My now wife stays up in the mountains of Doi Chang, and our house is about 1000m above sea level. I have rented many different vehicles when I visit, and basically any NA engine less than 1.5L displacement is going to struggle with going up steep mountain roads. Part of the problem is the power loss due to altitude (about 3% every 1000ft/300m). Turbocharged engines fare better with minimal or no power loss. Obviously electric vehicles will not have this problem at all, no power loss due to altitude.
The village you pass through is always fun to see, especially in the early hours you do this at as folks are setting up. But its your content and if you're tightening up the test content, that's fun. Maybe do these villages as part of the lazy Sunday drives instead.
I really like the mounting climb / descent videos. says something about the real capacity of a car. If the cooling system is ok. But this one is without OBD data and that is a pity. Now we don't know the battery temp etc. you said that fossil cars are struggling uphill. Most time caused by drivers not using the correct gear. advantage of the fossil cars is that they have an electric driven fan that can compensate the missing airflow.
Hey Björn! Any chance that you are driving by Cape Panwa under this week? 😄 I would love to buy you a beer/drink/soda! //Erik electric car fanatic from Sweden
Answer is yes we still do have 3G in Thailand BUT this is for far up-country areas. Because in more than 80% of cities big or small, we do have one of the greatest 5G coverage, super fast and stable.
Did you find the reason for half the consumption on deepal? because I remember most cars in that route you test consume about 600Wh/km 'ish Or Maybe you were driving slower 40'sh vs old videos you even went 70'ish km/hr?
Good morning Bjørn. I would ask you please if it is possible for you to do a 1000Km challenge with the model 3 LR RWD. I really appreciate your tests and they are undoubtedly the ones that resemble reality to find out charging times, curves and real autonomy. Thank you very much in advance and Merry Christmas.

Why is the loss due to, less air for combustion?

I liked the villages. So more hill climbs please.

Super dangerous roads, everyone drives on the wrong side of the road.
Demographic change will mean RHD cars will be the majority within 5-10 years.
What do you mean?@@paulc6766

The termites will destroy your banana boxes!
But we don't have termites. And other boxes here are fine.

Does the car remember custom driving mode and regen level after restarting, I hate that on my EV always setting in again on starting the car.
They still use 3G in Thailand? In the past, Thailand was one of the first Countries, introducing new Technologies, like DCS1800 ...
its in the middle of the mountain, most cities have 5g

you should measure the banana boxes just in case they get destroyed and you cant find any others so you can make them yourself
