A correction: JP's SA3 leaves the opponent FARTHER than before and less plus. It is strictly a nerf. Before, like with Marisa's level 3, JP was left very close to the opponent and could get a ton of oki. In many ways, his level 3 was better than his CA for that reason. Now it's in line with most of the cast in terms of advantage and distance after use.
You are truly a GOAT for these videos. It's so hard to visualize what the patch notes are saying sometimes, so I always hope and wait for your visual guides. Thank you for your hard work!👽

Amazing video. Small note about Ryu: his b.hk buff makes it so it's very consistent after od donkey kick, meaning you should always go for it into h.dp for max damage. It's so much better that you can go for b.hk level 1 from the od donkey kick.

As a newly made Blanka main for a while now, it's insane watching you do blanka chan combo's that I can't even do (I never use blanka chan so far and i'm plat 5). I'm impressed at your skill in fighting games. I'm fairly new so combo's still break my brain and I'm not flexible with them yet, so I suppose it makes sense. Respect. And thanks for the great video. I read the patch notes but now it makes way more sense. I just didn't understand many of the implications.

@zukuu Seems like a net positive to me, but I guess we'll see. Big damage is kind of her whole thing and now she can do even bigger damage. Wakeup drive reversal seems to be the intended solution for poor defense, so she should see more benefit from that than most.
@@duden2217 Oki leads to damage. Scutum into DI leads to damage. OD Gladius into LVl 3 is damage. She lost so much damage POTENTIAL. All her buffs are meaningless. Who ever uses a fully charged s.HP in neutral? She didn't get any help to deal with pressure or better anti air tools. f.HK-target combo is the only new thing she basically has and that's definitely a net negative overall.

I'm a Cammy main, and that change to the HP->HK target combo is a game changer. Before, its only use was to cancel into EX Cannon Strike and do a super, and even then there are more damaging options for that. It's unsafe on block, doesn't lead into meaningful damage, etc. Now? You can cancel it into Hooligan for a mixup, cancel it into Spiral Arrow for corner carry, hell, you can still even use it for Supers and now it's meterless!!! There's so many more uses for it now

50:30 - It's always crazy to me how two frames faster can feel SO MUCH in my brain after being used to the 21 frames for so long, even though it's literally just a thirtieth of a second faster. EX Condor Wind looks so fast to me now.
Thanks for the vid sir, keep rocking. As prompted, some value context on the Zangief change for normal Borscht Dynamite. The OD version was previously the only way to use the move in combos at all which was often a follow up to SA2 (hold/air hit) commonly, with punish counters like 5HK after blocking a DP. Normal Borscht can now work in those combos for a meterless option you did not before at the tradeoff of slightly less damage where it would whiff before. It is slightly more restrictive than OD still where for example 5HK punish counter can be immediately followed by OD or normal Borscht now, 5HK PC into hellstab can only be followed by OD and normal still whiffs that extension. Hopefully useful info. o7

I love how they nerf JP again, like he was running the game or something, but I don't recall him winning any big tournaments and he's been one of the least reoccurring top tiers characters in tournaments. They just went into this patch with a narrative and didn't want a zoner to be one of the best in the game.
I wouldn't blame them, he's been the most cried about character since launch. He still got complained about after his initial nerfs a few months ago and that's when I knew everyone who was complaining were just bad at the game because he was way less of a problem. But they listened to the scrubs there
As a Honda player, I went into this video afraid and ended it... fairly happy. With a lot of these changes, it feels like he's finally going to be able to play the game in the same way everyone else can.

As a Ken and Leo main I don’t know what I did to have my mains dodge nerfs the way they do. Also thank God they buffed Gief. He’s a lot of fun and I can’t wait to try him out this patch.

Why does this video not have 1 million views? People complain about how difficult and complicated fighting game are. Rooflemonger is LITERALLY holding your hand and walking you through it. For Zangief it would have been good to mention that 6MK is now -3 instead of -4 point-blank, meaning it's always safe. Also I would have appreciated it if you looked into the non-EX air spd changes, since I was really curious about what those patch notes entailed specifically.
iirc, before the Patch zangief could not combo into air spd at all. Now he can but it is more strict than ex air spd, so it doesn't work for every combo. Its a neat thing for when you get a juggle while in burnout. Sadly, at certain ranges medium target combo still whiffs but it seems to be better than before. Also, with Headbutt being +7 now, it means you can always combo into hellstab which again really helps with his damage. You technically did point it out when you talked about DR low medium being +7 and thus comboing into hellstab but i felt it was worthing pointing out again.
Biggest change for zangief is by far headbutt being +7 in hit. lariat and headbutt damage buffs in tandem means his best meterless damage last patch was 2100 (headbutt - lariat) and now its *2960* (headbutt- hellstab-lariat), not to mention headbutt lariat wasn't a reliable confirm so really the damage increase from a stray headbutt is more like 900 to 2960, an insane 2060 damage increase. Zangief pressure is now really really scary.
