Also, there's Layered Armor in Iceborne so you can still have the drip even tho you're wearing mixed armors for the armor skills. There's also a rocket powered greatsword layered weapon.
Tips from a swag axe main! Use the sword mode to generate charge (the outline around your weapon on the top left). You can’t use sword mode unless there’s meter (small green meter inside the weapon, again indicated on top left). Once the sword is fully charged, you can do an explosive mount with B + Y input at same time (while in sword mode) then spam Y to generate a larger explosion.
It'd be easier for him to just take a rocksteady/temporal mantle and spam ZSD while clawing the monster's head. Don't forget that you can also buff the axe a bit by doing that overhead spin move.
@@tastytacos8514 But then again you might be right as even F tier is still pretty much heavy hitting considering it's in the hands of an experience player.
Just watched your iceborne video on your main channel and I'm really enjoying it so far. I mean I adore Monster Hunter despite only getting into it three years ago. I just personally really enjoy watching new players play and fight new stuff to them and seeing how they react and learn and adapt! Good content 😁👍🏻
Hiya folks, long time hunting horn main here. You can queue three songs at a time and play then encore them all at once. If you press RT toward the end of the performance, it’ll encore. (Buff your party up allll the way) RT has the most stun, LT after any note is the most damage.
It’s nice to see you actually have fun after the hell Shrieking Legiana was. I’d like to recommend Gunlance for next time you want to try something new, the weapon can be a bit complex, so learning it can be a bit complicated, but if you do like it odds are you’ll love it because of the crazy amount of style it has.
Hunting Horn is all about dancing with the monster. Do not worry about doing your strongest hits, focus on building your song list. In a regular situation, you and the monster take turns swinging at each other. Don’t get out of line and go for two notes until you’re sure you have the time. Instead, try to build 1 song in between 3 or 4 of your opponent’s attacks. Once you’ve got a song or songs ready, find the opening to play it. If it’s a long opening, you can Encore to play the same song(s) again to get a stronger effect and do your best damage. Building up songs and playing them, and doing the forward + Encore or the spinny doot (for elemental/status horns) are your best DPS. The individual note swings are so close in power that it doesn’t matter, focus on building and playing songs in the monster’s ears.
And when you go to rise, Hunting Horn is an actual Beast that can do incredible damage on it‘s own AND plays songs almost automaticly between your attacks
Hey Zanny, as a Swaxe main, there are three tips about the weapon I want you to know, pressing O two times will do heavensward flurry, the second part of that second attack will greatly increase your amp gage And if you clutch claw while amp’d if you do a zsd(the thrust attack) it will cost ZERO sharpness And if you have one level of earplugs while amp’d you can ZSD a monster while it roars
Having speed eating with the sharing and free meal perks are significantly better as a support character than HH. Watching teammates take a heavy hit only to counter it with a great potion is hilarious. Had a hunt where I was awarded with consuming 150+ items for my team.
My favourite content from Zanny is MH I just started playing last year and I was happy to see Zanny played this too, it's so hilarious even more when I can relate to his game experience.
I feel like it could be argued that Charge Blade is the most complex weapon to learn but it’s pretty flexible and intuitive once you understand the core mechanic of charging your phials. IMO as a weapon it gives you the most flexibility between playing quick and mobile, tank and spank, or speed run SAED’s the whole time. Other weapons are flexible but CB is probably in the top 3 for both heavy hitting, quick and agile, and best defense.
I'd argue that switch axe gives you best combat options out of all weapons cause you can easily dunk on anything that walks and if the monster starts being annoying or flies a lot you can just use rocksteady or temporal and spam ZSD. With decorations to prolong the charge that shit is active for like a minute and a half or something, you can easily spam the living hell out of your target. It also does a crap lot of damage.
@@SkinnyBlackout Can’t disagree but I’d opt for CB just for being able to block 😂 I do like SA and it does balance heavy damage with combat maneuvering really well, but points are lost for not having a shield lol SA is definitely up there for “most flexible” weapons, along with SnS. Switch axe is complicated.. It has many moves but no reversal attack, two stands and two meters. The special move can easily kill you if it's poorly timed. If you use it correctly it's a damage monster 👍
definitely easier than cb, you just hit stuff with the sword and swap to axe when phials are low instead of learning gps, so many combos, three charge state/types, etc.
