life".one thing sky you must never ever do is pause a PinkFloyd guitar solo that is a no no happy listening.🇬🇧💕💕🤗🤗🤗

I have seen Pink Floyd live in Miami and in Cincinnati. I have also attended concerts of various other famous groups. My 2 most favorite concerts ever are Pink Floyd and Pink Floyd.
It's nice to see that young people appreciate and enjoy Pink Floyd. I subscribe. I saw them on the Pulse tour at Feyenoord Stadium, Rotterdam, Netherlands in 1994. It was a spiritual experience. I wanted them to never stop playing. I've been to a lot of concerts in my life, but this... this was the greatest show in the world ever. Period.
I know this song since '79 - I was 20 at this time - I always feel the same emotion when listening to it ! Tears are never far, I am so much touched by this guitar solo... That PULSE live version is even better with a very long 2nd solo, David Gilmour took the time to buid it, and your emotion goes higher and higher... as he plugs his guitar directly to your soul.... Best Damn Tour Ever! I saw them in Foxboro, MA in 1994, unbelievable show and this time the giant mirror ball that. opens up with lasers inside was on the ground in a tower near the mixing board as we were outside in a huge stadium . Tremendous versions of Wish You Were Here, Comfotably Numb and You Better Run were the encore after a complete and steller Dark Side of the Moon. 😁 The bonus for us in the first set was an unexpected run through Astronomy Domine! Thanks so much for doing Floyd, try a real nice 2 for one with Time & Great Gig in the Sky off of the studio Dark Side. It will move you if new or old. Awesome day today with you it, Enjoy! 😎
I was there too. I totally agree. I didn't want the show to end. It was misting at the show I attended and the lasers looked totally cool cutting through the mist. Run Like Hell was their final song.
Yup - I was at Earls Court in 1994 three nights after this was filmed. It remains the best concert I've ever been to. (And I've been to a lot!) The closest anyone has got to it since in a large concert was probably Muse in 2019. If you get the chance to see them do not hesitate.

Thank you so much for reacting to this. I was in high school here in North Carolina when this song first came out in 1979. I remember it well. My girlfriend at the time and I loved attending concerts. It was one of the things we loved doing together. My wife did the same thing during that time period as well. There were a huge number of wonderful groups at the time and concerts were not very expensive to attend. Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Boston, Journey, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Triumph, 38 Special, Foreigner, and many others. I cannot describe to you what a wonderful time it was to be young then compared to today. We were happier, relationships were closer, life was more carefree, and the music was spectacular. Our 4 adult children (28-33) love 70’s/80’s music just as we do. My heart just aches that young people will not get to experience life as we did as teenagers in the 70’s/80’s. Again, thank you so much for posting this video. It was a wonderful treat.
Sky, I was at the Dark Side of the Moon/Wish You Were Here tour in San Francisco in '75! STILL...the best show I've ever been at and experienced. The '70's were the best!
I have been to many a Pink Floyd concert, starting with their sun set/sun rise open air festivals in the UK . Everyone eclipsing the last. Saw them in Den Haag (Holland) about 1987 or 88 and it all started with two bi-planes doing an aerial dance and actually flying into the arena. Saw this concert at the Mile High stadium in Denver. The world's largest disco ball actually grew from the stadium floor, and then opened like a flower. Amazing. Also, this was when the old airport was "in town (Stapleton)" and they diverted all incoming flights to land from the east because of all the lasers! ... There was never a band like them, and I doubt there ever will be again.
i have seen pink floyd live 4 times. first time 1980 earls court london ( the wall ) after that 3 times in the netherlands.. also the pulse concert'... all were great. and afier 45 years of beeing a fan i still listen everything again and again...
1987 , 3 nights at the Montreal Forum and then they came back at the end of the tour in 1988 1 night at the Olympic stadium, was also there all the nights...went to see them in Toronto also...back in those days, tickets were affordable, and the shows were...you saw what they were...just magical...keep on rocking and welcome to an amazing voyage...with Pink Floyd, thank you for posting...new sub here
Saw them live in June 1975 in my hometown of Hamilton, Ont Canada (snuck in, 16 yrs old!), then this tour in Toronto. Saw Roger waters a few years ago in Toronto as well. All awsome shows.
I too was there and bought the t-shirt (and giant poster). It was incredible. I would never sell my merch and PF albums but I know it would run into $thousands! Comfortably numb is about a rock star on drugs and needs a 'shot' to perform. Whilst 'spaced out' he remembers a time, when young, when he was very ill in bed. He likens his current state to that time. An absolute must for a PF fan is to watch 'The Wall' the movie, starring Bob Geldolf as Pink.
Sky, you make an excellent point about the "sound" of the band. The sonics. I wasn't at this concert in '94. However, I saw them in '74 and that concert remains the most impressive gig sonically that I have ever been to. Right from their early years, Pink Floyd were rightly renowned for their advances in sound quality, lighting and the use of video backdrops.

