In case no one has said it, PSA: Camps / Camp Supplies are NOT a consumable, if you dont get attacked during the night you keep the camp you used. Don't be like me and safe yourself a lot of carried weight. ^^
Oh so you only need one? What’s the point of different types of camping kits?
Even if you're attacked you still keep your camping kit.
@@pjw4125 personal preference for immersion, the games max level is 999. It's an RPG. Have fun.
Dude I love you
Legendary PSA, I dip my hat to you ser
tip, use benches to progress time - you dont need to use inn or camp to move time forward. benches where you doze off are marked on mini map (and a red cloth on them)
This and the progression is so quick, it's not just an hour at a time but several hours
I sat on one and nothing happened. Is it bugged or is there something else to it?
@@codyjaymz sit, then select doze off (triangle on ps5)
@@TNovix2 Seems to be 6 hours per doze since 4 consecutive presses seems to be a day.
If you want to skip entire days with a single button press? Use he Oxcart waiting boards. They will always skip to the next morning without fail.
you can use pawns to "send to storage" your items without visiting an inn. Pack them full of stuff you don't want to carry and chuck em in a river
Very smart
I know it almost certainly doesn't matter, but unless a pawn has 'the thing' I always try to treat mine with respect and dismiss them with a gift for the other player.

@@matthewrobertson5342 haha yes, but this is actually a different NPC I'm referring to. The NPC named Gregor.
Have gone to lvl 22 with only now realising you have to "use" the gold bugs to increase carry weight..... thanks for the tips!
haha me too, thought about selling them at one point before i realized it
@@TheWeeeezer makes soooooo much sense with hindsight hahaha
Interesting. I found one and had no clue. I hope I didn’t sell it!
@@pjw4125 even if you sold one there are absolutely tons to be found in the wilderness. Travelling at night makes them much easier to find.
I feel dumb now. I thought they just worked by having them in the inventory 😂
Another great tip everyone is that you can buy a house that includes a storage chest very easily at the capital in Vermund, Vernworth for only 20k gold, and then you never have to pay to sleep at an inn in Vernworth ever again. NPC’s will also occasionally drop off gifts/rewards at the front door of your house.
You can also get one in bakbattahl for 30k
Played for 12 hours on Xbox ran into issues with the game frames locking up, but after a minute it it went back to normal. Waited for 12 years and absolutely loving it.
Same feeling on ps5, the game is far from being good on any aspects. The graphics are very nice, Yep 30 fps this is lame but i have a vrr on my TV. I notice ghosting on my character when i move camera Quickly.
But so far i enjoy my playthrough.

What's wrong with your Xbox? I've got like 50hrs+ on the game and haven't had any frame issues(except when I entered volcanic area for the first time). Its been solid on the frame side.
Pro tip. Farm game and stock up on meat close to town and store it. Always being two with you so it sours by the time you camp and you get better benefits
How would it souring give you better benefits I thought you can only make lantern fuel with rotten stuff?
I’m only a few hours in and haven’t camped yet btw

Pro tip: Save yourself $70 and don't buy this trash in the first place
Ive never played the first one but wanted to give this one a chance. I bought it on steam and seen so many negative comments about the micro transations for making a new character and other stuff. I have a 5700xt with ryzen 3600. The brightness whenever i started the game was low asf. I had to change screens in the settings and change it back so the brightness and color was back to normal. Which wasnt a problem really. I played about an hour and the game looked amazing. Cant wait till after work or maybe layer tonight to play more of it. Excited for whats to come.
Don't listen to the hate wagoners. Just look at a genuine dog sht game like FIFA, all these losers are quiet while ea literally copy pastes year after year. But they lose their shit over $30 of micro transactions that you can get in the game in the first 20 minutes LOL
Just play and enjoy this 10/10. They will all be calling it an amazing classic once the hate wagon moves on to the next game.
The transactions are only available from the home screen not in game. You can obtain any of those items in game without spending a penny. The game doesn't even bring it up.

Played yesterday on Xbox x for a solid 4 hours . Had no issues and graphics looked good . Honestly I had no complaints game is a 10/10 in my book . Best rpg I’ve played in a minute
I agree with you 100%
The writing is awful the voice acting likewise.
@tsavin tbf the first one was like that but the gameplay loop was always fun when you get into it. Combat is one of my favourite in any arpg
Ya I agree. Best since Elden ring. Although I feel like it might get old after awhile like Elden ring did especially since this game is much easier than Elden ring.
I love all the quests and activities and stuff in games though and my biggest complaint with Elden ring is that there is no way to track or know where to go in quests in Elden ring and you get nothing for the vast majority of them whereas at least this game allows you to track the quests even if it doesn’t hold your hand telling you exactly what to do.
I disagree
I seriously can't wait to get my hands on this. I'm still playing number 1 and this is a much bigger version of that. I'm gonna be hooked for months
Don't rush it. On pc between the DRM and poor optimization, it's a system crasher. They also made a bunch of terrible game design solutions to sell you a fix to the problem they intentionally created.
@@robkinney1974lol pc babies crying rn while my ps5 playing it without a single problem thus far 😂😂😂

