I've commented on this video too many times buy I recently fell in love with the last part. "All because of you, I believe in angels. Not the kind with wings, No, not the kind with halos, The kind that bring you home, When home becomes a strange place. I'll follow your voice, All you have to do is shout it out."
Hmm I really hate that part myself. I think Rise against have a nasty habit of making a really catchy chorus only to change it up at the end which ruins it for me. I often find myself listening to the beginning of the song a few times but never the end.

More than 14 years later these guys are still changing my life. When they came to Bakersfield in 2010 was th best concert of my life. Always going to be a fan of the angels who guide you home when home becomes a strange place.
Hardly "the rest of their work" ! Try going back the early days, when they were pure raw unrefined punk talent. With a sound that they have honed and polished, and an Ideology unfettered by corporate despotism, they have stayed true to their roots, they have carved a path through punk rock with a passion befitting their Iconic Band Name. They have set themselves among the greats of punk rock and rock alike.
Youareall Sheep When I said "the rest of their work", I meant it. I already know about all of their past work from The Unraveling all the way to Endgame, and I'm still supporting them.

So I tell myself, I tell myself it's wrong. There's a point we pass from which we can't return. I felt the cold rain of the coming storm. All because of you, I haven't slept in so long. When I do I dream of drowning in the ocean, Longing for the shore where I can lay my head down, I'll follow your voice, All you have to do is shout it out. Inside my hands these petals browned, Dried up, fallen to the ground But it was already too late now. I pushed my fingers through the earth, Returned this flower to the dirt, So it could live. I walked away now. But I know... Not a day goes by that I don't feel this burn. There's a point we pass from which we can't return. I felt the cold rain of the coming storm. I'm surprised Tim Mcilrath isn't ranked up with some of the best songwriters. The lyrics in this song are so emotionally gripping that I feel tears every single time I hear the ending lines.

One of the best lyrical masterpieces. Ever. That is all. I’m 35 years old and have been through all the music through the late 80s, 90s and 2000+. This is it, right here....
5 years. I don't think about that flower everyday, but i still do, even 5 years later. I'm glad i left her in the field though... I look at her from time to time and the field in which she grows is plentiful of lively vegetation that surround her as she blooms. Thaat is what she deserves too; the prettiest of flowers devoid of thorns. It hurt me when i left her there, and I wish i never did, but a part of me knows that was the good thing to do. I'll keep on checking on, every now and then, when solitude burdens me or my heart aches. I wish you the best. May you keep on growing, little flower.
All because of you I believe in angels. Not the kind with wings, no, not the kind with halos; the kind that bring you home when home becomes a strange place Genius

We must be hopeful, we must try to be optimistic, no matter how dark the world seems. Take care everyone and take care of those you love!)
It’s extremely saddening that this doesn’t turn out to be the story of most orphans and kids in the foster home system. However, with that being said, I can’t help but smile and be filled with joy when I hear of some one having anything relatively similar to your story happen to them and potentially preventing them from having a pessimistic outlook on families and life. Stay up dude.

This is my favorite song of all time, from my favorite band. Lyrics are absolutely poetic, with multiple interpretations. One that I find satisfying is that the "you" he is referring to isn't a girl: it's the earth. This planet that we take so much from, without giving anything back in return... He does what he can to make it a better place, through being a vegetarian, PETA, recycling, conserving resources, and advocating his stands on environmental and political issues through his band, but it isn't enough. WE need to be the ones to change it. To make it a better place. He sees a light at the end of this video, and in this light he believes will perhaps come a brighter future for the planet, caused by the good actions of people. So, people. Be a little more environmentally aware and concerned. Leave this earth a better place than when you came. No matter how little you do, it's the mindset that counts.
AT 35 THE REVOLUTION SQUAD CAN SAY THAT AYO HOMIE GETTIN OLD! FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS WORLD I DID!!! I BELIEVE IN YOU AND THAT'S ALL YOU NEED! REVOLUTION SQUAD STAY UP...STAY BLESSED...OUT
_I believe in angels, not the kind with wings. Not the kind with halos, the kind that bring you home. When home becomes a strange place, I'll follow your voice. All you have to do is shout it out..._ Reminds me of my ex-girlfriend. She saved my life... our relationship was rocky at best but we were going to kick the world's ass. Beautiful song. Absolutely beautiful.