I was there for their concert in Berlin, and of course at the Pulse tour. What you don't see, is the "little" round light thingy, during the show, was a screen for movies to introduce their songs. I wish I could have taken my kids to see this, but they weren't born yet. My dad who introduced me to PF will die within the next 2 days, and for his funeral I've decided to play "Great Gig In The Sky"... when carrying out the casket. He lost speech and communication 10 years ago, but that track shows that you don't have to say any words to say a LOT...
I was at that tour. Oakland, CA April 20, 1994. At my show, the mirrorball opened up all the way during the solo at the end then closed back up again. When it was closing, the light looked like a giant set of teeth devouring the crowd at the colosseum. So unbelievably surreal to see
I saw them in Pasadena on the 17th. I sat a few feet from the giant disco bowl. The sound of hydraulics made me jump. It was one of the best concerts I’ve been to in my life. The experience was enhanced by the use of illicit (at the time) substances.
Not this tour, but their first performance of the DSOTM tour in 1973 in Madison, WI. It also was my first concert I'd ever attended. The good: Man, it was PINK FLOYD! The bad: Every other concert I attended was just that, just another concert.
I've been listening to PF since 1971! First live concert I saw them in was the second British Rock Gathering in Germersheim, Germany, May of 1972. PF has a lifetime of music for us to enjoy. THEY ARE TIMELESS.....
Saw them twice. First was pre-Dark Side of the Moon and nobody knew who they were - mebbe 500 people there. Second was Dallas and was basically this show. Both were EPIC.
Saw Yes, Genesis and Jethro Tull (seven times each) and all had amazing live shows, but Pink Floyd and "Comfortably Numb" was the most gobs-macking experience of my concert-going life (and second place was not even close). Give Yes ("Roundabout"), Genesis (Firth of Fifth") and Jethro Toll ("Locomotive Breath") a listen. The '70's was an amazing decade for Prog Rock and those three along with Pink Floyd did a lot of experimenting and pioneering you can still hear in music today.
You are correct that Roger waters came down sick. His hands swelled up and was in sever pain. He was suffering from Hepatitus. They gave him medication to feel better, but was able to play afterwards at that performance. So the song was never about drugs, or even about masturbation (hands felt like two balloons) that some people allege, which is a pretty sick concept. He said he couldnt feel the fret board of his bass with his fingers. However with 15,000 people shouting and screaming didnt seem to notice. Roger Waters left the group in 1985, he was the writer of the lyrics of this song, and David Gilmour also had lyrics. They had such a fight about it that Roger left to go on his own. So Roger was not in this performance. And for those wondering about the rotating mirrors on the stage. Those were the Gibson Maestro Rover RO-1 revolving speakers. One of them was revolving near David Gilmour.
I got to see Pink Floyd Back in 88 it was from their concert of Delicate Sound of Thunder and I have to tell you until you see a Pink Floyd concert you have not seen nothing they put on a display like no other band can. The concert was at the Georgia Tech stadium in Georgia and they blew me away. One thing for certain they know the history of Pink Floyd. Pink Floyd started up in 1966. It was Rodger Waters, Gary Wright, Nick Mason and one of the band member that I don't remember his name exactly. It was either 1969 or 1970 when David Gilmour came into the band. From there on Pink Floyd was not the same. David Gilmour was the one he really brought Pink Floyd to life. And you're right the 70s were amazing, especially with the lot of the older Pink Floyd music. You have album obscured by clouds, animals, wish you were here, their album meddles, the wall and the one that became the biggest hit of all the Dark Side of the Moon. They came out with some more music in the 80s one that remembers called momentary lapse of reason which was another big hit. If you had the opportunity and time for you should watch the whole entire pulse concert. That would be my request to you and you'll be glad you did. God bless!
I saw this concert (Pulse) in Lisbon. Around 2.5 hours of ecstasy. I remember that in the middle of the set-list they perform the entire álbum The dark side of the moon.
The last tour of Pink Floyd, I saw the tour in NewOrleans super dome, the best ever show and David is amazing, the whole show was great. Each song was fantastic , after seeing over 100 artist, no one can touch this show, grew up on Allman 8:26 brothers and all Capricorn artist,but this just made me think of the beauty, we have lost music in the 2023,any ways the dvd the dvd sold 7 times platinum.
I met David Gilmour in 1984 back stage at a concert in Hollywood Calif. He gave me a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shook both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well, better than any other guitarist I know, and I know all the great ones.
Saw them twice in 89 so then had to chase them around the country in 94 and saw that show 4 times. Also got to see performance of THe Wall. Best shows I ever saw with the exception of Queen. Comfortably Numb best song live ever
I have seen the same show live on Pusle Tour, and an oldest show years before. Each concert is a big trip of sound and light with an spectacular quadraphonic sound. Unforgetable.
I first heard their quadraphonic sound at the Rainbow Theatre in London, circa 1972/73 and everyone's minds were totally blown the way they used it. Brilliant. Quadraphonic "Be Careful with that axe, Eugine" was a trip and a half.
Yes, I was there. Still the best live show I have been to yet, followed by the Eagles, Hell Freezes Over tour, followed by the Rolling Stones, Tatoo You tour. Have seen lots and lots of bands live, and been to some awesome shows, but this was life alteringly good! Glad you took a small PF journey.
I saw this same show in N.Y. 1994. The concert brochure said the stage is 120 feet wide. It takes a crew of 60 technicians three days to set up the entire lights and all. The concert schedule required that there had to be three entire crews to keep up. They leap frogged each other for 92 shows with 20 Trucks per crew and a total staff of 195. The tour cost the promoters $98.MILLION to put on, but the total profit was $260 MILLION… I have seen Pink Floyd 4 times. Nick Mason’s drumming is incredible and matches Gilmour’s guitar emotions while Richard Wright takes us on a Magic Carpet Ride of tones that form the foundation of it all.
Pink Floyd fan since 1969 when I was a freshman in high school. Loved them every day since, One of my top 5 bands of all time. I saw them 4 times, twice with Roger Waters in the Boston Garden in 1975 & 1977. Saw the Gilmour led band in 1987 & 1994 (Pulse tour). I also saw David Gilmour twice in a week on his solo tour in the mid 80s and saw Roger Waters 4 times, the first time he had Eric Clapton on lead on the Pros & Cons of Hitchhiking tour, was cool seeing him take a crack at Floyd solos. 😊 So I have seen Dark Side, Wish You Were Here & Animals by Floyd and Dark Side and The Wall by Roger. You could say I'm a Floyd fan, LOL! They changed my life forever, Rock On, 😎 Vic.