@@poggestfrog I don't know solo hunts can be tricky with the switch axe. You just need to know how to charge up the diffrent things but the game plan is easy + you can block. It's low risk to get insane damage. But whatever
When the outer bar for the switch axe is full, which fills by landing hits in sword mode, you can then do both attack buttons at once to impale the monster, then spam the main attack button to build up an explosion. It's fucking awesome.
Hunting horn with the Meowster jewel makes you Pokémon trainer essentially lol. Buff your cat to max and make it an attack type. Easily the funniest solo build I’ve seen made
@@Tommytwometres What makes World's Horn so great is how fun it is to manage your songs by saving them and setting up recitals and encores creatively whilst slipping in and out of the monster's radius using the massive speed boost that Self Improvement gives (nerfed in Rise). World's horn requires you to use creativity and patience to get meaningful results which I admit is challenging and can sometimes get exhausting. Rise's horn is style over substance. The solution to nearly every problem is either i-frame recital or evade extender. It gets really tedious because I don't have to do any thinking for how I'll actually play songs or interesting ways to weave in and out of a monster's range. In Rise's defense though there is a very fun gameplay loop in trying to figure out how to first land infernal melody and then land an earthshaker on the head during the buff which is difficult. I understand that picking up and learning weapons like World HH where it always feels like you're fighting an uphill battle (atleast until you start getting really good) isn't for everyone but sometimes that's what ends up feeling the best.
If I'm remembering right: B B B B Y (boost amped state charge speed, think you need 4 in this game) RT B B Y (should be enough to get amped state) LT+B Y+B (ZSD) RT (reload) LT + B Y+B RT...(repeat until amped state runs out). The nuance comes in cancelling ZSD early or not, but I'm not sure what nuance there is to meta use beyond that, maybe throw in the odd retreating axe attack if you want to be fancy while dodging? I don't know which attacks combo to slinger burst either, I played world axe years ago, not touched it on my new playthrough, but I'd think those'd be fairly niche application too? Swaxe doesn't have huge repositioning or commitment issues anyways aside from Sword B 2 once you're in it, but you can just not go into it, use retreating RT to get away after Sword B 1 and you can turn after that fine, I think. But even that you could just dodge from Sword B 1 instead, roll away a bit, sheathe and reposition. It has plenty of tools is what I'm saying, but you only need to know the path to ZSD spam to get good enough results out of it.
If you require more tips 1. look at the tips during the loading screen, sometimes it has some good tips. 2. The monsters adapt to flash pods if you use them a lot in a small time frame, so use them at different times for better effect.
Your honour me and the other 7 hunting horn mains aren’t corner hornets I swear it’s just Zanny. Well done tho, good start on learning both of my favourite weapons (:
He'll be disappointed. World actually feels like a living ecosystem, Rise has zero immersion factor. They had to sacrifice a lot to make the game run on weak hardware.
You wanna learn a Charge Blade guide for us simpletons? Here we go. *Two modes, sword and axe. Sword charges phials, axe uses them. *Attack in sword mode until phials are red. I like to hold B until there's a flash, then use direction+B to slide around. Great for repositioning. When phials are red, RT+B to store them. *While in sword mode, do Y+B, Y+B, Y+B and then when you pull back to open the shield for the slam use RT to spin around and channel the phials into your shield. Now your shield blocks gooder and your axe hits harder as long as it's red. *Attack in sword mode more until phials are red again, and store them. This time, start holding Y during the animation and when the sword locks into the shield release it. You'll do a smash and now your sword is charged to do extra damage and never bounce. It doesn't last all that long, but the smash is one of the strongest sword moves you have. *Use RT+Y to go into axe mode. Y attacks are high, B attack expend a phial when swung. I don't recommend using either yet, though, unless the monster is a speedy boi and you need to make sure every hit lands. *Here you have two options. Use Y+B to go your Grand Slam and expend all of your phials in a line in front of where the axe lands, or my preferred Iceborne-exclusive option, use Y+B to start that Grand Slam animation then use LT to do a backswing and enter Savage Axe mode where your axehead spins and you do extra damage while your phials slowly drain, then use your standard Y,B,Y,B axe combo on the monster. That's really all you need to know. There's some extra shit in there like guard points or whatever, but I don't care about those and neither should you. I'm not a HH main but I have fun every time I play it. "Support weapon" yeah watch me support this monster into its grave.

