The Forbidden Fruit: the One thing God told Adam and Eve not to eat (Yet they ate it anyway)

Genesis chapter 3 tells the story of humanity's fall from grace. In the Garden of Eden, the serpent tempts Eve to eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, which God had forbidden. She shares the fruit with Adam, leading to their realization of their nakedness and shame. When God confronts them, they blame each other and the serpent. As a consequence, God curses the serpent to crawl on its belly, increases Eve's childbirth pain, and makes Adam toil for food. They are banished from Eden to prevent them from eating from the Tree of Life, marking the beginning of human suffering and mortality.