Had the pleasure to see Roger Waters (solo) at the Hollywood Bowl about 10 years ago.... Such an incredible experience... He performed Dark SIde of the Moon in it's entirety plus other songs from Pink Floyd.... Blew me away... Got a great contact high, that's for sure... lol..... Never saw Pink Floyd with both Gilmore and Waters, but I know someone who witnessed this in 1994 at Yankee Stadium..... getting back to Comfortably Numb, one of Floyd's greatest songs, plus one of the greatest guitar solos ever done... Definitely need to light one up when listening to the FLOYD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes I was at this show, a little background for you. The big mirror ball at the end was covered in a black cloth for the whole show, so it was a big surprise for everyone there. also all Floyd shows are performed in Quadraphonic (Surround Sound). and you are correct this song was originally written by Gilmour and Roger Waters added the words. There is no chance now of ever seeing the Floyd live but the nearest you can get is to go and see a Roger Waters show. Great reaction Sky.
In the Comfortably Numb Pulse concert, you saw 3 members of Pink Floyd from the 1960’s performing live at around age 50. The 1994 technology of their light show looks more advanced than what you would see in today’s technology.

I saw this tour in Vancouver BC with 80,000 others... i was on 2 hits of LSD... when the lights dimmed, EVERYONE pulled out a pipe or a joint and started passing. No one left with the same pipe that they came with. NO band has ever lived up, amazing.

