“Go!!!” by FLOW (Naruto) is forever a favorite. And “Aozora No Namida” by Takahashi Hitomi (Blood+) is amazing too.

I am appalled that no tracks by Burnout Syndromes were on this list! "Fly High" and "Hikari Are" from Haikyuu are Impeccable and let us not soon forget Dr. Stone's "New World." Burnout Syndromes is an amazing band and they deserves recognition and admiration!

Whoever did this list, either was born yesterday or started watching anime yesterday. Pretty much everything is what's popular now. Where's the 2000s animes? 90s? 80s? Saint Seiya? Hokuto no Ken? Gundam?
Agreed, there's so many anime shows with great music that could have been on this list. Pokemon obviously had a super popular theme song, and what about Dirty Pair, Urusei Yatsura, even some of the more modern shows like K-On? A most popular anime songs of all time list without Moonlight Densetsu or Speed Racer? Come on... 😆

Doraemon, Voltes V, Yu Yu Hakusho, Flame of Recca, Slam Dunk, Magic Knight Rayearth, Hunter x Hunter, Ranma 1/2 had iconic songs that should've been included in this list

😢 you missed Death Note’s “What’s Up People?”, the opening in the second season. A perfect encapsulation of the psychological tension and drama in that epic anima and manga.
the ending "Zetsoubo Billy" was also good too, if i'm not wrong it was same group (Maximum teh Hormones) who sing the opening right?

You can say many things about Bleach but you have to agree that music from this show is just incredible. Every time I hear Ranbu No Melody I just have goosebumps.
Fire Force also had 3 banger oppenings beeing "Inferno" "Mayday" and my favourite "Spark again"

Number One is up there as one of the best hero themes out there. Bleach is like Naruto, you may not like one part of it or even all of it but you gotta admit the music is rock solid.

Also, middle school me trying to memorize the lyrics of Again, especially the fast parts.
Unravel seemed to be so popular. Especially as it seemed the first of its kind to make the verses so soft and quiet before exploding in the chorus. It was quite popular that I remember someone using the first word of the song to cover up a swear word
I think Sailor Moon's "Moonlight densetsu" was pretty popular at its time, And I'm also sure that yoasobi's "Idol" will soon be joining the list.

Anyone remember the Chobits opening? That shit was wild. I also feel like the first Bleach OP Asterisk was more popular? Maybe not mainstream but it was more iconic for the series I think.

naruto prob has the most memorable anime songs out there but silhouette and haruka kanata are the ones that comes to mind first when i think of naruto songs. my personal favorite was flow - sign

Maybe not most popular but i have to say Mukanjyo (Vinland Saga op1) is an absolute banger. Also I think black rover sand black catcher should be in the list

One of the prime reasons why Unravel hits so hard is that it's so deeply tied with the narrative of episode one.
Kaneki wakes up after a near death experience only to realize that he can't consume human food. While barfing out whatever he consumes the lyrics "Oshiete yo Oshiete yo kono shikumi wo" which translates to "tell me, tell me the ways of this life" starts to emerge in the background.
The incorporation of this song perfectly encapsulated the desperation that Kanakei was feeling further cementing the first episode of Tokyo Ghoul as one of the best first episodes of all time.
I guess this is why that this song is so beloved and iconic

A Cruel Angel's Thesis is the most well known anime song. Even people who never saw Evangelion know of that song. Respectfully, it should have been number 1. It's also one of the best openings ever made.

Wasn't Idol from Oshi No Ko literally the most popular song in the world for a few weeks? And I'm pretty sure a lot of songs from Macross have gotten pretty high on the charts.

Probably because a good chunk of people who like anime have never seen Naruto? If you grew up and watched anime in the 80s and 90s, this list just looks like it's pandering to kids with a few notable exceptions
@@LordDragox412 I've never seen Slayers. But Naruto's Fighting Dreamers is such a pillar in the global spread of anime during the pre-streaming era. That song, Bleach's opening, and Full Metal Alchemist (original) were the songs that separated the 00s era from the 90s era in America. Not even One Piece's Opening was popular because we all only knew the American rap version unless we bought the dvds.
The Hero, is one of the most underrated songs/openings of all time. The kind of motivational feeling the whole song gives, is what makes it one of my favourite songs, and number 1 on my gym playlist.

It cannot be understated just how perfect Unravel is for Tokyo Ghoul. If there is anything that people who disliked the anime can agree on is that the OST was given complete justice. The fact that Sui Ishida and TK had met beforehand and that the latter had bought up all the volumes of the manga in rapid succession in anticipation of the track just goes to show why it seems to fit the world so beautifully. Ishida is also the one who picked out the bands for most of the other songs in the show.
I am surprised that Sailor Moons Moonlight Densetsu didn't make the list given how popular the song is.
I get the impression UA-cam views are a major determinant for this list, giving anything released or still running post-2010 a major advantage between both contemporary clicks and just the explosion of the popularity of the medium. No matter how many times I listed to Moonlight Densetsu, Give a Reason or MASK on janky cassette tape recordings on the school bus or later stuff like 'Till the End, Forces, Blurry Eyes or Driver's High on mp3s those don't translate into a single click. I was kinda surprised the first Death Note opening didn't get a spot, but maybe I'm just old.

