One of the main themes in the bible is a tree and its fruit.... The main principle being that you will know a tree by its fruit. Good trees with lots of nourishment produce nourishing fruit, Likewise bad trees with poor nourishment provide no nourishment..... What if this isn't actually food. The Bible mentions 2 trees the Tree of Knowledge and the Tree of Life and later we learn the Tree of Life was Jesus so I don't think it was a literal tree with literal fruit.

I don't think anyone who has read Genesis ever wondered about the serpent being upright first. If it were already crawling on the ground, God would've had to be of low intelligence to *curse* it with its natural gait. The serpent for certain had at least legs, and for speculation had at most, wings.
When snakes were first on earth they had four legs. They still have the joints and the python and boa have small bony spikes off them. Google it or ask a vet.

Many overlook a couple verses in the third chapter regarding the fruit, and what Adam and Eve gained from it.

Both Adam and Eve gained the knowledge of good and evil, but they lacked the wisdom and maturity in making choices regarding what was good or evil. Maturity comes from experience, and anybody who raised children know how difficult that can be.
What was a good knowledge to Adam and what was a evil knowledge to Adam...what was the purpose of it to him...he only gave the serpent access to their heart and mind...Adam did not make planet earth...evil would mean they will kill each other..death enters...when God built the earth he said it was good...see we as man keeps building things daily ..that is the only good i see..creating things in God creation..which is destroying planet earth more and more..tower of Babel.

Maybe not a fruit in real because Bible rarely directly , when Jesus came to preach he didn't directly point out the mistakes of people while preaching but he teach them with story .
The forbidden fruit was probably figs. The fig tree (leaves to cover themselves!) is the only tree mentioned in the narrative. To day, the Garden of Eden with these two special trees are probably at the bottom of Karakul Lake, on the southeastern edge of Eden, the Pamir River. This is not the only time a place is hidden at the bottom of a body of water. Sodom + are cities now at the bottom of the Dead (Salt) Sea.
There is actually very good evidence that Sodom has been discovered. There are balls of sulphur there that burn fiercely when lit.
Mayne the fruit was not a fruit as we know it,but the fruit that comes from maiting with one another. That is why God is against maiting with angels. And as for the fig leaves it was big enough to cover the nakedness, plants grew big in that environment during that time.

What I find interesting is Eve knew the fruit was good for gaining wisdom just looking at it. Adam and Even had a much greater spiritual awareness than today, and could understand the spiritual power of things just by seeing them. This is also how Eve "heard" the devil in the serpent. Adam and Even had dominion over every created spirit as well as the the natural world. This is why Jesus even had dominion over demons. The fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil was a spiritual weapon that could be used against good or against evil; the power to fight against even the power of God and the divine. If God was sinful, it would have been right to take the fruit against His will, but this was not true, so the penalty fell upon Adam and Eve. However, Jesus showed the penalty could be overcome through righteousness and obedience to God's will. In fact, the penalty could be thrown upon the devil who tempted them, for we know the devil is the one who hell was designed for. As to why the devil was allowed in Eden, one could argue he sincerely believed his words, and was just as innocently corrupted by the knowledge of good and evil when Adam and Eve sinned. Spirits are essentially mental constructs that allow a being with authority to achieve a certain result; when Adam and Eve ate the fruit, the knowledge of evil corrupted the devil. Ezekiel 28 says that Lucifer was innocent until the day iniquity was found in him, meaning it was that very day that the devil sinned; he was not evil when he was created. Therefore, like Jesus is a stumbling block, so too is the knowledge of good and evil like a deep, dark pit one falls into. It was created so that the true light of men would be made manifest, so each human would gain the knowledge of God and become like him, having both authority and wisdom; no longer remaining ignorant of right and wrong, and able to create like God did in the beginning; this is why we were made in the image of God, and why Adam was the first son of God, yet Jesus was the 77th: the word "seven" is similar to the word for "pure" in Hebrew. This means Jesus is the "purest of the pure", which made him worthy to have both the knowledge of good and evil and eternal life from the tree of life.

