Oh man, I like that Boat has all bells and whistles packed in a 12-foot boat. Real nice work
Thanks for the great feedback
I like the switch panel setup, looks great.
Very cool setup! Great value!
Nice video and setup . Going all inn love it
Nicely made video. You’ve done an excellent job on the fit-out. It’s all very neat and I didn’t see a wire. I bought a 3.6m Haines Hunter tinny today which must have been made in the early nineties but I have yet to check. $350 FB marketplace. It’s in pretty good nick and I will definitely use your ideas, especially a pet peeve of mine, no through hull fittings. This tinny has only the bung hole and apparently it leaks a little! Lol.
What a nice setup!!
That's an awesome build. Great job!
+Couple of Adventures Thanks mate!
super clean! Nice work!
Thanks, it’s a really practical setup
Great job mate. Well done. :-).

Nicely done, sir. I've saved this video as one of my "reference" videos for when I start the deck on my 14' Tracker. What length is your boat?
+Daniel Cartis Thanks, comment appreciated. Mine is 3.89m (12ft 7"). I'm going to do an update video soon, explaining about the wiring and changes I'd make if I did it again. Oh an the additions I've made.
Great wee 15hp two stroke good power and torque. Can’t help but think if your going to be cruising at 20mph a 4stroke 25hp might be better as the 2 strokes don’t like to sit at the same revs for longs times. But nothing beats a 2 stroke for power to weight reliable we motor
I know what you mean, the area where I launch my boat is 6 knots, by the time I reach the main channel it’s always choked up. After a few seconds on close to full throttle it soon clears out. I don’t tend to stay at the same rpm for long.
AirEarthSalt it’s a nice wee set up
Give yourself a pat on your back gr8 result and not over done.
Thank you 😀
If you ever sell that 2 stroke I'd pay you what you bought it for new! They're hard to come by now haha

Nice work bro...I got a 3.7 pathfinder with 15 Yamaha.i get 54kmh..with the boat jacked n 200 ml of fuel..I won’t to put in a centre console how much u recon it would cost ..eg spedo stearing.....
54kmh, that’s fast for a 15HP. Not sure on the cost but it would be good to have a console and steering wheel
How? I got a 15hp yamaha too but what kind of pitch do you have on your propeller?
what'd you use to support the casting deck up front mate?
Sits on the forward seat and frame for the anchor locker
How thick is the aluminum plate used?
1.6mm sides, 2.0mm bottom
I am looking to buy either an inflatable dinghy or one of the above. What would you recommend from the perspective of safety, durability etc.?
Depends on your needs. An inflatable has better buoyancy but not so practicable for fishing off and not as durable long term. It really depends on what you want.
@@AirEarthSalt I live in Scotland: so I'll be use either to fish off of a River, Loch or Canal. I heard that a dinghy is probably safer than a Tinny, would that be right?
Using 2 cycle oil in exceeding manufacture recommendations will cause carbon build up in your rings causing premature loss of cylinder to piston seal.
Run in per the book
Treated lumber contains copper which will react with aluminum causing an irreversible corrosive chain reaction and result in holes all through the floor.
That's correct, all the timber is epoxy coated
How long is the boat
3.89m (12.76ft)
What size boat you pushing?
3.89m
What is the weight of the boat?
100kg empty, no engine etc
what type of sounder is that? Lowrance Hook series?
+Jaks Channel yep, hook 4 with navionics charts. Love it
i am looking to get a stesssco squire 389 and this video helped me out alot thanks mate
+Jaks Channel no worries, sorry for the delay in replying. I got the stessco squire because for the size boat the sides (freeboard) was much higher than others.
+Jaks Channel the only additional thing I've done since the update video is sprayed a small area of the deck Matt black around the nav light so I don't get glare at night. It's helped a lot. If you have any questions once / if you've got it let me know.
thanks heaps dude
👍👍👍
Thanks Francisco
bty 40 kmph is 24 mph for us American audience members .
Sam krieger or 666.666 meters per minute if you insist on using useless measurement units.
music please?
Was one of UA-cam’s free ones... can’t remember what it was sorry
I like to buy this aluminum boat
me hear in 2021
Tidy
If by "treated timber" you mean pressure treated wood...get rid of it because it will eat through your aluminum boat. Google it.
+Kennnny77 Not pressure treated, I epoxy coated it with west system. I will google it, sounds bad... thanks.
never use marine ply in ali alloy boats - the copper in the treatment will eat through the metal hull
+Marcus Petraska All timber has been sealed with epoxy. So the electrolysis between the copper treatment and the aluminium should not occur. I've had the boat 1 year so far and all looks the same as the day I bought it. Thanks for the advice.
You should be good with it being sealed. However, never use treated wood in alloy. I learned this the hard way....
Treated lumber chemicals attack aluminum.
Was all covered in epoxy but have heard treated timber attacks aluminium... good point
Everything was put together quite well. Awesome video, awesome tinny set up
With all the weight you added, you need at lest a 25 hp. Bruh, what's wrong wit ya?
15hp is plenty fast reaching 24mph
Going 25hp will only increase the speed by 4-5mph and the price of the engine will be and extra $1,500
@@plumbing-away yeah I can see your point! I had a Yamaha 15 it served me well! But at one point I had a second then a third child, so I upgraded to a 48 inch bottom and a 25 2 stroke Yamaha the overall performance was the same! Cheers mate!
No need, I’m very happy with the performance, even 4 up it goes well.
Anoyying music
Sorry about that, you could have muted it
