Omg how sad.

He's aiming a little high...
Buildings not being properly maintained? Electric melting? Arson?
It was a Scumbag Low life, Arsonist
I never get to drink beer and bullshit with folks at herbs again 🥺
uh . . . . you guys need to clean up your headlines. Fire did NOT destroy "historic downtown Friday Harbor". It destroyed four buildings on one corner. Hyperbole much?
20 year anniversary fire sounds suspicious to me.
A real estate office burns down...
A building so old ...nothing could updated, rotted wood from the 1800's. Hmmm?
Could just be old wires, one little arc can ignite the tar saturated fabric casings on some old wires or some other super flammable material next to the arc.
Definitely not insurance fraud 🤥
@@derekhieb7458 Always a wacko trump voter saying something like that. lol
Urban renewal. Always start early am.
I'm just seeing this for the first time, absolutely devastating news! SO SAD!😢The Fox 13 coverage is COLD-HEARTED, using descriptive terms such as "the WEE hours of the morning", and "mopping up", to name a couple. How insensitive. Are these newscasters actual people?🤷🏼♀️😒
It was Arson, My family lost there job...
Crow’s Nest Coffee shop ‘ Goodbye 👋…………… great cup of Mud ☕
And in a year it has a condominium site that pops up
I live here someone lighted it on purpose 💔😭
Very sad to see. Heading there in June 😬
Making room for more unaffordable homes. Nothing to see here, move along.
So many fires. We gonna have a new underground Seattle 2 layers. (I know this isn't in settle but Seattle has had so many fires.)
makes me sad, missing Herbs, can't bring it back for new memories, will never be the same. irreplaceable
That’s sad. I remember when the Horse shoe pier burned in Redondo Beach California. Good memories are.never lost.
Arson
The Californians wanted to develop the land, it seems suspicious that there's been 2 fires in the last 20 out of 200 years
My first thought
Looks like Friday Harbor Fire was hitting it hard from the yard……..
Oh well. They act like they're too special to have misfortune affect their lives. It's just stuff. Be glad people didn't die.
In this modern day and age, the walls of the stores would have sheet rock ..that acts like a fire wall.
1800's, this is such bullshit!! But oh yeah the great reset so awesome. Whew hew. SAY GOODBYE!! Say goodbye to everything American. ☠ There are way too many fires, its very suspisious!!!
Oh nooooo 🥺🥺😫😫
Hmmmm Fire on Fantasy island maybe some bad Karma up there in paradise?
POV you know the girl from the start of the video and you live there
Just say no to meth labs
I was there when the last fire happened, one block over. Terrible to see this. It has to be said though, it did not "destroy downtown friday harbor." this is less than a block.
Well it's still heartbreaking, it is good to know that it wasn't as widespread as the video made it out to be. I'm actually planning on taking a trip out there this summer (we're 4 hrs away)and I might be able to see the changes. Really sad for the history and close knit community
The headline is typical of current clickbate news reporting.
Shame on them...
Headline implies the entire downtown was destroyed. Is that the case, or was it only a few of the buildings/businesses?
Well this is what you get with houseless people roaming the streets with free needles. Change needs to come from the top down. Wa government is a mess. Where is the law and order?!
News like this is always heart breaking! 💔
It's so sad to see this country lose historic places.
Blms in town 🔥
Very sad but maybe they will rebuild something better.
I'm so glad they saved the Herb's Tavern sign!
My Dad's name is Herb ;-) Hopefully, they can renovate,
and add new construction+
Oh, they'll rebuild alright. BUILD BACK BETTER. People will by then have accepted their fate - injected yourselves with the mysterious mRNA and more than likely uploaded yourselves to the cloud. Godspeed 🙏
@@cottagefarm9799 > Are you personally, referring to Me, Light Fawn, when you type: "People will by then have accepted your fate" ? If so, what is My fate in your thoughts, Cottage Farm? Since you responded to Me, in this way. I Am trying to be Positive, and I'm stating that I Hope, and Pray for the Best for the Resident's of these Building's, Home's, Businesses, etc. What makes you think that I "injected" My self? @@SunLightFawn No sorry, I meant "their" fate. I was referring to your comment on rebuild. There is a worldwide moto, Build Back Better. WEF, Klaus Schuab. Smart cities, etc.
I saw same thing happen to Bothell when the people wanted to protect the historic downtown
What happened in Bothell? I live near there..
@@kathyg.5742 Californian wanted to tear down a large section of the historic downtown to upzone. The populace wanted to preserve the historic building for tourism. It looked like they were going to get preservation then the buildings "accidently" burned down
JEEZUZ KEEYRIST!
Anytime a tavern burns down it's devastating to the local community. The ripple effect, now means that some husbands will be forced to spend more time with their nagging wives. Thus leading to a rise in domestic violence
😢😭💔
Maybe they should have taken better care of their old buildings with outdated electrical wires, huh? All that money they take in, you'd think they'd invest in their infrastructure just like our wonderful country does....oh, ...wait a minute.....
My heart goes out to the people of Friday harbor. It's such a great and beautiful town. Build it stronger and better I guess.
How did it start?
Most likely electrical .
@@debbY100 lol 😆
buildings should have been bulldozed years ago .
Wat about my indian history
What about it
You voted for it. Yay Blm.
The ATF investigates fires?? That seems like something that isn't really in their wheelhouse.
"The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is the Federal agency primarily responsible for administering and enforcing the criminal and regulatory provisions of the Federal laws pertaining to destructive devices (bombs), explosives, and arson."
If I had to venture, I'd say the ATF has arson investigators which could determine if this was arson or other causes.
@@user-gq2vn1xj2r Thanks! I wasn't aware they added the "E". I guess ATFE just doesn't have the same ring to it. FATE, FEAT, EFAT would all be cool, but we all know how the gov't loves. TLA's (Three Letter Acronyms). Aloha!
@@evankolpack The Secret Service investigates counterfeit currency. The Army Corps of Engineers is responsible for civil flood and storm damage control. Sometimes a name cant capture the entire mission.