"All because of you, I believe in angels. Not the kind with wings, No, not the kind with halos, The kind that bring you home, When home becomes a strange place. I'll follow your voice, All you have to do is shout it out." So damn strong.
All because of you, I haven't slept in so long. When I do I dream, of drowning in the ocean, longing for a shore, where I can lay my head down, I'll follow your voice, all you have to do is shout it out. This has to be my favorite part.
This is the best band and they have not once sold out in any way. Hopefully they continue making their amazing music, as I impatiently wait...this music video was also very inventive.
"All because of you, I haven't slept in so long. When I do I dream of drowning in the ocean, Longing for the shore where I can lay my head down" I love these lines so much
Rise against will always have a special place in my top ten bands. The nostalgia is real. I moved on to Metallica and others but, I always love this feeling of coming back to what started it all for me.
+TVNando Same bro the nostalgia is real with this band. And i started out with rise against too cuz my cousin introduced me to them and i fell in love. But yea rise against will always have its special spot in my list smh....
+asdfghjkl zxcvbnm Yeah its funny cause I heard this song 2 years ago once and I was humming a beat to him tell one.of us remembered a lyric to Google and bamboo we are here today (:
Sometimes you don't realize how much you love a song until you put it on and realize you're singing every word from memory. That just happened to me with this song.
Yeah, it happened to me too. Recently, I stumbled across a song I was obsessed with when I was 14 (like 2 years ago) and I was surprised. I could sing the song word to word!! (If you're wondering, the song is "King for a day" by pierce the veil)
Totally. This song has been in my iPod, phone, youtube albums for over 10 years with other Rise Against songs. Today it just hit different, complete chills.
The song is an allegory for our relationship with the planet. The fact that you can interpret this song to fit many situations is why i love it so much, however.
My story isn't as tragic as other's but I got dumped by someone I terribly loved and it really destroyed me for a while. It wasn't even too long ago. I remember playing this song over and over at night crying in the darkness.... This song describes LITERALLY how I felt. I still feel like this every once in a while, because if you don't understand what that feels like I will explain: it's like getting stabbed in the lung. You try to breath but its very difficult. You never die from it but the hole is still there, taunting your every breath. Thats why my favorite line in this song is,"All beacuse of you, i havent slept in so long. when i do i dream of drowning in the ocean..." Like I said I know my story isn't as tragic but it hurt me a whole helluva lot and made me stronger. Thank you for reading.
I know how you feel, man, the same happened to me, when I lidten to this song I think of that girls who left me. I still feel bad when I think about her.
I dated the prettiest/most popular girl in my grade all 4 years of high school I knew her since 6th grade she now dates a kid who was the most popular in his grade 2 grades ahead of our grade .. Bro I am fucking dead inside my soul is fucking black I don't know how I'm even breathing at this point she's all I think about 24/7 I'm even getting drunk rightnow because I thought of her to much today but I'm also drinking because I ran out of weed earlier .... Fuck man
Blankphotograph5799 I'm pretty sure this song is about the people destroying the earth. I guess that with the part about the flower and I have the feeling that the "you" is the earth and more precisely the flower which is dying.
loss of love is a tragedy and don't have to down play it for you it felt tragic try to find new love and remember how you felt learn compassion and never make anyone else in your future feel like this if you fall out of love why you feel bad is because you have a good heart the person. that broke up should be the one that feels bad and guilt love loss doesn't have to be total loss there should be friendship still
First Rise Against song I've heard, about 9 years ago. And I'd never become the person I am today if it wasn't for this band. These guys had such a big influence on me and I'm sure I'm not the only one. God knows what path I'd chosen if this Band wouldn't open my eyes, when I was a lousy teenager not caring about anything in the world. Keep on rocking, can't wait to see you live for the fourth time in summer. Your music still gives me hope, even in the darkest times.
This has been my favorite Rise Against song for quite some time, but it just means so much more to me now that I relate to it. I don’t know how to describe it except that it soothes a pain deep in my soul and makes me want to cry at the same time. I love this band so much.