I've seen Metallica w/ Suicidal Tendencies and Danzig, Def Leppard w/ Tripping Daisy, Bon Jovi, Within Temptation and Delain w/ Kamelot and another band I forget. Hoping I get to see Nightwish this year also....
Pulse concert is simply the best live music show! In 1994, Pink Floyd were in Prague (Czech Republic) with this show. I bought a ticket and the day before the concert I got sick, so I couldn't go. It rained all day but everyone who was there then said it was fantastic. I still cry when I remember that!
I was there, that very night. The only time I ever saw them live, and easily the best concert I've ever experienced. Over two hours, with a break halfway through, then this was the 2nd song of the three-song encore. You can make out, even on the video, the gasp from the audience as that whole circular lighting truss (which had been a projection screen for most of the show and weighed several tons, right over the heads of the performers) started moving to rotate down from vertical to horizontal. Then when that ball was illuminated, minds were blown. It was like a star going supernova right over the centre of the arena. It remains the largest mirror-ball ever created, and the illumination is from 24 2Kw super-troupers - the most powerful spotlights available with flood to spot focusing at the time (and memorialised in the ABBA song by that name). They are huge and heavy, and use easily as much power again in cooling the lighting head and power supply. Note also that it isn't a one-off - That auditorium holds nearly 20,000 and they sold it out for a fourteen night run at the end of the tour, playing to over a quarter of a million people at that venue alone. I went to the same college (now part of Anglia Ruskin University) as David Gilmour and Syd Barret. Syd has a memorial stone in the wall of the arts building, where he studied. Every year I propose David for the vice chancellor's awards in two separate categories, lifetime achievement and contribution to the arts, and now my wife has graduated from there too, so she can second my nominations. I'll keep it up until he has both. There is no better-known alumnus of the college, and certainly, none come close in contribution to culture. The lasers for this tour were apparently an experimental design, much more powerful than anything previously made and from Canada - when Pink Floyd heard about them, they leased every single one in existence for the tour, so they were, quite literally, irreplaceable. Sadly, Earl's Court is gone to housing developers as it was disgracefully allowed to fall into disrepair despite being listed. It was so large it extended into three London boroughs, had two stops on the underground, and its own electricity substation, upgraded several times over the decades of its existence. Pink Floyd extracted all the available power for all their gigs, and this was no exception. Apparently, the national grid had their timetable listed so that they would know when to bring power online and when to reduce it after the show. Coping with the fluctuations was apparently tricky! Epic seems inadequate.
I was there then night this was recorded. It was the most amazing concert I have ever seen, you don't only hear and see the music, but you actually feel it. It is said that Dave Gilmour doesn't plug his guitar into an amp, he plugs it into your soul. I cant really put into word what I felt and saw during this concert but I can never be topped.
Was at the Tampa show on the floor next to the disco ball. Still have the ticket stub and can’t believe it only cost $35 to see this show. They set up surround sound in the freaking stadium. They would throw sounds all around you. No words how great this show was and the stage was massive.
I have been to 3 Pink Floyd concerts. The first one was the original the wall concert back in February 1980 with the classic lineup. The second time was at the momentary lapse of reason concert in November 1987, and the last time at the division bell tour in April of 1994, which is the concert you just watched.
I saw Pink Floyd in Columbus, Ohio in May of 1994. I was 14, and my mom surprised my brothers and I with tickets. We had a great time, and my memories of that night are quite vivid. It was a magical night, and it's still the biggest and best concert I've been to. I still have the concert shirt and the ticket stub. Thanks for reacting to this. I was there! Vanderbilt Stadium Nashville Tennessee May 1994. It was what everyone says it was and more. I remember a lot of trippy sound effects going around the stadium before the show of babies crying and lawn mowers.
I was there at the Pulse Concert in Rotterdam. It was performed in a football stadium with no roof. Fun fact was, they got complaints from Schiphol Air-traffic control. Pilots were distracted by the lightshow. Apparently, the approach or take-off flightpath was taking them near Rotterdam. The concert itself was awesome of course. Best one I have ever witnessed. The Lightshow for the next number in the encore is even more over the top. Watch the "Run Like Hell" song.
I was in Indianapolis in 1994. It was incredible. Gilmour had written a demo for a solo project, that idea became comfortably numb after Waters wrote the lyrics. I think they did two weeks at Earls court.

I have seen Pink Floyd live in Miami and in Cincinnati. I have also attended concerts of various other famous groups. My 2 most favorite concerts ever are Pink Floyd and Pink Floyd.
It's nice to see that young people appreciate and enjoy Pink Floyd. I subscribe. I saw them on the Pulse tour at Feyenoord Stadium, Rotterdam, Netherlands in 1994. It was a spiritual experience. I wanted them to never stop playing. I've been to a lot of concerts in my life, but this... this was the greatest show in the world ever. Period.