Fighting Dreamers, the first intro on OG Naruto, and the first themes for Fullmetal Alcemist and Brotherhood are top tier to me
My top 1 would be "Mixed Nuts" by Official Hige Dandism from Spy x Family..the complexity of its musical intruments,; modern blues and the vocalist's excellent voice range..such a great song..

My favorite one for my opinion is Parasyte's opening, it's a banger, great song and great visuals

I expected Tank to be #1. So much of these songs sound the same, almost none sound like Cowboy Bebops Opening. EDIT: Not saying any of these songs are bad lol I love them all. But tank...its just different.
Every time i hear that opening it brings back memories of being like 9 and waking up at 3am to this on. Its weird, it gives me a feeling i cant describe and the memories, while not bad, are only pieces that i really cant put together completely.
The first opening (Again) by FMAB takes me back to my years getting an AA. I felt optimistic about life and happy

Yakusoku wa Iranai (Vision of Escaflowne OP)
Blue (Cowboy Bebop OST)
Cruel Angel's Thesis (Evangelion OP)
Sound Life (Trigun OST)
Tokimeki na Doukasen (Fushigi Yuugi ED theme, although the OP is also up there)
Virtual Star Embryology (Revolutionary Girl Utena ED 2, although again the OP was also excellent)
I might be able to go on, but then it would start getting to "do I really think this is an amazing song that slaps, or is it just a decent song attached to one of my favorite anime I get super nostalgic about?" Because I'm pretty sure at least some of the above already qualify there

I've got to say, in the beggining I often watched anime based on wether I liked their openings, and so I watched Fire force early on. 3 years later, inferno is still my favorite anime Opening and one of the songs I listen to most on spotify
One Piece's iconic 1st ending song, "Memories" is more popular than "We Are".
Also, Naruto's "Blue Bird" is like a national anthem for most Otakus.
Silhouette is so damn good. It's literally timeless.

Not sure about the US or Japan but for a lot of Filipino anime fans in the 90s, Slam Dunk's Kimi Ga Suki Da To holds a special place in our hearts.
It's interesting for me how many of these songs ended up on my workout playlist.
I always thought that Butterfly from Digimon was always a memorable of all time. As well as Orphans no Namida from Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans. Just hits hard if you ask me.
I'm not sure about general popularity but for AoT fans I think Shinzo wo Sasageyo is the ultimate hymn, although when the anime came out for the first time I imagine that opening must have hit unbelievably hard. I's also argue Naruto because Blue Bird is more memorable for me but again, I don't know how the general popularity of the song stands. For me it's more originally sounding than Shilluete. And I gotta say one more thing - there's no more popular song than Deja Vu, let's be honest.

Jonathan Young has amazing metal versions of lots of these themes, Hero from One Punch Man is especially fitting, and what Epica did with the attack on titan songs is just legendary

Literally the only good thing about Tokyo Ghoul was the picking of "Unravel" as the opening. The anime was and is just dogshit.
I totally miss "I am" from Inu Yasha in this list, because this song is one of the best Anime OP-Songs worldwide. That also goes for "Butterfly" from Digimon. If you play that song, every Animefan know it and will sing it. And there are also some very good Openings from Detective Conan.

Sad Wada Kojis Butterfly from Digimon didnt make the list. Siluette was really popular not only because its good, but also its the opening that was being used when the manga ended and the visuals for the opening were great.

I love "Hunting for Your Dream" by Galneryus. It has that 90s rock sound to it and such a bad ass beat. Also love Naruto Shippuden ending theme 28 "Niji". "Ranbu no Melody" Bleach opening 13.

Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex - Inner Universe and Rise are so freakin beautiful. Also a masterpiece by Yoko Kanno who did Cowboy Bebop.

On another note, Guts' theme is one of the most recognizable music out there but since it doesn't really sound like an anime song or a song even it just gets used on random stuff without anyone ever knowing where it came from.
Low key slept on anime songs like Easy Breezy from Keep Your Hands off my Eizouken and more recent tracks like Kick Back from Chainsaw Man are some of my favs....also the ending tune Comedy of Spy Family was so good .

Some songs I listen to often on their own and I think deserves more recognition: Wind - Akeboshi (Naruto), Secret Base - Annohana, Duvet - Lain, Beautiful World - Utada Hikaru (Evangelion). And basically all other songs than Tank! from Cowboy Bebop lol.
