I have that exact same gpu and I must say it looks so damn good in person and it runs crazy cool. I had a 7900xt that I switched out for this 4080 and I must say I couldn't be happier at all. Also GREAT looking build Kyle hope the kids love it

taking physics into consideration i think you should spread the thermal paste to near the edges like 1/16 to 1/8th perhaps.... you'll always install cooler at an angle to some degree.. so that could push the paste to one side leaving little for the other side once it levels outs.. of course it won't make much difference in most cases i'd guess.. maybe 1% less contact area and the least effective contact area ... but why not get all the contact area you can i think

Love that sag bracket
if you need a GPU bracket that is somewhat invissible, all you need is one of the metal plates covering the spaces of PCIexpress slots, and then drill a small hole in it and a small hole in the case at the same level as the botom of your gpu, put in a screw, and you have a free nonvissible GPU anti-sag bracket totaly free.. (well could coast a screw if you dont have one lying around) :P
