Wow... I just realized that when the dad said “you smell so good “ to his son that he had spent the last 2 days smelling his daughters rotting living corpse.
good observation
Un desastre mala pelicula
Jajaja!
Yes, the great and terrible because the husband wasn’t ready to say goodbye to his nine year old daughter yet and now he wants his wife to hug the child while she still there because I cannot believe that a stinking, living corpse of a nine year old child will come back from the dead just agreed the family right after being buried in that place.
@@jenniferhiggins227 you seriously expect logic from a horror film lol
The acting is very good. Your mother clearly wants to love her but she knows that it's wrong...
The moms acting sucks
@ bro what her acting was amazing
iAMGayBisexual does it tho bc if u see one of ur family members just die and then there walking I would freak out and call the police

Still, I probably would took the kid and the car and move away from there in that same moment. Worst of all that his husband told her about the cemetery.

That mom had the only correct reaction to something like that. It's sad when someone dies.... but if they die... you should leave them dead. Cause you don't know what it is you're bringing back. That mom was completely right to be terrified.
Yes, other than the fact that she did not grab the baby and book it out of there, that is sure as Hell what I would have done. He can stay there with his undead child, I would have no part of any of it!
@@chloedassler6156 To be honest that is one of the reasons why the remake doesn't work for me. They erased the slight patriarchal way of the original, made the wife more independent and also more level headed... which is cool, but the way she, they way THEY were in the original served a purpose, it influenced their character and decision making. They removed those aspects and didn't replace them with anything else, leaving a blank. Why didn't she book it out of there, damn it? Why? She wasn't in that much of a shock to render her useless. She was sound of mind yet she just sat in the room waiting for the malicious zombie to attack her and the baby.
If it was me I'd have a weapon out ready ammunition would be beside me.
It's a movie. There's no coming back from that lol
@@duanespeck2316 we know , what we are assuming things they portrayed in that movie , no way we will hug a stinking corpse , the feeling will be so eerie
"mommy doesn't want me here? its ok~ I don't want her here either" that makes me hair stand on end~ makes my blood run cold, esp. in the quiet way she says it creepy... disturbed
Why they didn't want jete
Lazeal Carter huh?
After years of living with a mean mother who never liked me, was manipulating and controlling and very degrading towards me I'm sure I would be the little girl coming back to haunt her.
Me too way to creepy
@@lovelovelove779 she's not a zombie
In the book when Rachel was 8 she watched her sister die in front of her from spinal meningitis and had horrific nightmare scenarios about her sister coming back from the dead to kill her for letting her die. So yeah, probably not that great to see your dead child come back to life uttering the words your also dead sister used to say.
that was phenomenal acting from the mother
nah man if my husband brought back my dead daughter i’d be so mad. like grieve all you want hun you do you but please don’t invite the DEMONS

The alternate ending was f*cking twisted
Pill Cosby so what?
@@hudson8776 what was he alternate ending?
They did a very good job conveying the sadness in this story as well as the horror. I do not scare easily at all, but damn this book messed with my head because of the horrible grief of losing a child and it being so overwhelming that you would do anything to try to set things right
how are there actually poeple that are questioning the logic of the mother's reaction?
imagine you are a parent, who just recently burried thier young child, only to out of nowhere a few days later (right after your husband told you he stole their body and "brought them back") you see them...with the full look and aroma of death, but "alive" and acting "off"...as if like nothing happend.
you would likely be scared to even speak with them, let alone hug them.
That's why im mad they didn't put the story of Timmy in the film. Judd explaining how it was an abomination.
Hell to the naw
Both parents were on the opposite ends of the grief spectrum. The mother just wants move on, but the dad can’t cope with her death.
@@skyofthelivingdead
At least the dad is the one mourning the longest usually it's the mom who does.
I think my favorite thing about this movie is how it’s for once the father who is having a hard time coping and processing his daughters death instead of the mother. They always make it the mother in the movies.
If it was son , the role would have been reversed , opposite gender love each other and has very little in common to disgust
@@Manishnishad007 This isn’t the original version. This is the remake. In the Original 1989 version it’s the son that gets hit by a tractor trailer and dies, not the daughter. And it’s still the father who mourns longer than the mother and can’t except the sons death. So no, it’s not based on gender, it’s based on the bond between a parent and child, and the parent’s personality. My mother would have a much harder time letting go and excepting my death compared to my father.
@@FlowersForAlgernon.
Nice to see the dad mourning the longest compared to the mom..
@katelynthewhitewerewolf6376 he never said anything about a man mourning a loss longer. It was in the 1989 original, that's what he's talking about, not IRL...the original movie.
the original is better and a lot more true to the book, which is an amazing read and terrifying but not like "bloody, scary paranormal" but b/c of how psychologically it hits you while you see the decline of sanity of Louis Creed and why he uses the burial ground and for a minute it makes you wonder if you would actually do the same and that's truly horrifying...even King thought he went too far when he wrote it and that this novel scared him the most. That's why the tagline originally was (and was said in the book and movie) "Sometimes, dead is better"
"Living dead girl" I see what you did there 👍🤘
What? That term has existed for literal decades
It's a Rob zombie song "living Dead girl"

