- Habibati! We're back for round 2 of the INSANE phenomenon that is Dimash! You guys suggested I check out the song 'Sinful Passion' and boy was it a good choice! Simply incredible! I just don't understand what he's doing or how he's doing it most of the time and I love that, it feels like an entirely new experience all together, like the first time I'm hearing anyone sing!

Honestly, I think only totally non musical people could not be impressed by Dimash.
I never met or saw a person who knows music even just as a simple listener, that wouldn't stare in awe at the screen, while Dimash was singing.
There's no point in mentioning music experts or musicians....there comes the REAL appreciation and respect. Oh, yeah. He is loved and respected by all musicians, composers, voice teachers and producers, especially the ones who worked with him. They love not just his enormous talent but his sweet personality. They say, he is a pure, intelligent, gentle, loving, humble kid with the mind, heart, education and work ethic of a very old soul.
He walks in, dressed like a kid from the neighborhood, hugging everyone with a big smile, joking around.....and then he starts working and everybody is blown away by how he transforms into this mature, serious, extraordinary musical genius 🙂
His transformation when he is on stage! I think his parents have also noticed, they can "hardly recognize him" when he starts to sing. It is as if he has channeled the muses of music.
Totally agree with you. Before knowing him, I only enjoy music from the beat. I don't really care about the vocal or things like that. But when I heard him sings, all that changed. I didn't know someone's voice can be like that. That singing can be this stellar.

I am so on the same page. I first encountered him about a year ago. I'm79. I had depression for over 40 years at time. Three days of Dimash, and no more depression. Severe, debilitating headaces, same thing. And every time I watch/hear him, it's so incredibly, his voice so miraculous, his face so angelic and dear. Well, he worked hard for this. Born with perfect pitch, but also a passion for singing, even as an infant. And he trained--formally, from the age of 5, but was giving little concerts even at age2-3. He loves music, Arab Man. He said, "Look in my heart, you'll find music.Look in my head,you'll find music." And he has been a good and faithful servant to that music, training EVERY day for at least3 hours besides preparation for performances. He got it as a gift, at birth, and then he repaid by loving it immaculately and completely.
Even with my wretched, sticking keyboard, I could go on all night about this. I'm SO glad to see someone like you discovering him. I could see love in your face, for his angelic voice. Thank you for being one of the ones who GETS Dimash! And thank you for the passionate reaction.
The signs people hold say Dimash...He got the respect. The man in white shirt at the end of this is famous composer and writer Igor Krutoy from Russia. He is a multi billionaire who came out of retirement to work with Dimash..They have done great things together..

Dimash from home brought respect for the elders and support for the younger ones. Once, when he met an old couple at the airport, he immediately gave up his seat to an old lady (the woman probably had no idea who he was - just an ordinary, nice young man 😊), and when he found out in the "Best in the World" program that he was competing with children, he immediately withdrew from it (before signing the contract, he asked if children take part in the program, because in his culture adults do not compete with children, they support their development - in response to his confession, the jury behaved in my opinion disrespectful and insulting towards his tradition, and yet he kept his class 😊). Dimash z is like opium - it's addictive fast and strong 😅 Fortunately it's a kind of drug that you can take without limits 😆

Now I give a little information about the song "Sinful Passion". This song is old. She's over 20 years old. The first performer of this song was a singer from Kazakhstan Batyrkhan Shukenov (he died in 2015). Dimash beautifully sang in Russian language a cover of the song "Sinful Passion" 09.09.2018 at the "New Wave" festival in Sochi (Russia). He didn't imitate the first performer. Dimash used all his phenomenal abilities and made a completely different interpretation of this song. I can't remember a single song where the singer changed 5 voices (from baritone to soprano) and 4 octaves in one song. And Dimash did it easily. Dimash tells a great story and draws us into it. Many viewers cry, others have chills. And all together they sit like under hypnosis.
And I’ve heard the middle part is imitating a funeral cry as a tribute to the original singer