Man. I remember bringing this CD home when I was 16, turning on the win95 that I still used, sitting down, and typing all the lyrics out. I did that with every CD I bought in the mid 00s. And that is why I can still sing songs on command. What an incredible album
Man.... I haven't heard this song in years, it used to be my favorite until I fell into depression and started slipping into addiction, I couldn't even listen to music like this anymore (I think I was afraid of emotions) but man....... This song just makes me miss my old life, I miss not being high all the time, I miss bright colors, I miss thinking clearly, I miss feeling healthy. Gahhh I miss feeling these emotions. I need to change. I'm glad I stopped here today...
Don't listen to these idiots. Every song has it's own meaning for an individual, most strike a memory of their past that relates to the theme and the lyrics. It's what you take from it that matters. Push it into a positive direction. For me, this song reminds me of a girl who I thought was the love of my life but eventually had an incredibly negative impact on my life.
I got to see them with Taking Back Sunday, and Awolnation, at How the Edge Stole Christmas one year and I was literally moved to tears. Not crazy, sad ugly crying but definitely nothing I have ever experienced before. What happened to music that had meaning? I have never loved a band more than Rise Against, and I don't believe it's possible that I ever will.
All because of you I believe in angels. Not the kind with wings no, not the kind with halos. The kind that brings you home, when home becomes a strange place, I'll follow your voice, all you have to do is shout it ooooooout.
All because of you, I haven't slept in so long. When I do I dream of drowning in the ocean, Longing for the shore where I can lay my head down, I'll follow your voice, All you have to do is shout it out.
The 1st "but I know..." And the 2nd "but I know..." Directly conflict each other so perfectly. Knowing that beauty turns to dust, then walking away from that dust after so many emotions have already developed. That turmoil. Pure art. Truly.
I used to listen to rap music, you know, the stuff by Post Malone, Future, Lil Uzi Vert, Young Thug, etc. Now that I come back to my old favorite band, I don't want to leave. Fuck this rap, I enjoy this much more. Rise Against never gets old. Loved and, and still loving it today.
Whenever I hear "all because of you" I can't help to blame myself and when Tim M says "I'll follow your voice, all you have to do is shout it out" I think of something like God
Yea cause the popular kids listen to that shitty rap music with horrible lyrics that is usually sung by white guys that tryna act black lol (example lil peep)
That moment when you put on a rise against song and you see in the bar right so much other songs from them that you're like: "Oh damm, I don't have the time to listen to all this epic music right now, I need to sleep. But well this song is is just to good to not listen to, this song will be the last one before I will go to sleep." And then after some time, it's 3:00 am.
All because of you I believe in angels Not the kind with wings No, not the kind with halos The kind that bring you home When home becomes a strange place I'll follow your voice All you have to do is shout it out
the last verse gives me the chills every time ! i love it.

12 years and still a banger
The final verse is so fuckin good
Actually 16 years, this is from 06
vidoe is 14 years old they still havent fixed it
Songs don't have age, IMO. This one is and will remain banger forever
Indeed
"I follow your voice all you have to do is shout it out" that part makes me tear up
because nobody ever shouted out...
AT 35 THE REVOLUTION SQUAD CAN SAY THAT AYO HOMIE GETTIN OLD! FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS WORLD I DID!!! I BELIEVE IN YOU AND THAT'S ALL YOU NEED! REVOLUTION SQUAD STAY UP...STAY BLESSED...OUT
😂
_I believe in angels, not the kind with wings. Not the kind with halos, the kind that bring you home. When home becomes a strange place, I'll follow your voice. All you have to do is shout it out..._
Reminds me of my ex-girlfriend. She saved my life... our relationship was rocky at best but we were going to kick the world's ass. Beautiful song. Absolutely beautiful.
"All because of you,
I believe in angels.
Not the kind with wings,
No, not the kind with halos,
The kind that bring you home,
When home becomes a strange place.
I'll follow your voice,
All you have to do is shout it out."
So damn strong.
This is my absolute favourite song. It just dwarves everything in every regard in my mind.
Seen them 12 times! Obsessed you might say! Tim! One of the best vocalists today!
