So much is clear: You have been dimashed. SOS d'un terrien en détresse, one of the most difficult contemporary songs to sing. There are two popular versions by Dimash (and some less viewed ones). • The first one is from a Chinese TV show called "I am a singer" in early 2017 where he was invited as a stranger among a number of well-known and seasoned Chinese vocalists, and the youngest singer to ever perform there (22). SOS was his first performance, and he had to sing first in the first episode. You can tell that he was nervous, but he put so much emotion into the performance that some in the audience actually started to cry. The low notes in that performance are not the strongest, but otherwise it is another astonishing performance. It marked the entrance of Dimash into the public light. • The other one is from an event called "Slavic Bazaar" in 2018. That performance is a bit less emotional, but the low notes are better developed, his voice has matured. However, the differences are only for Dimash experts. Dimash beginners won't notice them. Both versions are superb, maybe you watch both in one reaction. In the recommended videos on the right, I saw the title "Know". This is a more recent performance where you can see how much he has matured as an artist and how much his voice has improved. In that song he created a completely new singing style, blending the register flip technique you heard here with jazzy scat singing. It's amazing. One last recommendation: Stay away from videos that were released from the "World's Best" show. They hacked his performances to pieces to save time, they made him compete against children whereupon he quit the show. People just get thrown for a loop by his soprano register, and some people ask that question either jokingly or out of genuine curiosity/ignorance. It's not entirely unfounded, though- Castrati were a thing back when women weren't allowed in choirs. It's illegal in most (if not all) places now, but most people aren't aware of this.

Love what you wrote! Just want to correct one thing. Dimash is not using Joqtaw singing here. What Dimash is doing here is caledl a "cords tremolo". This guy in this link explains it . ua-cam.com/video/5dK1CKdHM2E/v-deo.html It's in spanish so you will have to auto-translate it to english. Joqtaw or Zhoktau are traditionally funeral laments by women. Indeed, if you look them up on youtube all you see is women offering a lament for someones passing. And none of them sound like what Dimash did here. Cords tremolo is a fluctuation in volume using quick manipulation of the diaphragm. People always say Dimash's breath control comes from swimming. His lung capacity is helped by his swimming. But his control comes from the diaphragm. Dimash has amazing control over his diaphragm. What he is doing here is not Vibrato (fluctuation between two notes) it's not Yodeling (a fluctuation between two notes farther apart on the scale) it's not a series of glottal stops (closing off the back of the throat). This is not Zhoktau as it doesn't resemble any of them and is done pretty much exclusively by women. This is Cords Tremolo (one note rapid volume manipulation using the Diaphragm). As far as this being a section dedicated to Batyrkhan...I'm not sure. Do you remember where that info came from or know where to find it? @@woronzof3909 No Igor Krutoy is the one running the event. New Wave is Krutoy's event. This particular night is a night completely dedicated to the band Studio-A and their 30 years of music. It was an Aniversary of sorts. The band that played with Dimash (Studio A) was on stage the whole night. There were something like 10 other singers that night and each of them sang a song that was an original song of Studio A. I watched all the performances and all of them were up beat pop songs. Only Dimash sang his song different. Sinful Passion was honestly a giant WOW compared to everything else performed. Igor Krutoy standing up at the end to give Dimash a standing ovation.... He didn't' do that for any other performer that night. And all those flowers Dimash got... no one else got a bunch of flowers like that. They got maybe one or two if they were lucky. Krutoy was so impressed by Dimash (He had only seen him perform one other time) that he invited him to his house the next month to go through Krutoys music.... the rest is history. But long story short... Sinful Passion belongs to Studio A.

I totally agree. Dimash's talent is a gift to humanity and a planetary treasure. No one can compare at the moment with his perfect vocal techniques and breath control. That is why so many qualify him as otherworldly or alien because no one has ever heard anything like it in their lifetime. But besides the sheer talent, Dimash is also a wonderful human being (or alien) and is highly respected by all, as much as he respectful and considerate towards others. But that is another part of the story to tell.

That's the show where he first became really known to the world. First episode is a French song called SOS. He's from Kazakhstan. He just turned 26 though in Jan of 2017 he was 22 years old. He speaks fluent Russian and Kazakh. He's currently learning English and has a tiny bit of Chinese. However, he sings in over 12 languages. He also plays several instruments. I tell you all of this as a simple foundation because I really hope you keep reacting to Dimash. I subscribed hoping you do. He is definitely human. I just think he is "extra" human. Congratulations, you've been Dimashified!! I so love watching people find Prince Dimash, Master of the Goosebumps. Yes, he's a man but not from this planet! His known live range is E1 to D8. Started opera training at 5, mom is an opera star in Kazakhstan, dad is a singer and musician, grandparents are musicians. He's said his vocal chords are larger than usual. Just got his master's degree in composition and is working on his Ph.D. Sings in 12 languages, plays 8 instruments. Yes, all of this is for real. And best of all, he's a true gentleman and very kind. I saw him live in concert in New York City in December and it was unreal, like being immersed in a warm glowing bath of emotion and joy. Enjoy the ride!

