I'll be turning 29 this year. My 30th year here is quickly approaching and I'm surprisingly relieved for it. Looking back at 20 year old me is so similar to the way you described it yourself. The immeasurable change that comes after a good bit of prefrontal cortex development is so real (of course) lol. I remembered hearing about it most of my life, but couldn't possibly imagine what it felt like to think with a more developed brain. Obviously, I had nothing to compare it to. But it feels both unnoticeably subtle and astronomically different at the same time.
I've been through a handful of what I assume to be ego deaths, some far more difficult than others. There are certain things about me that are exactly the same, but the way my mind worked before can tend to feel so foreign to me now. I remember thinking in the moment, while being 20, 21, that I would one day be looking back at myself in the past, unable to even recognize the very person I was in that moment. And it would scare me a bit. I was important to me, I didn't want "Me" to just vanish, or merely become a memory of a lesser version of myself. But I still knew that it was a necessary and positive part of life. That this "Me" wasn't going anywhere, it was simply to become a piece of the best version of myself. I just had absolutely no clue what that was.
The reality of eminent change and knowing that I was by no means the best version of myself to be making decisions about people to trust, where to go next, what career path to take felt very daunting. I felt ill-equipped without optimal decision making skills or the best emotional maturity experience can buy. But, I of course did it all anyway, paired with false confidence and a thirst to fly the nest. I certainly crashed and burned a few times.
There are so many things I wish I could tell my younger self. But at the same time, I wouldn't have been able to truly hear any of it anyway. I'm happy with the rocky road that lead me to this perspective and attitude I have now. All I care about it doing good, contributing kindness in ways big and small, experiencing all of the little beautiful things this life has to offer.. Pursuing practical, enriching life goals. Caring for my sweet little boy. Loving and being loved. That's it. :)

Oh my goodness Sophia I had just gotten home from work and felt pretty stressed. In my head I literally thought of the word metamorphosis, and then two seconds later I saw your video 🤍 watching this uplifted me and it truly made me feel safe and like I had that woman friend that I've been longing for. I appreciate you so very much and I'm so grateful for your being on this planet at the same time as me. You inspire me to walk with so much love and understanding. And I actually felt inspired to flow, and dance while watching this video, which I usually hold myself from for 'not knowing how's. Thank you for this beautiful and wonderful space of love, and gratitude.

I think we forget the immense pain, mistrust and hidden resentment we have inherited throughout the times in our DNA from the horrific things that women did to each other (not just done to us as a whole) and it absolutely resonates and rings true, that we all have this deep longing to heal the deep wounds we have caused each other and the healing happens in that exact space with other women and sitting in that discomfort and confronting it all and recalibrating and reconditioning that from within and healing generations before us as well as those to come. 💕

I really admire your journey. I also relate to your relationship with other women.. I’m still growing through that resentment. It’s hard to find trust with other females. There’s always some sense of competition… I’ve been working really hard to heal this. In time I’m confident that I will find healthy connections with other women. Thankyou for mentioning this. I’m sure many of us fellow women feel this way. We are constantly pitted against one another in society. So much pressure to be perfect.. it all starts with our sense of self.

Hi Sophia, I think we touched a bit on this when you visited, about sisterhood. I actually got quite emotional thinking about it, it is something I feel is lacking in my life, I can't really explain it why or how or what. It's not a particularly obvious or tangible thing. It's so interesting seeing women together (as the difference when its men and women), I have noticed this since I have changed gyms, as the sauna is in the women's changing room as opposed to having a public space. I have noticed that the energy and vibe is just completely different with women, we sit in silence, or we have a little chat about something, but there is no pressure or competition, or who can be the loudest in the room. However, I have experienced recently where I feel some girls just aren't "girls-girls", you know what I mean. And yes that's on them but I think it's a real shame because us girlies should be sticking together. Also, working in a very male dominated industry is HARD. But I will hopefully come out of it having learned a lot about my self and stronger. More assertive and confident as a woman. Women have to adapt so much, we are ever-changing, we constantly have to mould to whats around us, and we just get on with it and there's a lot to be said for that. Hope you are well, Sophie and Petrice. Love X

love your content!! and the part about how humor is so crucial and it's when we are starting to heal we usually find our way back to it. I was wondering, do you think that you could dive deeper into and share your experience with us when it comes to healing and building stronger, healthy relationships? I would love to hear more about your perspective on this, like how has the healing journey of yours affected your relationship with your partner and friends?
    A lot of hugs!!