What can be better than Dimash's own words? Here are some of his thoughts:
I want to be successful, I want to show the culture of Kazakhstan in front of the world. And what I can do is sing.
Everything good and bad is just one moment in life. For me spiritual features of the person are more important than his professional achievements. We came to this life to be human, not singers or teachers, but to be human first of all. We should cherish spiritual values and human qualities. I am grateful to my listeners for their admiration, but sometimes they tend to idealize me. I am an ordinary guy like everybody else. It is the fans who make "stars" out of the artists. My fans are so devoted and give me so much support! They are like family to me.
Of course, everyone likes to hear kind words - you are fine.. you are handsome, you are very talented. But a singer belongs to a group that needs to be strict and firm on their own (on themselves by their own choice). Hearing these words, the singer should be excited and encouraged to work even harder, to further music creation to the next level.
Honestly, I do not like the entertainment circle. To the audience, the artist should be someone who can be an example. They like our song, so they will imitate. So, I think artists need to take the opportunity to try to do something that is educational.
It is important to retain who you are always. We cannot lose our character, wherever you may be. Whether you are a singer artist, a teacher or doctor. One should become a respected person, not proud or complacent.
Any status, any competition cannot give the singer success. The success of the singer is his audience.
In my own inner world, my feelings for the fans, my love and passion for them - I can only use songs to convey. I do not know how to express some of the thoughts in my heart. So sometimes I feel depressed. But I just want to say one thing...No one can take away my love for you. Wherever there are you, there is Dimash on the stage.

Are you still hooked to the first reactioners of Dimash? About 3 years for me and everyday it has been since. I'm 60 in St Louis and love reactions like his. Dimash is this perfect human showing us how to live with his level of love and connection to the universe. I just now realized I've listened to him more than anybody else in my life, if you add up the hours.

I completely agree with you! One day I believe Dimash will be the most respected musician in the world! He’s already the best vocalist I’ve ever heard in my life and I have yet to see anyone react to him that wasn’t completely blown away! Despite the fact that I personally have known this name for a long time, I have never heard it until recently. It's amazing how this is possible. Shamefully. His talent and soul are the ocean. Что меня действительно удивляет так это слушатели. Я не понимаю, как можно прослушать такое прекрасное исполнение и остаться сидеть с каменным лицом? His father (who is also in his management) once answered the question in an interview: the melismas before and after the riff (which aren’t the unususual thing about it) are indeed Eastern melismas (but not necessarily Middle-Eastern, the same technique is used in Arabic countries but also in other Eastern countries (e.g. Central Asian countries like Dimash’s home country Kazakhstan))
However, the fast riff in between is Dimash’s own faster interpretation if an ethnic Yakutian riff according to Dimash’s father. Yakutia is in Siberia, so that part is actually mot Middle-Eastern.

@@lbrounen MaggieRenee used the operatic naming of musical ornament (a kind of vibrate) used especially in baroque music, because the stylization of the funeral lament - used by Dimash - was associated by her just with it.
In fact, it doesn't matter what someone calls it, but what it means in this song, and people have ideas out of this world, in one of the South Korean reactors I even heard a comparison (maybe a bit humorous) to the sounds of Tarzan from a movie about him. And this is just a stylized funeral lamentation that is sometimes heard at Muslim funerals. This is what he performs in this song - where Dimash's suffering after losing his beloved rubs against the grave / death, when he is s ready to descend there to regain her (sinful pasion). The whole structure of this song in Dimash's interpretation looks inspired by the despair of Orpheus after the loss of Eurydice (there is even such an opera). He mentions remembers her, goes down to Hades (Hell) to get her back. There, singing, he first puts to sleep the evil dogs guarding the souls of the dead (Cerbers) - this is the first soprano vocal - then laments death and the impossibility of recovering her (this is the stylized funeral ornament), and then, in an act of last despair, he rises up with the call to "give me" (this is the last part of the song, ending with a 23-second melisma). The song ends with a resignation that was not captured by the camera in this reacted video. In fact, at the very end, Dimash lowers his hand, resigned. In later interpretations, Dimash added a final parlando so that the song doesn't end with just a gesture.

THE SIGN WAS SAYING I love Dimash. yes he is an extraordinary singer. i think he can sing in 8 different languages/ plays multible instruments/ has a range of 6 octaves/ and had hit a d 8 in his song unforgettable. quite an amazing individual.

Thank you for your second reaction to Dimash, we've been waiting. Four years ago I said the world is a better place because Dimash is singing in it. I still say it. When an interviewer asked Dimash the strange question, "What color is music?", he quickly answered , "Chameleon." As you continue your journey into his music, Dimash proves the depth of that answer over and over again.