Rise against for some reason always makes me feel better after going through something terrible.
My favorite song by the group! I’m a drummer and I dig it! Love the time signature switches!
Rise Against it's a perfect band !!!! LOve it
You're not wrong.
All because of you, I haven't slept in so long. When I do I dream, of drowning in the ocean, longing for a shore, where I can lay my head down, I'll follow your voice, all you have to do is shout it out.
This has to be my favorite part.
This is the best band and they have not once sold out in any way. Hopefully they continue making their amazing music, as I impatiently wait...this music video was also very inventive.
there still doing really well now. Wolves was very good
"All because of you,
I haven't slept in so long.
When I do I dream of drowning in the ocean,
Longing for the shore where I can lay my head down"
I love these lines so much
I... Just... Ugh
Yeah, me too
Rise against will always have a special place in my top ten bands.
+Alan Molina I remember this song from my myspace days. I love this nostalgia but I miss the good ol days ):
+TVNando Ohh forreal?! you know a band is old if you found them on MySpace lol and yea I guess the good ol days are long behind us now.....
The part where Tim sings “I believe in angels” makes me smile everytime I hear it
spent 2h trying to find the name of this song , happy asf
+Angel Gonzalez i know that feeling, congrats :)
+Gucci Blunts just put some line of lyrics you can remember on google, that way faster bro :D
+asdfghjkl zxcvbnm Yeah its funny cause I heard this song 2 years ago once and I was humming a beat to him tell one.of us remembered a lyric to Google and bamboo we are here today (:
+Gucci Blunts To him I mean my buddy Alex
Thats funny, because this song makes me sad asf.
@Matthias Frank haha that's dumb tho (:
@Matthias Frank No Gods. No Masters.
@Matthias Frank Yeah and I dreamt about fucking Emma Watson when I was on shrooms - doesn't mean any of the shit our brains come up with is real.
I have been in love twice in my life. Once was a nightmare and another heaven. This song somehow describes both. Absolute lyrical gold!
The song is an allegory for our relationship with the planet. The fact that you can interpret this song to fit many situations is why i love it so much, however.
so extremely good, THIS people is music!
This song is so underrated. It's actually a beautiful song with a lot of meaning. I can't stop listening to it now!
The ultimate throwback. I'm evoking memories of 8th grade, the nostalgia is immeasurable.
This song brings so many emotions back to me and somehow this band still gives me goosebumps after all these years. Very rare.
I'm really sorry for you, I never felt the same, but I understand you got hurt. Stay strong
Fuck man
Blankphotograph5799
I'm pretty sure this song is about the people destroying the earth.
ヤベェかっこよ過ぎる…
This has been my favorite Rise Against song for quite some time, but it just means so much more to me now that I relate to it. I don’t know how to describe it except that it soothes a pain deep in my soul and makes me want to cry at the same time. I love this band so much.
13 years later and this still my favorite vidoe by them 🎉❤
Best vidoe of all time
truly a great vidoe
Rise against's lyrics are so strong...
I like when Tim says “All you have to do is shout it out” is my fucking line and That is my jam? 🔥🤘🏾😝🤘🏾🔥
LOVE the tempo change! Lifts the energy a bit higher each time, bet this would be a wicked band to see live
Yeah absolutely
The chorus is so well thought through! Their lyrics are always so good!
This song is so hauntingly beautiful
Man. I remember bringing this CD home when I was 16, turning on the win95 that I still used, sitting down, and typing all the lyrics out. I did that with every CD I bought in the mid 00s. And that is why I can still sing songs on command. What an incredible album
I love the final lyric about angels, it's just so beautiful.
I am playing chess puzzles on my phone I can go back one week and do the daily puzzles again. I have solved the daily puzzle 388 days in a row!
I'm glad I stopped here today...
hey don't worry, you will be fine, I was there too... it affected my life, but I do not regret it.
kentbob
Debating on my response. Thinking either "Dick of the year award" or
"Achievement Unlocked: One-Incher"
***** who isn't?
Don't listen to these idiots. Every song has it's own meaning for an individual, most strike a memory of their past that relates to the theme and the lyrics. It's what you take from it that matters. Push it into a positive direction. For me, this song reminds me of a girl who I thought was the love of my life but eventually had an incredibly negative impact on my life.