@@nic1891 Lol... Are you sure repentance is not necessary for salvation? Jesus could do no miracles for the unrepentant. I'm not saying you have to repent of every sin because no one knows all their sins. However, you have to have a "spirit of repentance" in which you recognize you have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Jesus is the exception because he never sinned, yet even Jesus was humble before God, as we should be. Even the demons believed in Jesus (AND TREMBLED!!!), yet they were not saved. You must repent of your sin and recognize your rebellion against God is the source of sin. Then, you begin the process of sanctification; sadly, many Christians never complete this process unlike Jesus, Enoch, and Elijah did and must wait for the resurrection at the second coming. Think about what it really means to "believe in Jesus".

I specifically said I do not believe you have to repent of every sin, but have a "spirit of repentance"; that is the Holy Spirit, for the Holy Spirit leads us to salvation before we even consciously realize it. The fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, spoken of in Genesis, had the ability to cause a person to develop an ego: a delusional estate - because the mixture of truth (knowledge of good) and lies (knowledge of evil) is the fruit (theories / doctrines etc) that will make a person believe a lie is a truth.
The delusional estate is sin made manifest within the person - and it does lead to spiritual death.
To acknowledge a sin - and confess it to the Father in prayer - is to diminish the ego.
The act of accepting the blood sacrifice of Jesus (Yâhusha) is to embrace the grace (cleansing) which allows us to learn how to walk upright before the Father in Heaven.

It wasn't just the plant in and of itself, it was about being shown and directed toward it. The actual fruit doesn't matter because we will really never know. The fruit was not mentioned for a reason; so that we wouldn't worship it as an idol. It had to happen sooner or later.It so happened to occur sooner than later lol. Everything unfolds in time, every flower opens when it is ready; when the time is ripe.The fruit, along with being actual is a metaphor for leaving the past behind and embracing a new future along with all the pitfalls, troubles and hardships. After Adam and Eve sinned, God closed the gates to Eden. An angel guards those gates. So IMO, that fruit is no longer with us, neither of those trees are here in our lifespans either. It would make absolute sense, since humanity was given free will and has disobeyed God’s one true test of our existence, and love for Him, we can NO longer be innocent from any evil we want to believe in. It changes everything. God is our Father, and like any unreasonable, disobedient child, we are punished for our own actions, behaviors and mistakes. Adam and Eve both chose not to own up to what they were doing, and especially lied to God. Instead of owning up to what they did wrong, they blamed someone else for what happened to them, instead of being totally responsible, truthful and trusting God’s decision and plans. They wanted it for themselves…..This is the wrong doing and the lie they told God, by NOT telling the truth to God and in trusting and believing in Him. This is the big sin and why they were cast out of Eden. They lied to God and blamed someone else, instead of being truly honest with God for wanting it for themselves, both of them. Eve listened to a snake’s lies instead of telling God what happened. The Tree of Knowledge of good and evil could've been *any* tree. The problem lies with the command not to eat of it. If you don't eat (obey) you know good (connection to God). If you eat (disobey) you know evil (separation from God). It's really elementary, and really literal.

It's really a catch 22. What is it when you don't have the knowledge of good and evil? Some people say had they never ate it they would have still reproduced children.. But how if they didn't know? A transgression isn't like it's really bad. Honestly, I believe it was a selfless act. It was part of reason we learn we progress in wisdom. To me it's the same as leaving candy in the room of a hungry child and telling the child not to eat it.. Is it that bad?

I’ve heard a theory that “the fruit” was an allegory for some type of sexual sin. But I lean towards the assumption It was an actual fruit that was consumed.