Lol i took my time in DD1. The post game Ur Dragon online boss was kill by the online players who rush the game about a few millions times. The online Ur Dragons hp is on the billion. It's so hard to kill it by then. It took me a month just to get all the weapons and masks. I still remember staying at the dragon back cutting non-stop for 19-20mins seeing the hp bar not moving at all.😅
Would love to see you do an in-depth explanation on Dragon's plague and how to deal with it.
You don't need to hit capitol to change vocation, you can do it in the very first village
Not if you want the advanced vocations, the quest starts in the capital after all. 😊
Did he mean capital? As in once you have the capital (money)? That’s how I took it anyway.
@@KrystalWolf24 the capital city of Vermont.
He meant capital as in money, bro. Once you can afford to purchase the other vocations. He was not referring to the location in which you access them.
In vermund, they are 2 separate npcs, Inn and Vocation npc. In smaller villages, they are the same npc
Was watching a streamer with a 4090 and 64 gigs of ram and a 13900 and he was getting from 65 to 110 frames in 4K. It’s tough on the pc but a great game. The 65 was in major towns.
I have a 4090, 13900K and 32GB and on all max at 4K with DLSS off I get mostly 60 with drops into the 40’s in some areas. I just found it better to use DLSS Quality with max settings to never have to worry about fps dips. Looks great both ways.