A mothers instinct has existed before people could write. It's primal.
Don’t do it Rachel don’t hug a dead child she supposed to rest in peace
They literally spell it out in the movie. The little girl came back as a WENDIGO.
A Wendigo can only be created with a WRONGFUL death.
@@coriander_shea
Wonder what would happen with a rightful death the same thing but having full control of yourself?
@@katelynthewhitewerewolf6376 I feel like there is an agenda driven double entendre here. I believe you mean “NATURAL” death.
Then she would just die and her Soul would most likely pass on.
I saw that scene in the theatres...geez I about lost my mind; the makeup was so perfect and Ellie looked creepy as hell... brilliant!!
Amy is such a underrated actress
Should have played that song by Rob Zombie. Living Dead Girl.
LMAO
He's like hug your daughter
This disturbs me...yet I love it.
Amy Seimetz bodied the role of Rachel! Omg!! Felt her anxiety through the screen
"The Great and Terrible."😳 Damn!!
What did she mean by that
@@jelenazalac6245 It's a thing from the book. Rachels sister, Zelda, had this idea of "Oz the gweat and tewwible." who is basically death. It's too long to go into indepth, but I recommend you check out the book. The audiobook is great.
@Eclairz thanks I will
lol she ran upstairs when I would have ran out the door
They can say what they want about the sequel, it's very well acted from everyone.

The mother is rather scared than happy
Super movie 👌❤
The father is the most screwed up character ever.
Wonderful!
She scared me 😂😂😂😂😂
In old movie the baby was dead, in new movie it is the daughter
Nice
Instead of going up the stairs, I would have gone out of the house. And never went back.
Best horror thriller
When she hugged the mom. Perfect moment for the mom to snap it's neck and throw it to the dog if she had one.
Lol, there's no way the Wendigo would let that happen.
I don't think she could've
I wish Amy Seimetz was in more stuff. She's a fantastic actor.
Am I the only one that this scene annoys?' lol I would have turned around, grabbed Gage, ran out the door, got into my car and NEVER look back.
Same…zombies and creepy kids are a both big no’s for me…combine them and I’m moving to a new country
Night of living dead girls
I would be casting banishing spells like no tomorrow
It’s interesting and not many would pick up on this but the old man literally gave the WENDIGO permission before she could kill him. She could harm him, but she didn’t actually kill him until he verbally gave her permission.
😂😂😂😂
This gives me resident evil 7 vibes...Evie...
How this not have more likes?
Dude YES
I freaking love this movie
I prefer the old one tho not so much the new onEq
I like both equally
"Hug your daughter"
"I can't, she's not here"
I actually loved that movie 😂. That girl's acting is sick
Sorry but imagine what this mother has gone through. She has lost her daughter, is dealing with trauma from her childhood, has another child to look after, and all of a sudden has gone through grief only for her to come back and give you a whole load of new emotions and confuse you.
FBI: Nope...
lmfao - “hug your daughter, rachel.”

What did Gage say?
Im. Got. To. Pray for the y’all
‘Hello Dr Freud? Yeah, we have an Œdipian case here...’
What he brought was a demon in the girls body😂😂😂
They never go back the way they used to.
I want to watch this
not scary, im confused. was that scary. seemed like their daughter was just very lost in thought. doesnt seem dead at all
oh SHE LOOKED DEAD~ MATTED HAIR, WHITISH SKIN, YOU CANT TELL THERES NOT SOMTHING VERY WRONG WITH HER... NO EMOTION...
She was supposed to seem off but not like a complete stereotypical zombie. When they come back they are creepy but not totally monstrous like your typical living dead. I also like how she does not coming back hateful right off the bat it takes a few hours unlike Gage from the original.
well imagine if you went through the trama of having lost your young child, only to soon after see her standing right in front of you,"almost" as alive as can be...that would be terrifying.
see the people that return from the burial ground aren't exactly "Zombies" in the traditional sense, rather risen bodies possessed by the wendigo. hence why they can masquerade as the person to a degree and act "alive"
That’s some great acting from the mother and daughter although I feel like neither iteration of the story did the book justice and I don’t know if they could’ve made a movie that would’ve done the book justice considering the source material probably would’ve just been too much even nowadays for people to see on screen
It was almost too much for Stephen King himself. Pet Sematary is that scary and harsh book.
"Its okay, i dont want her here either."
Oh thats sad not horror
Bruh, how is that sad?!
She's basically plotting against her mother lmao

Exactly. I hated how in this movie they made it seem as if either there’s no God or He doesn’t do anything for us. As both a Stephen King fan and a christian, I was really disapointed.
If it weren’t for that, I would have loved the movie.

I'm curious what percentage of people would actually bring back loved ones from the dead if given the opportunity knowing that when they come back that their personality will be different...
I'd leave em dead. It was their personality that person my loved one. Anything different is nothing but a mockery and an insult to the deceased.
@@midasthestallion4105 Yeah grief can make people do crazy stuff though.... A lot of parents do not recover when their child dies young. I think a decent percentage of parents might if given the opportunity.
I think too many to count would.
It's not actually them though, it's the Wendigo using their bodies and memories and acting as such.