That PULSE live version is even better with a very long 2nd solo, David Gilmour took the time to buid it, and your emotion goes higher and higher... as he plugs his guitar directly to your soul....

Best Damn Tour Ever! I saw them in Foxboro, MA in 1994, unbelievable show and this time the giant mirror ball that. opens up with lasers inside was on the ground in a tower near the mixing board as we were outside in a huge stadium . Tremendous versions of Wish You Were Here, Comfotably Numb and You Better Run were the encore after a complete and steller Dark Side of the Moon. 😁 The bonus for us in the first set was an unexpected run through Astronomy Domine! Thanks so much for doing Floyd, try a real nice 2 for one with Time & Great Gig in the Sky off of the studio Dark Side. It will move you if new or old. Awesome day today with you it, Enjoy! 😎
I was there too. I totally agree. I didn't want the show to end. It was misting at the show I attended and the lasers looked totally cool cutting through the mist. Run Like Hell was their final song.

Yup - I was at Earls Court in 1994 three nights after this was filmed. It remains the best concert I've ever been to. (And I've been to a lot!) The closest anyone has got to it since in a large concert was probably Muse in 2019. If you get the chance to see them do not hesitate.
I was there , i left deaf and blind LOL , best night of my life in music . Followed Floyd since my dad bought me the album of Meddle with Echoes on it . So many people happy crying including me i have to say
Thank you so much for reacting to this. I was in high school here in North Carolina when this song first came out in 1979. I remember it well. My girlfriend at the time and I loved attending concerts. It was one of the things we loved doing together. My wife did the same thing during that time period as well. There were a huge number of wonderful groups at the time and concerts were not very expensive to attend. Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Boston, Journey, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Triumph, 38 Special, Foreigner, and many others. I cannot describe to you what a wonderful time it was to be young then compared to today. We were happier, relationships were closer, life was more carefree, and the music was spectacular. Our 4 adult children (28-33) love 70’s/80’s music just as we do. My heart just aches that young people will not get to experience life as we did as teenagers in the 70’s/80’s. Again, thank you so much for posting this video. It was a wonderful treat.
Sky, I was at the Dark Side of the Moon/Wish You Were Here tour in San Francisco in '75! STILL...the best show I've ever been at and experienced. The '70's were the best!

I have been to many a Pink Floyd concert, starting with their sun set/sun rise open air festivals in the UK . Everyone eclipsing the last. Saw them in Den Haag (Holland) about 1987 or 88 and it all started with two bi-planes doing an aerial dance and actually flying into the arena. Saw this concert at the Mile High stadium in Denver. The world's largest disco ball actually grew from the stadium floor, and then opened like a flower. Amazing. Also, this was when the old airport was "in town (Stapleton)" and they diverted all incoming flights to land from the east because of all the lasers! ... There was never a band like them, and I doubt there ever will be again.
i have seen pink floyd live 4 times. first time 1980 earls court london ( the wall ) after that 3 times in the netherlands.. also the pulse concert'... all were great. and afier 45 years of beeing a fan i still listen everything again and again...

1987 , 3 nights at the Montreal Forum and then they came back at the end of the tour in 1988 1 night at the Olympic stadium, was also there all the nights...went to see them in Toronto also...back in those days, tickets were affordable, and the shows were...you saw what they were...just magical...keep on rocking and welcome to an amazing voyage...with Pink Floyd, thank you for posting...new sub here

Saw them live in June 1975 in my hometown of Hamilton, Ont Canada (snuck in, 16 yrs old!), then this tour in Toronto. Saw Roger waters a few years ago in Toronto as well. All awsome shows.

I too was there and bought the t-shirt (and giant poster). It was incredible. I would never sell my merch and PF albums but I know it would run into $thousands! Comfortably numb is about a rock star on drugs and needs a 'shot' to perform. Whilst 'spaced out' he remembers a time, when young, when he was very ill in bed. He likens his current state to that time. An absolute must for a PF fan is to watch 'The Wall' the movie, starring Bob Geldolf as Pink.
I saw them when I was 21 year's old in 1981 in the old Miami baseball stadium. I'm 61 now and love them more now than I did then. 🐊🌴🌄
Sky, you make an excellent point about the "sound" of the band. The sonics. I wasn't at this concert in '94. However, I saw them in '74 and that concert remains the most impressive gig sonically that I have ever been to. Right from their early years, Pink Floyd were rightly renowned for their advances in sound quality, lighting and the use of video backdrops.

