  • I take you on a tour of Friday Harbor and San Juan Island in the Puget Sound in the Seattle Region. This sleepy little retirement and tourism community is a challenge to reach, as you can only get here by ferry. However, once you made the trek from the mainland, there are all sorts of enjoyable delights to discover. The alpaca farm was especially entertaining to tour. The island is wind-swept, so the lighthouses are especially interesting to visit as well.
I hope you enjoy my short tour of Friday Harbor and San Juan Island in the Puget Sound region.

We went there for our middle school trip, an entire 6th grade middle school class occupied that island for a weekend! Beautiful area!

You forgot to mention that the WSDOT ferries are, constantly, being Canceled, Breaking Down or Being Canceled with Very Long Wait Times !!!

The San Juan Islands are not in Puget Sound. They lie between the Straits of Juan de Fuca and Georgia.

A piece of deep South in the very North. People are friendly, and strangers greet one another.

It's Really Interesting how Small the place is and how small yet Large and populated the world is. Thanks for the video Al :)

Guided boats are the "best" choice - they're out there daily.

The San Juan Islands are in the Salish Sea, not Puget Sound.

Anacortes is pronounced “AN-nah-COR-tiss,” not “AN-nah-cor-TEZ.” It’s not Spanish.

Thanks for the correction! I've heard both from residents & shop owners there so I took my best guess.