Thx for the tips sir 👍
Cheers for the tips, a bit hath changed since DD2 ^^
Chose my mage vocation… and for my pawn I was wanting some sort of rank warrior… I big question/confusion…. This this type of pawn is any of the 4 inclinations better than the others?
It's up to preference and what you want your pawn to do. Kind spirited prioritizes supporting you, calm prioritizes their own survival and fights more defensively, etc.
@@TheLaggyBills simple runs around looting everything... great on archers as it will also make them hunt animals for meat and the last one is just super aggressive and does what they want with no regard for the party (might be good on a warrior so the warrior just charges in and soaks up damage)
I did not know you could craft lantern oil Ike that, great tip! U need lantern oil to craft tarring arrows
Good to know
Memorize where you find your first seekers token
you can actually just heal yourself even if it hits 0, as long as you don't hit the ground when that happens you can just ESC open item and heal yourself back.
You can actually kill the lesser dragon that attacked the town in Melve. Just run to the tower with the ballista at the far end of town and use the 'To Me' pawn command to gather all your pawns to the tower. Aim the ballista at the dragon and fire about 2-3 shots, it should kill the dragon and you can go down to the body to complete the quest as well as loot the dragon for a really good Duospear (for Mystic Spearhand). Do remember to talk to Sigurd to unlock the Mystic Spearhand class as well.
I’m only a couple of hours in but this game has been awesome so far
Solid brother thx
I really miss the old vocations from the first game. Assassin & Mystic Knight were my fav classes.
That in game steak looking good, hope they have some seasoning in game
There is a setting where when you combine items it will go straight to your storage really good way to keep your weight down
While in death animation you can open inventory fast and use a potion that will ressurect you without using wakestone. I used to leap from high ground die and directly use a healing item. Saves you time and wakestones
I think that was just being super low hp and the UI not showing the final red pixel of hp bar . The moment you die, it deactivates any potion consuming
@@KhrazeGaming I've definitely been hit hard enough to get put on 0, might depend on how it happens.. Regardless, it feels cheap, so I try to not do it for anything important.
18:04 either that or make sure you rest at the inn frequently, every time you go back to town.
Big tip: when you die if you pause the game before your arisen has hit the ground and then take healing items. Basically as long as you’ve got healing items you’re invulnerable. Out of them? Pause before falling, craft and heal. Haha, works great!
Another tip is use the Inn and save. It sucks that it cost so much gold but i lost a days worth of work cause i i glitched into a rock and had no ferrystones. My last autosave was in that rock. Had to go all the way back from the last time i was at a Inn.
Saving by resting in the inn is good because it's the only save which you have control of. Pretty much anything you do in the game overwrites your "last save". So if you want to test something, like progressing the main story and check if those side quests you wanna do but not now will fail or not, resting at the inn is the way to go.
4:50 my first OX Car ride was smashed by a griffin 😢. I died 😂
I played three hours yesterday. I’m going to restart the game because my character is fugly. It’s more important than you think to make your main character and main pawn appealing.
you cant :)
LOL you have to PAY for that. Whip out that credit card son!
Delete your save, done. I did it last night.
Remember to turn off Cloud saves if on steam, I made a new character last night cause it looked like sh*t. Then played 3-4 hours. Today I loaded up steam and it overwrited it.. so now I made a new character the 3rd time and backup my saves.
@@Joe-no7gsyou can change your characters appearance easily by just playing the game. But no one knows that because they didn’t play DD1, they just see MTX and cry.
You can find a dragons gaze at the top of the castle before even getting it from brant. Also load last in save should include camping sites as well id rather take a ambushbsave over a terrible save that happened from auto save.
I have SO many dragons gaze by now. It's crazy how many are in the game
@@ExileTwilight for being a permanent item indeed
If you actually have a pawn change their outfit, it gives a message saying that the items you put on them and the original items will be given to the other player once dismissed. You can gift other players armor this way to my knowledge.
Tip hold L1 and hit left on the dpad to quickly open the inventory.
Its important to note. The vocation you use levels your stats. Meaning a fighter gives strength over other kinds of vocations. So the one you use is Important to what you are going to use at endgame which will make it easier or harder depending on the enemies you are facing aswell as the vocation you are using. Blah blah min max only blah blah, thats incorrect as your stats like stamina and how much mana/dmg you do is directly linked to the leveling process. You also CANNOT reset your level. Only deleting your character and starting from level one is a fix to this.
So if you want to be a sorcerer pick the mana/spell using classes. If you want non magic ranged class, strength classes and stamina classes are the ones you want to level. Keep this in mind when playing, unless you just dont care and want to just game with no real reason to be strong or more powerful.
Does this mean if I levelled to 30 with Thief, and then switch to Warrior, by the time I reach 60 the additional increases I got from Warrior will be equivalent to reaching level 30 as Warrior?
@@jojipoji2322 The commenter you responded to is actually incorrect. What they described was true for Dragon's Dogma 1, but now the stats are independent for each vocation. In your scenario when you reach level 60 and switch to warrior, your stats will be that of a lv60 warrior, not 30, even if you had played the first 30 levels as a thief.
My biggest issue with the game is that you can't start a new game whenever you want. This option alone added to well over 30K hours to my play in DDDA.
My second issue, is the damage you take while out exploring. This means that you have to rest in order to continue to explore. If you need to run back to an inn or a campsite, then trying to pick up where you left off makes it incredibly hard to find where you were. There are way too many paths, side paths, cliffs to climb, & places to explore. I like going everywhere.
Don't understand people complaining about the graphics. Look stable to me. Sure, deer spawning randomly in front of me is funny but I like it.../)
Not a single person has complained about the graphics. They are comolaining about performance and the microtransaction store they put in the game
Ehhh, there is 1 instance where the graphics sucks and that's when looking at your character in the store menu. Otherwise I have been having a blast in this game
What confuses me is the graphics aren't that amazing ( which I'm fine with) yet is so demanding on my PC. I am also having very strange blurs around everything such as characters and buildings. I had to rub my eyes thinking It was me lol. I'm running a medium to high pc that handles any game I've thrown on it at high or ultra but this one I need to almost drop to low which is insane
Having a Thief with plunder is a great way for farming. I ran 2 Thiefs with plunder and a mage while I am a fighter.
Another tip - because the game is a bit buggy right now, if you are fast enough to use Salubrious Draught in your quick item slot as your health hits 0, you "dont die"
3:18 No, most do NOT have this ability. It is entirely dependent on whether that pawn you’re looking at has completed your current quest at any point in their past with their original player or with others.
How mad i was when i was lvl 9 and clicked load from last resting spot or whatever ... lost all my data 😂 Make sure to not click that if u dont sleep somewhere often. It must of auto saved immediately after loading in because when i clicked back in under continue from last save it was gone. 😂
Had no idea you could only make 1 character figured there was at least a "new game" option lol rip that play through
They have to change that at some point, game is doomed if not
Yeah, they did the same for the first game. It sucked having to switch PS accounts to play my different maxed characters.
I disagree with tip 14.
Don’t upgrade your first couple sets of gear. You don’t need to and it is a waste of material and money. Just use what you have and you’ll have to make a few extra swings. If you just wait until the next couple towns and spend everything you saved on the best gear you’ll only have to upgrade one or maybe two sets the entire game.
I killed the guy who gives maelstrom and now I can’t get it bc I can’t find his grave site 😭 I had used salamander on his bc I was mad and couldn’t get it then figured out how to get in within like 5 minutes after that. Went back and he wouldn’t stop attacking me so I killed him… and I was literally just lecturing myself, right before this, on not killing npcs anymore bc they might be important😂
I think you can use one of those stones that resurrect dead ppl
How to make the mage pawn imbued elements in my meele weapons? Like fire and electricity .
accidently randok run in a dragon that killed all my guys.... follow3d by me losing my camp 🏕 because it was with one of the pawn...so it was send to storage.

