One minor thing to note is that while the F-2 is a "variant" it does still have physical differences when compared with the F-16. Such as the wing area being about ~16% larger than the F-16's, the nose is longer and wider to accommodate a different radar system, and the most visual difference if those two are seemingly too minor to notice: The F-16 has a full single-piece canopy. While the F-2 has a three-piece canopy. Just figured I mention.
Oh and before I forget, Japan was originally not going for the F-16 as a basis for what would become the "F-2". They actually originally had a completely indigenous design by MHI for what was at the time the "FS-X" program. A homegrown delta wing(?) canard air superiority fighter. Unfortunately, behind the scenes politics with the United States derailed that design for what was supposed to be a "cheaper" alternative. The F-2 ended up way more expensive than a standard F-16, and this embarrassment was too much of a bitter memory for why Japan's upcoming F-3 program was initially an indigenous design that only became a test plane, to a joint effort in the Global Combat Air Programme with Britain and Italy.
3:31 I like to think that AC5’s Cypher is actually ACZ’s Cipher, just with a botched TAC name in Yuke databases, though this probably doesn’t make sense.
Good job as always. It's a shame you didn't do the ace thing before though, especially for the F-16 Family. Would have loved to have seen Silber and Wizard show up in that video. Looking forward to some of the new aircraft coming up. My only question is with the Series Original planes like the Morgan or Apalis, will they be in one big video, or in smaller videos covering each one individually
I may end up doing remastered versions of older episodes much later down the line to include things like the enemy aces and anything else I might add for episodes moving forward (right now I can't think of anything else I'd want to add. That's subject to change though). Right now I'm thinking for the original planes, each of them will be their own episode, though depending on how things go I may include multiple of them in a single one. I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.
Not really, no. The closest thing to NG+ that Assault Horizon has is Free Mission where aircraft that wouldn't be available during a normal campaign mission are there. The thing that makes the F-2A only available for Hostile Fleet is how Dogfight Mode works. Because Attacker planes in AH are not able to initiate DFM, and because how every other mission where you fly a plane needs you to use it at some point (namely against the TGT Aces where DFM is essentially the only way to take them down), Attacker planes are ineligible to complete the mission and thus not even listed as an available option.

I would love to see a detailed cockpit view of each aircraft
X-29 NEXT TIME?!?!? FUCK YEAH
Hype hype hype
Very well made video! Detailed and... uh... jets! Supporting as always haha
New Fulf vid! Time to rewatch it 10 times (+ the rest of the series) until the next episode comes out :'D
Hello hello hello comments, human being here.
G’day, Tassie devil here.
What a great series of videos!!!

What a good aircraft to fly!
30 years of Mitsubishi F-2A and Ace Combat series in 2025.
fun tidbit for AC04's F-2 - the English guide nicknames it the "Banshee."
cool
Hopefully we will get Ace Combat: Xi and Infinity fully playable on modern devices in our lifetime.

Maybe add honary mentions of games, like how the F-2 is in AC2 but only used by enemys.
Is there no NG+ in Assault Horizon at all??? What exactly makes this available in only one mission?
Either way, it's one of my midgame go to planes
