Boy, how time flies! I can't believe this game was 31 years ago and I was the same age as most of the players on the field on both sides at the time. I remember thinking Dallas was going to blow this game at the end. I didn't realize at the time I was witnessing the start of the 90s Cowboys dynasty.
I remember this game.... I was 12 years old born and raised in Dallas.... I remember The Giants with the comeback and making things very interesting.... Thanks for posting this !
Loved Novacek. He actually had wide receiver speed even though he looked gangly when he ran. He was a decathlete so he was an iron man just at home on the track as he was on the field.
@@wokejoke2675 He actually retired in '97. He was on IR all of '96 and initially wanted to return, but it was over. Oh and did the Cowboys suffer without him. In '96 they could move the ball between the 20's as good as they ever had. But once they got in the redzone they became hot garbage. Without Novacek defenses could focus more on stacking the line and stopping the run or blitz the hell out of Aikman. Which they were able to do with much success.
i wanna say that this is the first game that i recall irvin getting a first down and doing the ref signal for same. don't remember seeing anyone do it before michael, but i also don't remember what i had for breakfast last friday morning, so...
They were still a little young and wide eyed in week 2. Jimmy, in typical fashion, ripped them a new one after the game and they didn't make that mistake again.
The Giants started their year literally playing the 2 best teams in the league Niners Cowboys. Even if they were a good team they would’ve still started 0 2.
Cowboys started the season against the 2 previous Super Bowl Champions and whipped both their asses. Great teams win plain and simple. The Giants were still loaded in '92, but their coaching was just awful. Why Wellington Mara didn't lock down Bill Belichick as Parcells replacement is beyond me.
actually he wasnt. There is an old documentary on this season and Jimmy was proud the team stuck together and toughed it out for the win. Sort of a learning experience.
As you can see how soft the professional sports have become. On the first play, the DB tackled Emmitt waaaayy outta bounds, like it was nothing. No flag, no foul, just football. Today, that would've been 15 extra yards no question. #bringbackthenfl
Well, "almost" and "would have been" but wasn't. Dallas was a much better team at that time. Both teams met up again in week 13 and Dallas beat them AGAIN with a final score of 30-3. LT's performance was already declining by then and he was even injured during that 2nd match-up.
The Cowboys hadn't won in New York since 1987 . The Cowboys finally had all the pieces and overcame their demons especially the Eagles when they beat them twice in the year ( once in the regular season and one in the playoffs).

First cowboys game i ever watched. I was 11. Thats the day they become my favorite NFL team. And still are!
Now these were the real Dallas Cowboys and not the garbage i saw on Monday Night Football against the Titans on November 5th
Novack was a player lost of people dont know about. 1of the best that ever done it.

Novacek was one of my favorites.
Novacek retired after the 95 season and the Cowboys never made it back to the SB

Who are these people who don't know who Novack is.
The Cowboys were punt blocking machines in the Jimmy era.

As a Giants hater like myself, I love the Ray Handley era for the Giants and it was great memory for me
Back when the Boys had Talent and Heart... unlike the Hot mess we've had for 25 years under GM Jones.
Hard to win now when most of your offensive line and your QB is hurt. But making bad coach hires doesn't help either.
This was a GM Jerry Jones team !
This wasn’t a game, it was a war!
The Cowboys made the mistake of thinking this game was over at the half

Incredible game.
Great game!!!
Jimmy Johnson must have been livid after that collapse

14:20 This shadow was brought to you by MetLife
The opening drive was the beginning of the dynasty.

3:40-3:50 that has to be some of the loudest booing ever
🤣🤣🤣
At the 10:24 mark you can see the Giants offensive line clip the cowboys DE number 92. He's lucky he didn't get a tore up knee from that cheap shot.
13:24 😂
Almost the greatest comeback in nfl history!
The greatest comeback in NFL history, the 1993 Buffalo Bills overcome 32-point deficit to beat the Houston Oilers.
@@johnwjr7 this would have been greater. Giants were down 34-0 in the 3rd quarter.

This would have been fox versus CBS or ESPN versus CBS... Why it's because of Troy Aikman and Phil Simms.
The drive that mattered the most they did Jack all!
Last giants game I attended.