Playing with 4070 ti.. frames seem fine on max settings
I kinda miss the ' Master wolfs' from DG1 lol
How dose calm make a good tank? Only asking as I am thinking on making my pawn calm from straitforward
Calm Favors defense and evasion, clever tactics to survive.
Someone else said start as Archer, bc there’s a quest only available to them, that gives a skill or something that’s important?
it's a shame there's so many haters, the game is great, you don't need to spend $ on micro transactions, the performance issues will be fixed..
The fast travel is problematic, I haven’t got time to be farting around through the open road. I spent ages exploring, no camp set and just slowly losing health with no place to settle or fast travel out of there.
Did you play sonic the hedgehog? Yea I did too
About the moldy food. Haven't gotten the game yet cause at work ATM. Like in DD1 did anyone try moldy carrot gold farm? And does it work?
Not watched all the videos yet but the classes determine how your stats grow so if you level as a mage but want to be a warrior you will end up with a lot less damage
Considering the max level is 999 I don’t think you need to worry about that
How do you use it on the main pawn lmao. You left out the explanation for the gold beetle tip.
meat and plants do decay in the storage, you'll come back to a shitload of "dry flowers" and rotten meat
The perfect start is the one where you go in blind
It's always best to learn from others mistakes rather than your own.

A looong term tip. Buy every Allheal you see. Do not use them until Unmoored World.
Another tip. Buy as many apples in Melve as you can, let them ripen, store them in storage, sell them in Batahli when you get there 🤣
My biggest concern is: does Dragon's Dogma 2 still uses stat growth like in the first game? Because if you're into min-maxing, Dragon's Dogma 1 forced you take very specific levels with very specific vocations otherwise you'd end up with a shitty build.
No, your stats change with your vocation. So there's no min maxing or worrying about that. Play all the vocations without restrictions
Adding onto this is there's a post on the Dragon's dogma subreddit about how at higher levels the stats even out to the point that at level 200 the stats are the same regardless of what vocation you used previously. Dunno how accurate/ truthful it is since I have no idea how someone already got to level 200.

How do you get the wolf head?
Starting with fighter is potentially the worst decision I’ve ever made. If there was a dodge mechanic it wouldn’t be an issue but whenever you have multiple enemies even small ones coming to attack you there’s no blocking at all and you get completely fucked every time. Looking to be a mystic spear hand as soon as possible
Thief is one of the best classes by far with a dodge I highly recommend. It's the most fun I've played.

What about the eternal ferrystone? Like the first game?
Not me seeing that dragon again and thinking I can take it at level 15.
do i have to have companion? can i go solo? always been like that for every game lol
Companions are ai npcs and are very useful to have (they can collect, carry stuff for you, help in combat, deal damage etc) . I still recommend having them but you can just dismiss them or let them fall in combat and go solo. I've been doing that on a few occasions.
If you play solo, you get a 20% boost to xp. So you actually get rewarded for going it alone
You can toss all of your pawns off a cliff and then not recover any of them
Get ready to get fisted though. This game was balanced around a party
@@irecordwithaphone1856I tossed my first pawn off a cliff by accident.

Calling your pawn MainPawn is not a good idea as a lot of people will never hire a pawn called that. It's not very immersive, and when it is a hired pawn it's a confusing name since it's not YOUR main pawn.
Do they just see the moniker instead anyways for you and main pawn?
@@Ultriix I thought the moniker was only for people playing with age restriction on?
Yeah I lost about 4 hours from loading an inn save
"A couple of save files"? Far as I can tell, we only get the 1, and we can't even restart that like in the first game
Edit
I think I understand what he meant now - manual save vs inn save
Biggest tip: Avoid the Dragons Plague at ALL COSTS!
Signs of plague on your pawns:
1. Red eyes
2. Pawns start ignoring your commands or get fiesty with you
3. They frequently get headaches or hold their head in pain
Do NOT rest at an inn when one of your pawns has the plague...you need to dismiss that pawn or if it is your main pawn...you have to yeet them into some brine.
Cheers
(Consequences of not being observant on this is killing off an entire populace at a major city)
Thanks for the spoiler?
@@TheOrplaya86 Oh frack off. Its not part of the story, it can ruin someones playthrough.