I was there for their concert in Berlin, and of course at the Pulse tour. What you don't see, is the "little" round light thingy, during the show, was a screen for movies to introduce their songs. I wish I could have taken my kids to see this, but they weren't born yet. My dad who introduced me to PF will die within the next 2 days, and for his funeral I've decided to play "Great Gig In The Sky"... when carrying out the casket. He lost speech and communication 10 years ago, but that track shows that you don't have to say any words to say a LOT...
Saw them twice. Momentary Lapse of Reason and Pulse. Took my mom to the Pulse show. She passed away abot a year after this.

I was at that tour. Oakland, CA April 20, 1994. At my show, the mirrorball opened up all the way during the solo at the end then closed back up again. When it was closing, the light looked like a giant set of teeth devouring the crowd at the colosseum. So unbelievably surreal to see

I saw them in Pasadena on the 17th. I sat a few feet from the giant disco bowl. The sound of hydraulics made me jump. It was one of the best concerts I’ve been to in my life. The experience was enhanced by the use of illicit (at the time) substances.

Not this tour, but their first performance of the DSOTM tour in 1973 in Madison, WI. It also was my first concert I'd ever attended. The good: Man, it was PINK FLOYD! The bad: Every other concert I attended was just that, just another concert.
I've been listening to PF since 1971! First live concert I saw them in was the second British Rock Gathering in Germersheim, Germany, May of 1972. PF has a lifetime of music for us to enjoy. THEY ARE TIMELESS.....
Saw them twice. First was pre-Dark Side of the Moon and nobody knew who they were - mebbe 500 people there. Second was Dallas and was basically this show. Both were EPIC.
Saw Yes, Genesis and Jethro Tull (seven times each) and all had amazing live shows, but Pink Floyd and "Comfortably Numb" was the most gobs-macking experience of my concert-going life (and second place was not even close).
Give Yes ("Roundabout"), Genesis (Firth of Fifth") and Jethro Toll ("Locomotive Breath") a listen. The '70's was an amazing decade for Prog Rock and those three along with Pink Floyd did a lot of experimenting and pioneering you can still hear in music today.
You are correct that Roger waters came down sick. His hands swelled up and was in sever pain. He was suffering from Hepatitus. They gave him medication to feel better, but was able to play afterwards at that performance. So the song was never about drugs, or even about masturbation (hands felt like two balloons) that some people allege, which is a pretty sick concept. He said he couldnt feel the fret board of his bass with his fingers. However with 15,000 people shouting and screaming didnt seem to notice. Roger Waters left the group in 1985, he was the writer of the lyrics of this song, and David Gilmour also had lyrics. They had such a fight about it that Roger left to go on his own. So Roger was not in this performance. And for those wondering about the rotating mirrors on the stage. Those were the Gibson Maestro Rover RO-1 revolving speakers. One of them was revolving near David Gilmour.

I got to see Pink Floyd Back in 88 it was from their concert of Delicate Sound of Thunder and I have to tell you until you see a Pink Floyd concert you have not seen nothing they put on a display like no other band can. The concert was at the Georgia Tech stadium in Georgia and they blew me away. One thing for certain they know the history of Pink Floyd. Pink Floyd started up in 1966. It was Rodger Waters, Gary Wright, Nick Mason and one of the band member that I don't remember his name exactly. It was either 1969 or 1970 when David Gilmour came into the band. From there on Pink Floyd was not the same. David Gilmour was the one he really brought Pink Floyd to life. And you're right the 70s were amazing, especially with the lot of the older Pink Floyd music. You have album obscured by clouds, animals, wish you were here, their album meddles, the wall and the one that became the biggest hit of all the Dark Side of the Moon. They came out with some more music in the 80s one that remembers called momentary lapse of reason which was another big hit. If you had the opportunity and time for you should watch the whole entire pulse concert. That would be my request to you and you'll be glad you did. God bless!
I saw this concert (Pulse) in Lisbon. Around 2.5 hours of ecstasy. I remember that in the middle of the set-list they perform the entire álbum The dark side of the moon.

