- Apple announced a multi-billion dollar loss in projected revenue and their stock plunged. Some analysts think iPhone demand has slowed, especially for the iPhone XR and iPhone XS. Apple's CEO Tim Cook blamed slowing sales in China and the battery replacement program. Apple also announced that they would no longer report the iPhone sales numbers. What's going on with Apple's iPhone?

2 . Liquid Retina on the XR is ducking 720pixel resolution. All smartphones these days have 1080p and up yet they charge from $700-1000 for it lol.
3. Bought my iPhone 7plus used for $350 I ain’t selling it anytime soon and it works perfectly fine

iPhone Xr are not exactly 720p. It’s 828p, which is higher, but a bit lower than 1080p. Colour has been the most accurate than any android displays. The biggest selling point for me is within its performance, the A12 is a beast, outperforming every smartphones in the market.
@@y00ts you can't watch 1080p videos on it. It's a 828p screen but youtube vids will play at 720p. If you wanna watch full hd content, it will be 720p. So no, it's not better than 1080p. Like i said, a 720p vid isn't better than 1080p just like 1080p isn't better than 4k.

Not really, I think the iPhone has finally sucumbed to the economic principle of elasticity, there's a point where the price influences the costumer's decision of buying or not the product, they pushed too far when phones started going into the $ 1.000 range. And in response to Vexyvin, nope, not at all pal, you might not like iPhones, but when android phones need 3x or 4x the ammount of cores, 3x or 4x the ammount of ram and 3x the battery size to perform worse than an iPhone on standarized benchmarks, you can't say at all that android makes the best out of the hardware, in fact, it's crap, it's memory management is crap and it's too bloated for it's own good.
They need to lower the prices for the next iPhone coming 2019, only solution. The sales are plummeting because of unnecessary high prices.

Yes, Apple is a premium brand. But suddenly charging $1000 instead of $500-$600, without any groundbreaking feature, shows greed. Their phones now are playing catch up in terms of features with their Android counterparts, yet they cost the highest. Also, the lack of focus towards the Mac line. Destroying the image of reliable, "it just works" computer that has so long been related to the Mac, while increasing the price significantly without any valid reasons is really a bad move. Especially during the time when Windows 10 have been bugged with several stability issues, and it seems not smart to not capitalize on this. Mac's market share is small, and they should've use this Window to gain market share with reliable and updated Mac computers. And then there is the malpractice of restricting or blocking third party repairs, and overcharge their customers for repairs. The CEO need to be changed. He doesn't think far enough for the company.

Yeah people are also coming to their senses with Android phones too. Samsung has had little to no innovation the past few years and most other phones are just copying Apple's. Phone sales worldwide are just slowing down; but unfortunately it's Apple that's getting all of the attention about it.

Yeah its bc they have to put a new screen on. If a screen is really messed up it will get worse when they open the phone and then impossible to out back in place (we did phone repairs at my last job)

I think people are starting to get tired of Apple being behind compared to other phones and they are by far the most expensive. This is the first year I got something else.

I'm using iphone 7 because want to try an iphone because my gf loves them then. coming from galaxy nexus, note 2 and lg g3, i think my iphone 7 is a great phone too. Apple's revenue is still bigger than the entire Russia's economy. Even if it's eventually going to fade out, it's nowhere near now. Warren Buffet recently bought more Apple. He's always in for the long haul, like decades long. What you all don't understand is, negative growth is still growth, not stale, not even loss, just not growing as much as it had been. Let's say your company made 20% more than it did last year, but last year, your company made 25% more than it did the year before, that's "negative" growth. If you don't look at year over year, quarter over quarter, and just chunk out 5-year slot of ANY 5 year term, Apple's earnings growth is still insane.
They haven't provided any unique innovation since the original iphone.
What about the new Iphone X it brought us notches.

Their “Apple tax” is killing their company. People just can’t justify shelling out $1000 dollars for a phone with feature mid-range phones are capable of. The mass market is not impressed with new processors, only the fans who you already have as a dedicated customer. Expansion is what drives success so price gouging potential customers would do exactly what’s happening to them now. Sort it out Apple or the market will rebel.
Is "Mercedes tax" killing Mercedes? Is Prada's nylon bags with "Prada tax" selling more than China's leather bags killing Prada? Specs isn't everything. There's still customer services, apps' ecosystem, etc. The entire user experience counts.
林子倫 even Mercedes have low cost options. A class/C class and even their super cars like the AMG starts at about £80,000 and they make sure they give you the SPECS that DESTROY other cars in that price range. More horsepower and more torques with their AMAZING customer service.
Fashion has NEVER been about practicality when it comes to high end designers, there’s LITERALLY a sector in the fashion industry called ‘name brands’ so for you to use Prada as an example, you agree that they are just selling us a name brand not a good product.
This IS and WILL be the decline of apple. Phones are a tool as well as a product. Even Samsung are creating an M series to capitalise on the low end/mid range consumer market.