if you decide bowgun/light bowgun they even have separate upgrade menu for special gun parts that drasticali change the play style (in a good way) . for example more ammo in the clip or for heavy bow gun they get schield you can use to block when not shooting , light bow guns get unique dodge animation that reloads the clip (extremeli potent with sticky ammo) . also dont bother to use normal ammo its really weak not even worth using (unless you make really specific build ) usuali its best to specialize in 1 element , or you can use the superior element - explosion (sticky ammo)
I really don't get your confusion with Charge Blade. Takes 10 secs, if even that, to get heated then transfer it to your shield. The only part you got me on is learning the timing for Guard Points as its different with every monster.
As a CB main it’s actually not bad. The game tutorial makes it look super complex but if u just go into a hunt and try it and maybe watch a guide it’s pretty easy.

Zanny fr out here hitting for 50 raw cause hes wearing full tigrex lmao
Finally using my fav weapon
It'll be a cold day in hell when a Monster Hunter player actually encourages people to use the charge blade instead of scaring them away from it by making it sound way more complicated than it actually is
istg if he doesn't figure out elemental discharge with the swaxe
"every weapon in this game (monster hunter) could be the main weapon of an entire game just by itself"
- some dude (dont remember who)
i recommend trying them all a little bit, then keep narrowing it down to 1 or 2 weapons you enjoy.
Will Zanny play Armored Core VI ?
as a switch axe main
i am disappointed he barely used elemental discharge
9:27 actually a tigrexpert
Screw it I'll get the damn game and I'll try it out
Switch axes axe mode is good in rise it’s much slower in older mh game
i hope he plays rise after he finishes up with world
Zanny you gotta play monster Hunter rise it’s such a great game
I want to try Charge Blade so bad, but I'm gonna play MH4U soon after MHP3 since there are new weapons and skills to get on 2010's
man i wish i coulda been in that session, ive been swaxing since they introduced the weapon, i b out here chaining ZSD's back to back,a lso this mans doesnt wanna use chargeblade because of complexity but went for hunting horn which is arguably even more mechanically complex in how you use it effectively xD if yur gonna learn HH, do it in Rise, anyone can play HH in Rise xD
@zanny i had that same problem with connecting to friends how did u fix yours?
Zanny pls next video on trying new weapons, pld give the gun lance or lance a try 😊
Wtf he just… stumbled into Zinogre? Before postgame?
3:54
You can do that if you join a friend from a higher level, on my alt account I grinded velkhana in expeditions at MR 7
how the hell did zinogre just pop up in a normal quest
Man good ol monster hunter, was introuced to by my friends with world, got into switch axe, only use switch axe for half my gameplay, switches to great sword, main great sword till iceborne came, tries hammer, fall in love with hammer, tries long sword to awaken my inner weeb, realizes I'm a closet weeb so I went back to hammer.....
then finishes rise with hammer and gs only
can wait for another 10 years where sunbreak is finally on discount so i can finally play it
RWBY!
Charge blade isn’t that bad, it is literally just pretty easy once you play with it like once.
Have you ever tried Dauntless ?
I’m telling you for both axe and sword mode you want to spam o or b but for axe mode eventually use triangle or Y on axe mode after spamming b does a big ground pound, and you can only make the energy meter grow from sword mode and the meter is the one on the outside!!!
Hey Zanny do play with fans ever now and then
Peak entertainment 🙏
lobotomite weapon of choice
2:20 what is bro sharpening 💀
Nobody say anything about Wyvern Ignition
Zanny again saying charge blade is to advanced makes me proud of being a cb main but also kinda sad because he should give it a chance.
I wonder if Zanny use Gunlance.
Day 3 of asking zanny to play borderlands
