My 600-lb Life is an American reality television series that has aired on the TLC television network since 2012. Each episode follows a year in the life of morbidly obese individuals, who usually begin the episode weighing at least 600 pounds (270 kg), and documents their attempts to reduce their weight to a healthy level. Update episodes, called "Where Are They Now?", feature one or more previous patients, picking up a year or more after their original episodes aired.
Patients are placed under the care of Iranian-American Houston surgeon Younan Nowzaradan (often referred to as simply "Dr. Now"), who first has them attempt losing weight on their own by following a strict diet, and then depending on the patient's progress may offer gastric bypass surgery or sleeve gastrectomy to further assist in weight loss.

@@yakikadafi745 yikes. I am a caretaker. And my overweight clients has been the NICEST people. The best you can do is get them put on a diet ordered by their dr but even with that. If they’re buying their own food you can’t tell them no they can’t have it. My client struggled everyday but still lost 100+ pounds. Sometimes people have binge eating disorders, medications do that to them, or they was raised that way. From my experience no body just got fat bc they wanted to! An no body stays overweight bc they want to 🤦🏼‍♀️ it’s a physical and mental challenge. Maybe if you tried spending some time with someone with these struggles instead of being fatphobic you would see they’re a person just like you. They’re just fighting something they ain’t got a choice in. And being a caretaker telling her no she can’t have access to her food will get you fired and charged 😬

The only thing I will say about being a caretaker is if they work for a company similar to what I do for work, you are allowed to suggest that the person you're caring for should eat healthier and/or amallwr portions but you cannot tell them no. So if they insist on eating 3 pizzas, you let them eat the 3 pizzas, just document their behaviors, that you suggested not to but they did anyway.

When these people have young children you can't help but feel bad for the kids. Mom or dad can't work! Unless they have some online gig there is no fun and experience with their parent(s). So much of the money is going to food!

I think the time for self analysis and personal responsibility has come and gone when you no longer can get out of bed. I have no sympathy for anyone who cannot figure out that there is so much more to life than just eating. If that makes me insensitive, so be it!

I admit i'm a 38 year old screw up, but I refuse and take precautions not to have children. If i' can't take care of myself how the heck can I take care of them. I believe you should only have children if you're in a very stable relationship and have the finances to give them a proper child hood. Where they dream of Santa Clause and Disney land. This is not right in any way at all!
