Gon didn't ''release'' his energy, he basically made a vow exchanging all his Nen for the power to defeat Pitou, he basically gave ''Everything'' to kill pitou, which is the reason he ended up in that state. It's really sad and shows how much he cared about Kaito.
Sad to say, Gon's beatdown of the chimera ant is still hard to watch 10 years on,😟 knowing what he gave up to takedown his friend's killer once & for all.😞

He made a nen contract where he basically said give me all the strength I will ever have ( hence his body being forced to immediately grow to his peak strength) , and I will give up my life. He was literally brink of death. The reason he can no longer use Nen is because killua’s sis/bro in order to bring him back to full life and health had to lock away his nen, thus nullifying the nen contract. Otherwise he definitely would have died
I love how Jotaro was keeping track of all the humiliations that Steely Dan put him through and after Jotaro beats him down he takes the paper and throws it at Dan.
I think a recent one-sided fight that wasn't mentioned is Rimuru vs Clayman. Not only was the beatdown satisfying, but it was also hilarious for multiple reasons. 😂

Aizen had also incorporated the Hogyoku into his body, so when the Hogyoku rejected him, he became virtually powerless. In Thousand Year War, he got new powers, but those were separate from the hogyoku I think, as I haven't watched it yet, so I could be wrong.
Or, for that matter, how Frieza got schooled by Goku after the latter became the first Super Saiyan. After interminable episodes watching Frieza get off on how helpless his foes were in his hands, it just felt sooo good to see how he felt about being on the receiving end -- and from someone who wasn't enjoying it at all, but in a rage so white-hot it turned the corner to become ice-cold!

Zatch Bell is such an underrated show. In a world of burly brawl anime fights, Zatch Bell kept the focus on strategy and planning. And with Kiyo being intelligent but a jerk rather than a lovable bumbling loser with no real skills. Opening with his growth as a friend and growing to rely on others rather than just scaling up Zatch's power.
That was one of my favorite anime, it was when I considered an “mine when I was in late grade school, it came out right at the same time as the dub for Naruto, but it had more of a vibe to it, coming from someone who have been watching Pokémon since the tender age of five. I don’t think the entirety got dubbed, I could be wrong.
It's such a shame they didn't end it proper. They got only half the show dubbed, and then even the subbed version altered the second to last arc and skipped over the final arc. I hope they remake it.
Steely Dan's beatdown is one of the most satisfying things to happen in Jojo. And it used to be considered the longest back in the day before Cioccolata was introduced.
Kaneki giving Jason what he dished out with the counting backward as he ripped into him was absolutely fitting and made him one of my favorite characters in anime. Vegeta laying into Android 19 and turning him into a bucket of bolts my all-time favorite and the epitome of Vegeta's cruelty that still resided within him that reminded me of his slaughter on Namek.
I always get a kick out of Kuwabara kicking Risho’s ass, giving Team Uremeshi the win they needed. It’s so hilarious and badass at the same time! Yu Yu hakusho ftw!
And it's even more satisfying that Takamura was fighting him with a handicap due to having to go down to a lower weight class to challenge him, putting a lot of strain on his body before the match.
To me, it should have been Cell. During the Cell Games Saga, the then young teen Gohan and Goku fires up a one big father-son Kamehameha to permanently wiped Perfect form Cell for good.

The horrifying part is that the citizens never lost their humanity bc they did even go after the new meat that showed up. Meaning every person was trapped in their own bodies unable to do anything. Spoil sucked them up to turn into Phase 2. And then Victor sliced him up in a matter of seconds. His core was seen later in a containment vat where he proceeds to cry like a little bitch
Clementine being crushed was so incredibly satisfying. Especially the buildup where she even goes as far as breaking some of her own teeth in order to struggle in futility. Her awful froggy voice begging to be released was satisfying. What a rotten character she was. She deserved ten times the punishment, and got off lightly.

Yu yu Hakusho has some of the best villains, but the one that deserved his fate the most is definitely The Elder Togo Brother. Kurama trapping him with the sinning tree to forever keep Elder Toguro in constant pain, locked within a hallucination of his worst nightmare (or being kept in an eternal showdown against Kurama).Kurama had the best line in the end, 'rogues like you deserve to be damned.'

Takamura vs Bryan Hawk from Hajime No Ippo deserves a mention. Arguably one of the most brutal and cathartic beat downs in anime history.

Yu yu Hakusho has some of the best villains, but the one that deserved his fate the most is definitely The Elder Togo Brother. Kurama trapping him with the sinning tree to forever keep Elder Toguro in constant pain, locked within a hallucination of his worst nightmare (or being kept in an eternal showdown against Kurama).Kurama had the best line in the end, 'rogues like you deserve to be damned.'