The last tour of Pink Floyd, I saw the tour in NewOrleans super dome, the best ever show and David is amazing, the whole show was great. Each song was fantastic , after seeing over 100 artist, no one can touch this show, grew up on Allman 8:26 brothers and all Capricorn artist,but this just made me think of the beauty, we have lost music in the 2023,any ways the dvd the dvd sold 7 times platinum.
I met David Gilmour in 1984 back stage at a concert in Hollywood Calif. He gave me a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shook both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well, better than any other guitarist I know, and I know all the great ones.
Saw them twice in 89 so then had to chase them around the country in 94 and saw that show 4 times. Also got to see performance of THe Wall. Best shows I ever saw with the exception of Queen. Comfortably Numb best song live ever
I have seen the same show live on Pusle Tour, and an oldest show years before. Each concert is a big trip of sound and light with an spectacular quadraphonic sound. Unforgetable.

I first heard their quadraphonic sound at the Rainbow Theatre in London, circa 1972/73 and everyone's minds were totally blown the way they used it. Brilliant. Quadraphonic "Be Careful with that axe, Eugine" was a trip and a half.

Yes, I was there. Still the best live show I have been to yet, followed by the Eagles, Hell Freezes Over tour, followed by the Rolling Stones, Tatoo You tour. Have seen lots and lots of bands live, and been to some awesome shows, but this was life alteringly good! Glad you took a small PF journey.

I saw this same show in N.Y. 1994. The concert brochure said the stage is 120 feet wide. It takes a crew of 60 technicians three days to set up the entire lights and all. The concert schedule required that there had to be three entire crews to keep up. They leap frogged each other for 92 shows with 20 Trucks per crew and a total staff of 195. The tour cost the promoters $98.MILLION to put on, but the total profit was $260 MILLION…
I have seen Pink Floyd 4 times. Nick Mason’s drumming is incredible and matches Gilmour’s guitar emotions while Richard Wright takes us on a Magic Carpet Ride of tones that form the foundation of it all.
Pink Floyd fan since 1969 when I was a freshman in high school. Loved them every day since, One of my top 5 bands of all time. I saw them 4 times, twice with Roger Waters in the Boston Garden in 1975 & 1977. Saw the Gilmour led band in 1987 & 1994 (Pulse tour). I also saw David Gilmour twice in a week on his solo tour in the mid 80s and saw Roger Waters 4 times, the first time he had Eric Clapton on lead on the Pros & Cons of Hitchhiking tour, was cool seeing him take a crack at Floyd solos. 😊 So I have seen Dark Side, Wish You Were Here & Animals by Floyd and Dark Side and The Wall by Roger. You could say I'm a Floyd fan, LOL! They changed my life forever, Rock On, 😎 Vic.

Pink Floyd is in my top three bands of all time.. You're right, there is nothing like great classic rock from the 70's... Had the pleasure to see Roger Waters (solo) at the Hollywood Bowl about 10 years ago.... Such an incredible experience... He performed Dark SIde of the Moon in it's entirety plus other songs from Pink Floyd.... Blew me away... Got a great contact high, that's for sure... lol..... Never saw Pink Floyd with both Gilmore and Waters, but I know someone who witnessed this in 1994 at Yankee Stadium..... getting back to Comfortably Numb, one of Floyd's greatest songs, plus one of the greatest guitar solos ever done... Definitely need to light one up when listening to the FLOYD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes I was at this show, a little background for you. The big mirror ball at the end was covered in a black cloth for the whole show, so it was a big surprise for everyone there. also all Floyd shows are performed in Quadraphonic (Surround Sound). and you are correct this song was originally written by Gilmour and Roger Waters added the words. There is no chance now of ever seeing the Floyd live but the nearest you can get is to go and see a Roger Waters show. Great reaction Sky.
In the Comfortably Numb Pulse concert, you saw 3 members of Pink Floyd from the 1960’s performing live at around age 50. The 1994 technology of their light show looks more advanced than what you would see in today’s technology.

I saw this tour in Vancouver BC with 80,000 others... i was on 2 hits of LSD... when the lights dimmed, EVERYONE pulled out a pipe or a joint and started passing. No one left with the same pipe that they came with. NO band has ever lived up, amazing.