Nice corner lot, something new by summer
Something new built by summer for sure
I’m right there wow I can’t believe I’m on the news
Shocking 😭
Whelp, time to ruin it by putting up some shitty modernist architecture for a tourist trap. No possible way anybody wants to actually try rebuilding that. Because, like these new apartments in Coeur d'Alene, nothing says "authentic architecture" like looking up at the top of a red/brown brick facade that's been there for 100+ years and seeing it topped by some corrugated steel box that's painted either a dark blue or slate gray with unshuttered modern windows and no balconies even. Because I too want to live in the architectural equivalent of a shipping container on the roof of a building.
A new structure that's somewhat comparable to the existing buildings is better than an empty, vacant lot(s). A business building that adds to tourist appeal and rare, local jobs is more important then just pure, outdated aesthetics. Time is change- not everything can remain like Leavenworth. Besides, it's really the trip via ferry through the San Juans to Friday Harbor, as a last stop, that's the draw. The island's downtown is cute and quaint, but it ain't all that great.
Yes realestate investors always build Faceless slap up no character structures
Insurance scam probably 😢
Rude this is traumatizing for locals and tourists from all the world who have fond memories your not very kind sir
@@jasonbarron6164 I don't think Seattle has had a lot of tourists lately...
@@464588 this may or may not be true i however believe the people of the pacific northwest have a gem of a soul and lots of money throw around especially during pandemic no i say the people of friday harbor particularly care much more for the history money literally grows on trees out here 😀
Omg so sad 😞 ashes to ashes dust to dust mother earth the great recycler build back better
My money's on this being homeless-related.
Fundraiser, weres there insurance, for being historical wouldn't chamber of commerce insured you important building, guess not. See how a simple there's no such thing as a free lunch poster board lesson In highschool works. Tourism needs to be backed with insurance. That's how a normal business goes, but do to budget cuts guess we skipped that step. Liberty 🗽 liberty. Hello state farm.
Well the "Seattle Houseless Community" has to keep warm these cold mornings too. Plenty of kindling around to start a warming fire.
Seattle continues swirling down the shitter 🤣🤣🤣
Welp thats NOT SEATTLE...NOT EVEN CLOSE BUDDY

What's the A.T.F. got to do with this? The only good thing about them is if I heard they were abolished. I for one am tired of paying for a USELESS organization.
Arson investigation has always been in their charter. Even if this proves not to be arson, they have the expertise needed to come to that conclusion.
@@user-gq2vn1xj2r Glad you trust a lying organization.
@@junglejim5785 Well, I'm glad someone trusted them, as the dirtbag arsonist has been found, arrested, is being held on $500,000 bail, and will be officially charged soon.
@@user-gq2vn1xj2r As they should. But for some reason I don't know why. But One criminal group going after other criminals does not sit well with me. If it was caused by a electrical fire, would it still be “dems” fault?
@@AliMohamed-tr1ii Oh come on, you know what I mean. Its just extremely suspicious that there have been so many fires, that crime is rampant and that its being allowed. These people believe they have to DESTROY - people, property, etc to Rebuild. Build Back Better. This isn't just America, its worldwide. Its not what the people want, its what the World Order is deliberately causing to bring about their freak automated AI "utopia".
What are you talking about? Explain how politics enters into this event. What a lame response.
Step away from the crack pipe.
@@ShawwwHa Let them eat "cake" 🤣🤣
Why I think thats because of homeless?
BLM ?
What on earth does this mean? Stupid comment.
It's hard to have sympathy for people who 100 years ago burned, destroyed, and pillaged the Suquamish village that had been there for thousands of years. This is a colonialist refugee village. I see an irony, not a tragedy.
That's because you're ghoulish and sick.
Um, those people you don't feel sorry for WELL THEY ARE LONG GONE. There's new people that live there and they really loved the nostalgia of the 1800's building. They would've really loved and appreciated the Suquamish village too had the people from 100 YEARS AGO not burned it down. Wars happen, BUT HERE WE ARE, move the F forward!! .
Lmfao. Yet here you are, living in the United States. You realize if none of that happened you literally wouldn’t have been able to make that comment right? Imagine matter of fact, why don’t you just trace your family history as far back as you can and move back to where your people came from? And then you can donate all of your land and possessions to the native Americans because at this point, all you are doing is talking. How about take action to change the things you don’t like. Because I’m not responsible for anyone before me, I’m only responsible for my actions here and now.
You can lead by example. Why don't you give your home and assets back to those who were here first. Be the change you advocate!
@@cottagefarm9799 no, they're still there. They have names like Rolf & Helga. And having love for people a generation ago you hated and were trying to exterminate simply adds insult to injury. Why doesn't everybody just go back to Europe, honor the treaties, and leave the indigenous people to their land?