Drama queen
because the messed up society we live in doesn't deserve to listen to such great music...
The lyrics are beautiful!! Rise against never disappoints even after listening to them over and over again!!
One of the greatest songs of all time
I got to see them with Taking Back Sunday, and Awolnation, at How the Edge Stole Christmas one year and I was literally moved to tears.
I spent so fucking long looking for this song. Holy fuck yes.
they had it on my work play list i got every physical album looking for it and 4 others obviously i love everything rise puts out tho
Official Music Vidoe
It’s officially November 2022. This youtube “vidoe” is now officially a teenager!
All because of you,
I haven't slept in so long.
When I do I dream of drowning in the ocean,
Longing for the shore where I can lay my head down,
I'll follow your voice,
All you have to do is shout it out.
When he sang “I push my fingers...” then I immediately started to think “...Into my eyes”
Good to know that... I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE!!!
:D SlipKnoT
TheIrek666, Bro, I think about it often too
@Lufrager I see you’re a man of culture
It's the only thing, that slowly stops the achheee.
Love how they change their tempo in blend it so well that it still gets u up... love it
Imagine just chilling in a meadow, picking some flowers, and accidentally unleashing a punk rock band upon the world.
That would be the best origin story for a punk band.
The 1st "but I know..." And the 2nd "but I know..." Directly conflict each other so perfectly. Knowing that beauty turns to dust, then walking away from that dust after so many emotions have already developed. That turmoil. Pure art. Truly.
I’am new to this genre of music but I absolutely love this song!
better later than never!
Check out, "LandMvrks" a French metal core band. You might really like them. Also "Polaris - Masochist" might be up your alley.
That chorus is really one of their best
I used to listen to rap music, you know, the stuff by Post Malone, Future, Lil Uzi Vert, Young Thug, etc. Now that I come back to my old favorite band, I don't want to leave. Fuck this rap, I enjoy this much more. Rise Against never gets old. Loved and, and still loving it today.
Whenever I hear "all because of you" I can't help to blame myself
and when Tim M says "I'll follow your voice, all you have to do is shout it out" I think of something like God
man, I love the chorus of this song
I sang this in choir in highschool and all the popular kids were like "wut..." But my emo and goth girlies got it 😉🖤
Our Anthem 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Yea cause the popular kids listen to that shitty rap music with horrible lyrics that is usually sung by white guys that tryna act black lol (example lil peep)
Heard this one on twitch in some guy's live stream. Came and played the full song here, became an instant fan.
DatModz, playing diablo 3.
I liked because your name and picture made me laugh:P
Zachary Farkas Thanks, I love making people laugh :]
Amazing song, overall amazing band. I love all they're work, whether it's the Unraveling or Endgame.
*their
This will always be my favorite rise against song
It's 2017 and I still get tears in my eyes like I was listening to this for the first time.
Where the fuck have I been for 12yrs ......this fucking rocks🤘🏻🤘🏻thank you Rise Against......please don't stop....hoping to see you in London 🤘🏻🤘🏻
That moment when you put on a rise against song and you see in the bar right so much other songs from them that you're like: "Oh damm, I don't have the time to listen to all this epic music right now, I need to sleep. But well this song is is just to good to not listen to, this song will be the last one before I will go to sleep."
And then after some time, it's 3:00 am.
Thijmen Schaap yea.. it's 5 AM and I still want to keep listening
Does anybody thinks those verses about angels are not probably most beautiful words in this song?
agreed
same
P. Poppy probably the album
Probably in all of music
Love the chorus so much, just how the song flows and the message it shows.
All because of you
I believe in angels
Not the kind with wings
No, not the kind with halos
The kind that bring you home
When home becomes a strange place
I'll follow your voice
All you have to do is shout it out
I’ll always believe in you. I’ll follow your voice all you have to do is shout it out! 💙
"There's a point we pass from which we can't return."
this song is so great...quite upset how such awesome songs like these dont receive the publicity they deserve :(
This song breaks my heart anew every time I listen to it.
