Lyrics
I was blown away.
What could I say?
It all seemed to make sense.
You've taken away everything,
And I can't deal with that.
I try to see the good in life,
But good things in life are hard to find.
We'll blow it away, blow it away.
Can we make this something good?
Well, I'll try to do it right this time around.
Let's start over.
I'll try to do it right this time around.
It's not over.
'Cause a part of me is dead and in the ground.
This love is killing me,
But you're the only one.
It's not over.

Yeah it does! 🖤
Hi Chicken!
I aint subscribing 😭😭🙏🙏💀💀💀💀
Daughtry, when this came out I was homeless, in and out of jail, and unhealthy. Now I have a house, a good job, and a husband. This song and “Clover Cage - The Lone Dancer” are the two songs that helped with my depression. I just want everyone to know things will get better. We are in this together. I love you ❤😊
I remember when this guy was on American Idol. He has unbridled raw talent. Powerful song that still hits hard in 2023 and beyond.
He is one of my TOP 5 singers! AND HIS LYRICS (MOST) TEAR AT YOUR HEART STRINGS! I LOVE AND WANT TO MEET HIM! ONE OF HIS SONG IS TO BE MY WEDDING SONG, ALTHOUGH NOT NORMAL! IT WILL BE PERFECT!
Daughtry was easily the best singer from that season. The winner (Taylor Hicks) from that season was so bad, he was dropped from his record label in only two years. Simon Cowell knew that Hicks was going to fail, and his reaction in the finale was a sarcastic, "Yippee."
@@astrnomr yes that was the biggest let down but Chris was way too good for them anyway

As a black man who don’t even listen to this genre I was surprised how many of his songs I actually knew lol great artist
...most respect, but what does your skin colour have to do with it bruv? You got an ear for music, good music at that. You're a human being with a love for some good tunes, and that makes you awesome, no descriptors needed
It's a compliment. Nothing wrong with what he said. It's a demographic. Labels, business, marketing, zoning, media, society, colonists all use demographics. It is what it is. So yes, it's a compliment that he likes this song. A soulful, meaningful song coming from a different culture.
A true lover of music is not going to have barriers. That's a beautiful thing.

"It's Not Over" was the best greatest song from a lead singer of all time.

This song hits me so hard. A few years ago my dog got out and was lost for 5 days. Each day after work I would go searching for him until the sun went down. One of those days as I was driving down a random street when this song came on the radio and once the chorus hit I had to pull over, I don’t cry often but damn the tears just started flowing. This song sparked something in me and I just went out day and night until I found him on day 5. Still have him to this day and this song will always remind me of him ❤️
Fucken eh dude. I'm happy you found your goodest of boys. Not even that... Your son, I adopted a 7 year old orange stray before I had to move out of a apartment in miller. I had that kitty for three more years and during those years I called him my son and got the best memories ever. Cherish him always.
😥💦💔💦💪🏾😎💯
So happy your best friend back ❤
My cat ran off for 3 months and we found him in one of my neighbors garages clinging to life. He was skin and bones but now hes 24 pounds I'm glad he survived
I'm crying my eyes out for you. My dog means everything to me.
Chris should've won American Idol that year.
agreed. he was robbed
He did win! A recording contract! Jus sayin 😁
He got more bruh
And he should have won Masked Singer 😂
Think of all the winners. How many have done anything memorable in music? Very few.
These guys are such an underrated music group

+Sebastian Tannæs
When people ask me what band I like and I say Daughtry, almost all of them are like «Who's that?»
Sara Ghabeli exactly
They were very VERY popular in the early 2000s after his American Idol appearance. They took a break though so tht is why so many people don't know about them
Its March 2024, let's see how many legends are listening to this incredible song💙
March 2024 I remember thinking that he should have won American Idol in 2006 but it ended up being the best thing that could have happened as he didn't have any Idol obligations. Not only was he successful but he has remained relevant.