Merceds have models to compete with Chinese-brand cars or Kia or Hyundai? Apple made 5C, did it not? Apple expected 5C to be 80% of their units sold. What happened? No one wanted them. What if Mercedes made a B-class as cheap as Toyotas and no one wanted them? Stop making them. And push higher end ones that people keep buying.
Specs doesn't matter. My girlfriend is Android user. She uses the latest Huawei, and complains about her phone being clunky all the time. I spent time on those things trying to help her get smoother experience out of her phones. I had 5s till last year that ran smooth since I had it. I would still be using it if I hadn't drowned it. Hardware optimized for software and software optimized for hardware offers far better performance than "specs". No different than "megapixel count" is meaningless for digital cameras, and American muscle cars with insane "specs" doesn't necessarily offer better driving experience. Plus, Apple's 7nm new chip is unbeatable by any on the market. Ask any chip maker.

That goes to mostly everyone in 2018, the Note 9 was just a Note 8+, Google released the same phone but now with a notch. I mean, Apple didn't even cared to release a new SoC but that doesn't change the fact that 2018 was lacking of innovation all across the board. Oppo and their sons were the only brand pushing something interesting.

My iPhone been bullying me over paying for extra storage because my icloud is full and won’t give up so I’m sick of it! Not getting another iPhone when I buy a new phone! Plus it really isn’t that great and the iPhones start to get insanely expensive as they start adding on the options. It’s just not value anymore you can get a better phone for a lot less that runs a less restrictive operating system and just back your stuff up in google drive super easily and not have to worry. Where as you can still do that on an iPhone but it’s iOS decides to still tell you that you need to buy more storage. And there are other phones that literally give you unlimited storage. The phones have never really even been able to compete with Samsung’s either which are amazing phones and have much more than iPhones do. Usually the Samsung’s come out with something good and then apple out nowhere comes out with the exact thing in their device way later and it’s not nearly as good.

Apple should make real innovation for their products. Like the iPad, they should do that to the MacBook too. And don't call a 750$ phone a budget phone because it isn't. Here, where I live the actual money you earn is 500-550$/month. Make a design change. Also very important that those who have an iPhone, should want the next one. Because those who don't own one, are not really that stupid to buy one, but the owners are. make apps, airdrop stunning, then if somebody own an Apple product don't want to even touch anything from another brand.

How about reducing the price?
Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like they come out with phones too often, and they're too expensive. I mean I have a $100 Straight Talk phone from Walmart. And it works great. So I have zero interest in paying $1,000 to upgrade to an iPhone.
My 2 year old Android phone vs latest iPhone:
More RAM, more memory, debatably better CPU (though not as a fast in practice), 2 days (actual) battery life, 25% of the price of the latest iPhone (i'm not even gonna bring up the software debate)
The only thing that iPhones have over *some* of the competition (including my phone) is the great camera and pictures that can be taken.
But, like, i can buy a GoPro and still have saved 400$ on my double purchase instead of the iPhone...
Not to start a debate but a 2 year old android phone lasting 2 days you must not use it all day.
And there's Androids that are similar or even better camera-wise like the Pixel 3.

S9 = 720,- / XS Max = $1000.
That is more than 25% more expensive already (same internal storage)
And The Note is indeed more expensive than S9+ but still less than the 512gb XS Max by a couple of hundred.
And you can expand the storage to 1TB with sd-slot wich iphone doesnt even have.
Plus you get a fastcharger included wich Apple sells for 70,- seperately.
Still quiet the difference if you ask me!
It's these silly things like not including a decent charger with a 1000+ dollar phone, or their terrible customer support / repair service.

I bought a MacBook in late September 2018 and it died fourteen months later, in November 2019, when downloading an OS software update. My local Apple Store said that a $ 700 repair was required. I went to the Miami Dadeland Apple Store, where I bought the MacBook to complain about its short life span, and they told me to f-k off as it was over one year old. Poor workmanship and high prices gets Apple $ 245 billion cash in its balance sheet. My previous Apple computers lasted three to four years. I guess I won’t buy any more Apple computers and a lot of friends say the same thing. Apple can’t fool its customers forever. Apple is a greedy, low quality computer company with an unjustified high share price which will decline sharply sooner rather than later.

I switched from Samsung to apple and never looked back. Although there are lots of features I like in Samsung/android I got tired of waiting for updates and when they came through it slowed my phone.
Apple IOs 12 still running on iPhone 5 (5.5 yrs old). Unlike Samsung not even pushing One UI to their S7 phones which is just 2.5 yrs old and capable of running it.
Your also forgetting about the plethora of apple quality issues. iPhones and MacBooks (hardware) and its software are riddled with problems and being sued because of it. Apple is no longer a luxury brand, but a mediocre brand that produces lackluster products with little to no innovation charging premium prices.
Agreed. Enjoy paying $500 to repair a device that can be bought new at $300. Apple demands their customers literally trash their devices and be forced to buy new ones. They will do whatever they can to ensure that to be the case. But, as a consumer, you can just not buy any of their junk and be free.

Hope they fail. The price of the phones is outrageous! My camera broke just weeks after the 1 year warranty ended. They wanted to charge me $350 for a camera fix. I’m not buying another iPhone. The innovation has STOPPED. I’m getting a Motorola!
