Questions relating to future family planning are not allowed in Germany and can be challenged under labour law.
Every job offered for Germany is subject to German labor law and the competent place of jurisdiction is accordingly in Germany. If, for example, an American company is looking for a project manager for Germany, US labor law is not valid in any way.

Moin!
Moin! As someone from Hamburg, I recommend that you always ask for a qualified employment reference. This type of reference includes a detailed description of your tasks and an evaluation of your performance and skills. It's much more comprehensive and valuable than a standard employment reference, especially when it comes to improving future job opportunities.

Some questions, like about the family planning are not allowed and the applicant therefore is allowed to lie on that question.
Other way round, many companies like to have parents in their company, as with kids you are not likely to switch the job soon, as you have to care about a family.
And if you are asked that question in an interview, it is not the best company, if they don't know the labor law in Germany. You may choose another one.
But even when you found a job, just English speaking, you should learn German soon, as otherwise you have only the option to those few English-speaking jobs, and you will get more and more competition through other women in the BBA network, just arrived in Germany and everything around keeps beeing strange for you, as the day to day language in Germany is German.
Yes, talking about money ... we don't do that.
I made a video on "why we don't talk about it".