As a genuine fan of rock music, It’s Not Over is hands down one of my favourite songs of all time. Daughtry is a force of nature with that unrestrained passion and fortitude that’s completely satisfying on many levels.
I love to sing...tell my neighbors...sorry, bout the music...they' think l am the radio...nope, just me...peace
This was a really good era to be into rock tbh, the most obvious ofc Linkin Park Evanescence Three Doors Down Bullet for my Valentine Three Day Grace Puddle of Mudd Seether My chemical romance pierce the veil etc Rock changes through the years just as every other music
@@semekiizuio Now we can only relive these moments through festivals like When We Were Young. I miss 2000s rock haha
I am too I like this song but it’s a little too popish for me. I get it he needed a couple catchy hits for the radio.
It's funny how he Lost American Idol, but did WAY better then the winner.
Being a winner in American Idol dosen't really dictate how that person will do later on in his carrer.
Enzo Bautista it's still amusing regardless. The winner is supposed to be THE one that goes on to big things which hasn't been the case for the majority of these people.
Angry Big Show The exception is Kelly Clarkson, who is perhaps the most successful Idol winner. I think after the abundance of Idol-like shows started appearing the effect lost it's appeal. Just because someone didn't win doesn't mean they can't make a record label lots of money.
Only 3 had ANY thing after AI, and only two continued to make music.
I think it has to do with song writing.
this man was beyond the time in those days when releasing these tracks

This songs brings me back right to middle of 00s, to the bloom of my youth and school days. Awesome!
This song resonates with me pretty strongly. Growing up with two parents who had drug issues (RIP both of them now,) my mother went thru a phase in her life and ended up in prison and eventually cleaned up her life. I remember so many times from my father how he would go through the destructive cycle of drug abuse to try and straighten his life out so many times...the pain, the regret, the heartache and all the rest of it...and having to hold onto it for years without being able to say anything out of respect or fear; this song will forever hold a place in my mind and my heart.
I hope your doing well mate.
Be well my friend.. be well
Oh man, i am humbled by your comment .
I can somewhat relate to your pain man. Shit sucks. I'm sorry you and everyone else went through something like that. I just wish we couldve changed things for them. I have nothing to say that will help, because nothing anyone said to me has changed anything, and I know words will never stop what happened, but just know you're not alone, and I hope you eventually live an amazing and positive life.
This is really powerful and RIP to your parents may they be well, and hope you and everyone in this comment section have a beautiful day and life.

bucky468
And you're joking.
bucky468 Wouldn't one of the necessary parallels be,..that they were in the same genre of music? Christopher Cross..was Pop music...As far as I know, Daughtry is not...And their styles are very very different...Christopher Cross' music was over polished..over published..and very plastic....Daughtry is all real..very real...very earthy..very much from the ground up..which makes his music lovely...in a natural earthy way..And that is why I am a fan...He is not plastic at all.
I never liked Christopher Cross...couldn't stand his plastic music..nor Styx...OMG...plastic, contrived, stilted,..awful..like so many others...
Daughtry knows where his balls are...which is why he is so believable. Christopher Cross sung like he had none...not sure he did.

Also, he found out that he had a child. When he saw that he had a family of his own who still loved him, even though he done bad things long ago. He was really happy. So, he wanted to change his life around to help take care of his family. He loved his girlfriend and his daughter so much. He didn't want to lose them. So, he went out to look for work to provide for his girlfriend and daughter. When he found work, he earned a little bit of money to go buy something special for his girlfriend. Chris Daughtry is probably the most underrated artist and the best/second best person to come from American Idol
Who's the first?
What happened? Remember when music used to ABOUT SOMETHING??
I miss this kind of songs.
You just have to look. Many songs still have meaning.
@Da Cashman songs about racism is boring any racism against anyone idc I just wanna have a good time instead of a bunch of whining bitches.
Yes I do
@Da Cashman This kind of music is finding positives in the negatives of the world or the past and make the listener happier and engaged. Those things you've listed are just negative whining that things aren't fair when life just isn't fair get over it. They are a negative spiral and they cause a negative mental attitude vs this positive mental attitude.
This song has ALWAYS given me chills. It's just so perfect! Hitting all the spots that make a song great!
Radio 📻 Rock for some 2006 nostalgia. I can't believe 2006 is now almost 20yrs ago. Seems like just yesterday it was 1990 and I was graduating HS.
