Budget Friendly Dollar Store Travel & Cruise Essentials to Bring on Your Next Vacation for cheap 4k

Here are some essentials you may want for your next vacation, travel plans, and/ or cruise! I include some helpful tips when traveling with children as well!

We are a fun loving, adventure seeking family of 4 and love exploring in all different manners. Including cruising, hiking, camping, kayaking, mountain biking and so much more. When we travel we love to rent Airbnbs or Virbos to have a more home-feel to them. When we cruise we also love to make it our home away from home. In this video I share with you a few budget friendly items that we like to have ready and on hand when we travel.

Most all of the items I list in this video are also available on board the cruise ship but I bet they will cost you a whole lot more than if you just plan ahead and have them packed in your luggage!

We always make sure to have snacks when we travel. As a special treat I often buy things like sour patch kids, or other gummy snacks. We usually will also bring things like pretzels or a trail mix to tide us over while we are traveling. What are you favorite snacks to have when you travel?
I love buying small items from the dollar store as a little “prize’ or surprise when we travel to help keep them entertained and also have something new to play with. Buying them at the dollar store means not breaking the bank when I do! The dollar store I usually shop at always has a great selection of hot wheels cars and other compact toys to be sure they don’t take up too much room in your bags.
This is also a great spot to stock up on items like coloring or activity books, crayons, and markers when you are traveling with kids! They are affordable and sure to keep little ones entertained. These come in handy especially when you are at dinner or dining in the main dining area as meals can be stretched out and take quite a long time. Be sure to keep your kiddos entertained so that they are not disturbing fellow cruisers around you!
This is also a great place to grab puzzle books for adults as well. My local Dollar Tree stocks things like crossword puzzles, sudoku books, and word search books as well. The best part is that they are just $1.25, WAY less than what you would be paying if you bought one of these same books from the news stand at the airport!
The Dollar Store is also a great place to stock up on first aid items and over the counter medications. Here you can even get pill organizers and cosmetic bags to help keep them organized while you travel. They also stock things like toothbrushes, toothpaste, and toothbrush guards that are great to stock up on before you travel.
Some other great items to look for at your local Dollar Tree are things like charging cables, earbuds, Cord organizers, charge adapters and nightlights!
Also be sure to check out the seasonal section for anything magnetic! The walls and doors are made of metal so you can decorate your door or put magnetic hooks on your walls to help keep things organized.

A cheaper hack is to be the light on in the bathroom and close the door to a crack of light and that's better/cheaper than a nightlight.

Agreed but we dont like the brightness of the light in the bathroom. Some of the older ships only have the option for full light with no dimmer or night light option so it is super bright when you have to get up in the night to go to the bathroom.

Please check the dates on the snacks/meds/vitamins -- they may be outdated and that's why they are cheaper.