Where there is no law there is no transgression. So even if they did have sex with the “fruit” (WHICH THEY DIDNT!!!! ) there was no law against it. Ask yourself this, why didn’t the snake temp Eve to kill Adam? Because there was no law against it at that time. Also it was Adam’s fault and not Eves that we fell. This can also be an example for men (I’m talking to myself too) to take care of our families. He was standing right there with her when she ate and he didn’t stop her.

I tend to lean toward the fruit making Adam and Eve fertile/sexually attacted to eachother (hence why they started to cover themselves and hid from God in shame, i think they were purely innocent and didnt need to consummate marriage as Eve was from Adam for Adam)...
procreation, blessing and a curse, a child(or 2) and pain for eve, children for Adam but being powerless to watch Eve in pain (something they would have never felt before) starting the cycle of life and death, knowledge of good and evil ...they had to leave the garden of Eden because they chose (free will) not to live the life that God wanted for them as carers of eden.

I believe after a time God would have given them a choice between the tree of life (live forever together in the garden) and the tree of good and evil (to go into the world beyond with knowledge that they could procreate but would eventually die) amd thats why the trees were there, they were told not to eat them coz it wasnt time but the snake pushed them to choose with a lil trickery (not telling them everything, just enough to get them to eat) and so God couldn't allow them to procreate and also live forever hence banishment away from the tree of life.

Maybe he wanted it to happen so he could learn about His creation? Its a tough question that has always bothered me, but my thoughts are he was like testing the free will of His creation to see who would listen and who wouldn't...who would follow, who would walk away etc...but I see there is a problem with that too, if he knows all, he would know how his creation would react, so no need for a 'test'? Right? I trust Him but ya the question sends me in circles.

God knew it _could_ happen, but that's not the same thing as Him making it happen. Ppl operate with the idea that God predetermines everything that happens, and that is simply not true. Adam and Eve could've(and very would should've) used the tools they were given to reject Satan's advances like Christ did in Matt. 4, but they failed to use those tools. And to make matters worse, Adam and Eve blamed somebody else for their own failure.
Hold on you are comparing Adam and Eve who had no knowledge of evil to Jesus who is God in the flesh? How could they fight off Satan when Jesus is God and struggled with it. Adam and Eve had no tools they had no understanding of deception yet God knew the master of deception would decide them.

I’m just checking a few videos about it because I’m concerned I may have baked a forbidden fruit cake and I don’t want to make things worse than they already are for humanity. Most people are saying it’s a fig or a pear but the fuzzy kind.
In pseudo Apocrypha in the story of Adam and Eve it clearly states that the fruit is fig, but the fig is so big that is almost a size if a man. But in Apocrypha i forgot which book exactly, because i have read it about a year ago it doesn't say what type of fruit, but rather it was described as being in clusters. So thinking that i only know figd to the normal figs i know are not clustered and i never heard of a clustered figs, but just ro make sure i googled clustered figs and indeed there are clustered figs in modern times. The reasoning that the figs are very big probably because of the perfect environment of the garden east of Eden

The forbidden fruit was a cherry. Why else would you think that being naked was something to be embarrassed about? Are young children embarrassed by being naked? Not until they realize the differences between men and women and are becoming men and women. Makes as much sense as anything else.

The only thing that's known is if you read the original text is that it was around fruit, apple's technically or not round therefore that would exclude them yesterday around and appearance but the technically they're not round so that would exclude them, we know that it's around fruit because if you read the original translation it's a round fruit and that's all we know that it's some sort of round fruit technically I would say it's some sort of berry because that's the only thing that would have a roundness to it this technically around when it forms into a fruit so it would have to be some sort of burial of some sort. Technically there's two trees that were there the other tree is the tree of eternal life and that's what most people forget about it was also in that garden but you would never told about that until after they were kicked out of the garden was the last thing they were told about as they were kicked out.

Also, Jesus wilting the fig tree and cursing it in front of His disciples for having no edible fruit is a big hint. The fruit would no longer be forbidden after since we had already gained the knowledge therein. The only fruit forbidden after that was the fruit of life from the tree of life that would have granted us eternal life.