SOS d'un terrien en détresse, one of the most difficult contemporary songs to sing. There are two popular versions by Dimash (and some less viewed ones).
• The first one is from a Chinese TV show called "I am a singer" in early 2017 where he was invited as a stranger among a number of well-known and seasoned Chinese vocalists, and the youngest singer to ever perform there (22). SOS was his first performance, and he had to sing first in the first episode. You can tell that he was nervous, but he put so much emotion into the performance that some in the audience actually started to cry. The low notes in that performance are not the strongest, but otherwise it is another astonishing performance. It marked the entrance of Dimash into the public light.
• The other one is from an event called "Slavic Bazaar" in 2018. That performance is a bit less emotional, but the low notes are better developed, his voice has matured. However, the differences are only for Dimash experts. Dimash beginners won't notice them. Both versions are superb, maybe you watch both in one reaction.
In the recommended videos on the right, I saw the title "Know". This is a more recent performance where you can see how much he has matured as an artist and how much his voice has improved. In that song he created a completely new singing style, blending the register flip technique you heard here with jazzy scat singing. It's amazing.
One last recommendation: Stay away from videos that were released from the "World's Best" show. They hacked his performances to pieces to save time, they made him compete against children whereupon he quit the show. They didn't recognize him as the artist that he is but rather presented him as a circus act. These videos are truly hated by fans of Dimash.

People just get thrown for a loop by his soprano register, and some people ask that question either jokingly or out of genuine curiosity/ignorance. It's not entirely unfounded, though- Castrati were a thing back when women weren't allowed in choirs. It's illegal in most (if not all) places now, but most people aren't aware of this.

The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. In addition, the final part he added, ia a traditional qazaq singing, called Joqtaw), is a funeral lament, paying homage to the dead vocalist: Brilliant! Joqtaw or Zhoktau are traditionally funeral laments by women. Indeed, if you look them up on youtube all you see is women offering a lament for someones passing. And none of them sound like what Dimash did here. Cords tremolo is a fluctuation in volume using quick manipulation of the diaphragm. People always say Dimash's breath control comes from swimming. His lung capacity is helped by his swimming. But his control comes from the diaphragm. Dimash has amazing control over his diaphragm.
What he is doing here is not Vibrato (fluctuation between two notes) it's not Yodeling (a fluctuation between two notes farther apart on the scale) it's not a series of glottal stops (closing off the back of the throat). This is not Zhoktau as it doesn't resemble any of them and is done pretty much exclusively by women. This is Cords Tremolo (one note rapid volume manipulation using the Diaphragm).
As far as this being a section dedicated to Batyrkhan...I'm not sure. Do you remember where that info came from or know where to find it? I just want to always double check source info if I haven't seen it myself.

@@woronzof3909 No Igor Krutoy is the one running the event. New Wave is Krutoy's event. This particular night is a night completely dedicated to the band Studio-A and their 30 years of music. It was an Aniversary of sorts. The band that played with Dimash (Studio A) was on stage the whole night. There were something like 10 other singers that night and each of them sang a song that was an original song of Studio A. I watched all the performances and all of them were up beat pop songs. Only Dimash sang his song different. Sinful Passion was honestly a giant WOW compared to everything else performed. Igor Krutoy standing up at the end to give Dimash a standing ovation.... He didn't' do that for any other performer that night. And all those flowers Dimash got... no one else got a bunch of flowers like that. They got maybe one or two if they were lucky. Krutoy was so impressed by Dimash (He had only seen him perform one other time) that he invited him to his house the next month to go through Krutoys music.... the rest is history. But long story short... Sinful Passion belongs to Studio A.

I totally agree. Dimash's talent is a gift to humanity and a planetary treasure. No one can compare at the moment with his perfect vocal techniques and breath control. That is why so many qualify him as otherworldly or alien because no one has ever heard anything like it in their lifetime. But besides the sheer talent, Dimash is also a wonderful human being (or alien) and is highly respected by all, as much as he respectful and considerate towards others. But that is another part of the story to tell.

Yes! Please do more Dimash! I think you should do all of his performances on the 2017 Chinese TV show called "Singer" or "I am a Singer". That's the show where he first became really known to the world. First episode is a French song called SOS. He's from Kazakhstan. He just turned 26 though in Jan of 2017 he was 22 years old. He speaks fluent Russian and Kazakh. He's currently learning English and has a tiny bit of Chinese. However, he sings in over 12 languages. He also plays several instruments. I tell you all of this as a simple foundation because I really hope you keep reacting to Dimash. I subscribed hoping you do. He is definitely human. I just think he is "extra" human. Super humble and kind hearted man as well. Keep going. Every performance is different, every performance will show you some new talent, and every one of them will blow you away. He isn't from area 51, but may have dropped in from another dimension to live in Kazakhstan. 😂 His voice is absolutely amazing, but he himself as a person is too. Even with his fame, he remains, humble, and grounded. Dimash has fans all over the world, and many of his Dears (what he calls his fans) travel all over the world to see him, myself included. The videos of him performing are exceptional, but hearing him live is ethereal. He has trained since he was 5, and is now 26. The high note in this song is an E6. (he has hit a D8!!). That fast vibrato is a type of singing that is native to Central Asia. Dimash is from Kazakhstan). It is usually used at funerals (he was honoring the lead singer of the band behind him, who had died). As you heard, his breath control is amazing. His dynamic control is amazing. Congratulations, you've been Dimashified!! I so love watching people find Prince Dimash, Master of the Goosebumps. Yes, he's a man but not from this planet! His known live range is E1 to D8. Started opera training at 5, mom is an opera star in Kazakhstan, dad is a singer and musician, grandparents are musicians. He's said his vocal chords are larger than usual. Just got his master's degree in composition and is working on his Ph.D. Sings in 12 languages, plays 8 instruments. Yes, all of this is for real. And best of all, he's a true gentleman and very kind. I saw him live in concert in New York City in December and it was unreal, like being immersed in a warm glowing bath of emotion and joy. Enjoy the ride!
