This is becoming so common anymore. Is it being planned this way? Upper management is increasing in turnover. Last few years in my area 1.5 years is a marathon!! Usually as a group. Corporate buy outs, etc. Then it’s like a domino effect
I had watched this post before, but I needed to hear this again. My job has no holidays or weekends but it’s an absolutely negative work environment that makes my work place aweful. I DO work with a covert narcissist and I did a double take when you mentioned that as one of the things in your experience, that may signal it’s time for an exit strategy.
I graduated 1994 and worked in New Zealand till 2017, moving to Australia as a travel nurse since then and can testify that the level of toxicity you've described and the red flags that you outlined are unfortunately rampant in both countries in the healthcare system. The beauty of being a travel nurse means you only have to endure a toxic environment for a short time only, i highly recommend becoming a travel nurse or only go casual if its possible. Too many of our colleagues have suffered terribly, leaving the industry burnt out and completely dejected. Big hugs to you all and thank you so much for your video!!!
I discovered that I had to go to work, and manage the people that I work with and get them in line. It's exhausting and it's a lot of work. and it's not a long-term fix and in the end it's even not worth it. Better just to realize that nursing is toxic. And don't do it.
Thank you! I 100% have been there w various job fields. Can you do a new video on the fields of nursing that have the most opportunity for travel nursing/are easiest to find a travel nurse assignment in whatever city? I'm also trying to do other volunteer work like Mercy Ships and Doctors wo Borders, can you do a video on international/3rd world nurse volunteering, like the fields of nursing that they tend to be looking for? Love you're channel, it's helped me so much thank you!!!
I just quit. I changed three Nurse Managers in three years, and, two ED's in three years. There was also a bully who, unfortunately, primarily targeted me. I'm so burnt out and discouraged that, after 20 years, I'm considering leaving the industry altogether.
Working with a bunch of women really isn't for the weak. You will deal with all kinds of unnecessary drama, cattiness and gossip.
Yep. Listen how they brag about their kids, husband and beyond.
I’m a women and agree.
yes, its the worst and the crazy part some male healthcare worst date women on their same unit.
I just quit and move on.
Sad but this is the harsh reality of the situation. Trying to change a toxic environment from a staff RN perspective is futile.
The place I just left has had 7 executive directors in less than two years. 😳
Sequim Health and Rehab in Washington State has had 5 DNS in 7. Months. TOXIC.

Yesssss
And you know it when the work environment is different and typically better when that person or persons are not there!

Nursing it’s evil an toxic. I would never recommend this job to anyone. I’ve only been a RN for 5 years and this is my last year
What's the plan now...
Thank you so much. This is very helpful and applicable. :)
All the environments are the same
