Love the review! I have been a subscriber for little over a year now and I actually found you because I was looking for mod videos and Pirelli Scorpion videos to the XSR 700 (my dream bike, which I just signed a buyers contract to get next month), so I'm so glad that I found your channel now that you both have my dream bike and the exact tires I want for it! I love your cinematic filming, it's easy to see that you are a professional with a camera! Keep up the videos! More adventure and camping vlogs if possible!
I was shocked when you said the bike weighed 100-120kg!! I had to look it up, its actually 180kg approx. Love the video man, so much detail and sick shots!
You are absolutely right. I've said that wrong ( i was thinking about rear spring ) and i've realized it after i've made an upload. I will put it in the info under the video. Thanks for letting me know and for compliments. Cheers!
Planing it for my xsr700 already, it was interesting to watch anyway, ´cause I like the asthetics of your filming and the style of your bike. And of course your experience 😃
I was also surprised by how good they are on the road. Most of my riding has been in wet Scottish weather and I’ve had no problems either then whatsoever
This is the tires I've been planning to put on my 155, I've ridden them in another bike and it's just feels good and the sound man, damn. Though I didn't know the slippery tires was an issue too. That's also the reason why I'm planning on replacing my on the first place. Stock 155 tires are slippery.
It depends what kind of tires do you have on your bike and how you ride. If you ride on the road all the time something like Michelin Pilot 5 would be an excellent choice. But i ride offroad too so Scorpions are perfect for me on this bike.
@ayamotoadventures I ride like this. Beautiful places here in Southern Philippines always have a light off road to pass through and I think Shinko 805 is a little bit to much for these kind of roads so Scorpion really caught my eye.
Hi, great test, well done! I immediately felt moved to like this video and also to take out a subscription to your channel. Even the tire is not suitable for mud and snow, I'm impressed that you were riding on this conditions 😎👍 I'm excited to watch your next videos!
Great review! For better traction off-road like mudd, try to air down a little. Doung so will also wear your tyres quicker though. Ask me how I know haha.
Rode them on my WR250X supermoto in all seasons, on gravel, track, street and singletrack. As long as there is no deep mud off road (preferably in the dry) they perform admirably. For a low power low weight motorcycle I was able to squeeze 20 000 km out of them. Highly recommended.
Great review, really tempted, if Pirelli could give you some MT60 RS that would allow a back to back view, I take them on gravel etc and they do well but are awesome on dry and wet roads as they are a supermoto 60:40 tyres. Only downside is they wear out quickly, 5000-6000kms, and tread blocks not huge for the loose stuff, sending good vibes, JB 🏴
Thanks mate. I've hear from few people who have MT 60 that they are not too happy with them. I was planning to get them at first, but i am happy i went with Scorpions.
@@ayamotoadventureslove my MT60 RS’ but they do wear out quicker than some but the all round grip is immense, proper super moto tyre, Scorpions look like they have a lot longer wear
Excellent review, fantastic video - well done Mate! Just a quick one: I'm choosing between these and Continental Trail Attack 3 for my BMW R9T Scrambler. Scorpions looks way better for Scrambler type moto, and I mainly ride on the road. What would you recommend?
Excellent review mate! I am planning to get one for my XSR900. One thing you didn't mention, but I would like to know about, is whether the tires affect fuel capacity, or if it's about the same with the general road tires? Cheers mate 🍻
Hey, thank you so much, mate! Honestly, I did not even think about that because I did not notice any difference. Since they are 80% road tyres I don't think that it will have a big difference. My fuel average was similar to the Pirelli phantoms that I had before.
i have the 1290 sas 2023, and this tire, iam on 9k on the rear, and i still have about 2k more left. i power wheelie , tour long distances and offroad. i ride in sport mode. so your comment is not for everyone. what tire pressures did you have them on?
@@aleksandarbotic979 also might add I’m not running the tyre down, I haven’t put my set on yet and I’m just going off what other have told me 🫡 but if they last 4-5k miles I’d be thrilled
15000km seems like a lot for this type of tyre? is that a lot of km? im new to learning about tyres and i thought 80/20s like this wouldnt get 15000km, are you close to replacing them?
I am 179 cm tall. I think it will be too small for you and stock suspension is not adequate for that weight. But i've seen some tall people riding them with no problem. It would be best to try it before.
I have taller friends on xsr and for some it's quite uncomfortable. One of them upgraded to the r nineT. Best for you to test ride one before you buy. Stock suspension isn't great but has improved slightly on the newer model (from 2022)
It is so hard to find a bike for a tall person . I love xsr 700, cb650r sv650 . I guess I have to learn to live with smaller bike . R nine t is amazing too but too expensive for me . I live in Ireland and prices here are so high . Every bike is at least 20-30% more expensive than all other countries
@@ayamotoadventures lol yeah. I meant did you change up the sizing a bit? Or just stick with standard xsr tires sizes. They are all backorder right now 😭
I am on 17 000 at this point and if I didn't slash the tire I could get at least 1000 km. My friend changed them on 16 000. What do you do with them, mate?
@@nicof4991 It depends on lots of factors. Weight of the bike, your weight, tire size, terrain, temperature, and style of the riding. I ride 70-80km avg. and 70% on the road. Rest is all kinds of terrain and offroad. I've avoided riding on asphalt during hot summer days.
