Thanks AYA for sharing the tutorial. It did help me, since neither the service manual nor the service manual appendix provides exaustive instructions for the process of getting through all the cable mess towards the spark plugs. First of all, as @hoxmototrip stated, the wire hoses of my bike (XSR700) are also all covered by duck tape. Since adhesive is coming off due to high temperatures, each time I have a look at the bike, I have to remove threads of loose duck tape. My bike was made in France. Is it also your case? My brother has a Japan-manufactured Suzuki GSX-S750 and not only the wiring routing is tidier, but other manufacturing details seemed better crowned. Now, let me add some thoughts I noticed when experiencing the spark plugs replacement myself. 2:10 --> in my opinion, this is the most important tool. In my case, I used a 14 mm socket. It does not have to be a spark plug only tool, but make sure is a tall one (63 mm). 12:40 --> my old filter looked just like yours (only the bottom part was dirty). It seemed to be using only a part of the filtering material, so before fitting the new one, I made some 12 mm drills on the air intake hose (just at the filter height). Maybe in the next filter change I can share an update on results. 13:25 --> my advice is to replace both spark plugs from the top. However, I agree that the wire hoses have enough room to be fixed somewhere else to make the spark plug maintenance and replacement easier. Nevertheless, it can still be done without much difficulties. Furthermore, Yamaha recommends to clean or replace the spark plugs every 10000 km. As far as I could saw (I first check the spark plugs condition at 15000 km), it can be done later. I prefer when service intervals are defined in hours, instead of km, but my spark plugs where just like new. I used petrol and a soft wire brush and the result were good. The spark plug reference is Champion REK6YC. Next, I want to remark that I was shocked when I discovered how spark plugs are attached to the coil enclosure piece. Even though the coil pieces have a asymmetrical notch fasting, the spark plug only come with a naked M3 male thread, so it is forced into the coil piece hole. However, I have to say it works, although the thread old spark plugs was severely damaged after unplugging them. If anyone is curious, I could share some pictures I took. Finally, I wanted to point out that the switch seen at 9:30 is actually something one may not expect to be there: the air intake temperature sensor (according to service manual page 7-2).
