      No lie his mask coming off was even better because when you see a character see their faces, you usually know they’re fucked. Like with the strangers. They take off their masks and let them see their face because they know they’re gonna kill them and the characters won’t be alive to tell who they are.

    • @KuscosPoison
      @KuscosPoison 2 роки тому +35

      @@r_i_ma Short answer is yes. The movies were possible with cations that I got into a habit so much even my hearing children STILL use when available. Long answer follows. I went deaf as an adult, so I was used to being able to hear. That also meant I was fully aware of what all I missed by NOT being able to hear. I live in tornado alley so it is not unusual to have sirens go off at least 2 times a month (if not during the same week) So for safety, I got those Cochlear Implants so I could hear sirens such as the tornado or even ambulances passing in the next lane on the road. I would literally have to ask the family if the siren was going when they sped by flashing lights. They are a great TOOL for me (not a cure, tool) And since I got them I have gone pretty much every waking moment possible bluetoothing the music, movies, audiobooks, ect into them that I missed hearing for those 20 years. This is much to hubby's chagrin, lol, as I cannot listen to him AND my Bluetooth due to volume :D. But when my implant's processors (behind the ear that looks like a hearing aid) is off the implant, No sound can reach the brain again. I did not take any offense to the question. Your wording of it was very nice in showing it was not for insult, but instead, you were curious. I love curiosity and am always glad to inform a person. Lack of hearing varies so the ones not in the hearing world vary in what is possible. The only way for humans to learn more is to ask respectfully ( like you did so well) and hope the person asked is in a mindset and timeframe able to give an answer. Thank you for being curious. Even when fully unable to hear, Vibrations are my friend, Music is possible, the LOUDER the better.

    This was writen by Kate Siegel. Also, Midnight Mass was an idea that Mike Flanagan had since Oculus (great movie from 2013), and when they needed a book for this they created the book (it's just a prop that also appears on Gerald's Game). And speaking of Midnight Mass, the guy that gets stabed in the neck is the mayor.

    Mike Flannigan took elements from similar Home Invasion films like Wait Until Dark and See No Evil.
    Made the Protagonist Deaf-Mute, instead of blind. Resulting in a very tense, well executed slasher.

    The Strangers wasn't based on a true story (despite what it says at the beginning). It was "inspired" by something that happened to the director when he was a kid.

    This movie was better than expected. Should have been released in theaters. Stephen King has good things to say about it.
    Reminds me of the classic thriller Wait Until Dark. Ever see that? Audrey Hepburn is a blind woman in New York City and through a chain of events in the prologue come into possession of a child’s doll stuffed with heroin. Three crooks want it and what begins as a hustle gradually evolves into a battle of wits and an intense showdown. Highly recommend it.

    I love this movie but the one thing that really disappointed me was the face reveal. I would have been way more scared not knowing what his face looked like. Instead of finding out that it was the guy from the Belko Experiment and 10 Cloverfield Lane lol
    He's one of those actors who normally plays nice characters so it made me think of him in his other roles and not this one which was a shame. It took me out of being terrified instantly. That mask is creepy as heck and I wish it got more use. It's one of my favorite horror movie masks I've seen.

  • @asteroidkiller8023

    How will going upstairs help? It's easier to defend yourself when there's one single entry and exit point as opposed to the 20 different doors and windows. Lots of survival, home invasion etc security (my current job, includes self defense training) experts have talked about it. Obviously having a gun for protection would make that easier but in the case of the intruder only having a blunt object or sharp object, the best method is to control your environment and surroundings in your favor to maximize survivability. You always want to do defense first, i.e not letting the intruder in by any means necessary. If your efforts are not gaining positive results then its time to move both offensively and defensively be prepared to defend first followed by attacking your opponent with lethal force of any means possible.