Never saw Pink Floyd, but I do know relatives of mine who have seen them and plenty of other awesome shows I would have loved to see live such as Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Blue Oyster Cult and loads others.....
I've seen Metallica w/ Suicidal Tendencies and Danzig, Def Leppard w/ Tripping Daisy, Bon Jovi, Within Temptation and Delain w/ Kamelot and another band I forget. Hoping I get to see Nightwish this year also....
Pulse concert is simply the best live music show!
In 1994, Pink Floyd were in Prague (Czech Republic) with this show. I bought a ticket and the day before the concert I got sick, so I couldn't go. It rained all day but everyone who was there then said it was fantastic. I still cry when I remember that!
I was there, that very night. The only time I ever saw them live, and easily the best concert I've ever experienced.
Over two hours, with a break halfway through, then this was the 2nd song of the three-song encore.
You can make out, even on the video, the gasp from the audience as that whole circular lighting truss (which had been a projection screen for most of the show and weighed several tons, right over the heads of the performers) started moving to rotate down from vertical to horizontal. Then when that ball was illuminated, minds were blown. It was like a star going supernova right over the centre of the arena. It remains the largest mirror-ball ever created, and the illumination is from 24 2Kw super-troupers - the most powerful spotlights available with flood to spot focusing at the time (and memorialised in the ABBA song by that name). They are huge and heavy, and use easily as much power again in cooling the lighting head and power supply.
Note also that it isn't a one-off - That auditorium holds nearly 20,000 and they sold it out for a fourteen night run at the end of the tour, playing to over a quarter of a million people at that venue alone.
I went to the same college (now part of Anglia Ruskin University) as David Gilmour and Syd Barret. Syd has a memorial stone in the wall of the arts building, where he studied. Every year I propose David for the vice chancellor's awards in two separate categories, lifetime achievement and contribution to the arts, and now my wife has graduated from there too, so she can second my nominations. I'll keep it up until he has both. There is no better-known alumnus of the college, and certainly, none come close in contribution to culture.
The lasers for this tour were apparently an experimental design, much more powerful than anything previously made and from Canada - when Pink Floyd heard about them, they leased every single one in existence for the tour, so they were, quite literally, irreplaceable.
Sadly, Earl's Court is gone to housing developers as it was disgracefully allowed to fall into disrepair despite being listed. It was so large it extended into three London boroughs, had two stops on the underground, and its own electricity substation, upgraded several times over the decades of its existence. Pink Floyd extracted all the available power for all their gigs, and this was no exception. Apparently, the national grid had their timetable listed so that they would know when to bring power online and when to reduce it after the show. Coping with the fluctuations was apparently tricky!

I was there then night this was recorded. It was the most amazing concert I have ever seen, you don't only hear and see the music, but you actually feel it. It is said that Dave Gilmour doesn't plug his guitar into an amp, he plugs it into your soul. I cant really put into word what I felt and saw during this concert but I can never be topped.
Was at the Tampa show on the floor next to the disco ball. Still have the ticket stub and can’t believe it only cost $35 to see this show. They set up surround sound in the freaking stadium. They would throw sounds all around you. No words how great this show was and the stage was massive.

I have been to 3 Pink Floyd concerts. The first one was the original the wall concert back in February 1980 with the classic lineup. The second time was at the momentary lapse of reason concert in November 1987, and the last time at the division bell tour in April of 1994, which is the concert you just watched.

I saw Pink Floyd in Columbus, Ohio in May of 1994. I was 14, and my mom surprised my brothers and I with tickets. We had a great time, and my memories of that night are quite vivid. It was a magical night, and it's still the biggest and best concert I've been to. I still have the concert shirt and the ticket stub. Thanks for reacting to this. I was there! Vanderbilt Stadium Nashville Tennessee May 1994. It was what everyone says it was and more. I remember a lot of trippy sound effects going around the stadium before the show of babies crying and lawn mowers.
I was there at the Pulse Concert in Rotterdam. It was performed in a football stadium with no roof. Fun fact was, they got complaints from Schiphol Air-traffic control. Pilots were distracted by the lightshow. Apparently, the approach or take-off flightpath was taking them near Rotterdam.
The concert itself was awesome of course. Best one I have ever witnessed.

I was in Indianapolis in 1994. It was incredible. Gilmour had written a demo for a solo project, that idea became comfortably numb after Waters wrote the lyrics. I think they did two weeks at Earls court.
Nice reaction Sky! Never got to see them live, but Pink Floyd rocks, IMO one of the VERY few bands that can be compared to TOOL in terms of talent, songwriting, depth of lyrics & making you FEEL the music (being taken on a journey). Keep up the reactions ❤️
