I wonder if Cleetus is finished with the smx motor? He knows it’s not Steve’s fault the engine had problems. It was a lack of maintenance from what I understand after watching Steve’s video. I hope he trades the used smx in for a new smx and Steve gives him a very detailed regimen of maintenance

Its the completely wrong engine for that build, not to mention the smx was the reason cleet couldnt run the classes and races he wanted. I love Steve but its just not happening. The Camaro will be a trailer princess that is towed to and from the pits and lanes and NEVER have a radiator... Oh and cleet was seen leaving proline two days ago 🤷♂️🤣

I love how Cleetus is helping lead the charge for revitalizing motorsports popularity. The entertainment value is drawing crowds, and crowds bring revenue, and revenue grows events, which brings more great racers and teams. I miss the packed stands and great times of years ago, and stuff like this is going to make it great again, and dare I say, better than ever. BTW, awesome work guys! True artists!

As a full time body tech, i can agree from here that i would not be able to wrap my head around making a 200mph body to extreme precision like you guys are doing. Good body work takes a long time, especially being one-off type of body working that is this dynamic and elaborate. I thoroughly enjoy learning about how you guys make this whole thing happen.

The reason why it's not a normal body shop is because it's not a body shop you guys are technically sculptors of cars technically it is a sculpture and you guys are artists trying to hit that perfection keep up the great work
If the final product was just that matte black it would be sick by itself, but with that paint job it's going to bring it to a whole new level... keep it up!

If a drag car destroys the body the rest of the car is typically in pretty bad shape.. they aren't like monster trucks where they tear up bodies at every event. They'd be in the hole big time lol

That body is a masterpiece. I have done body work, and I can say what y'all do is a completely different world. Basically, art in a form. I am excited to see the final form!
Currently work in a paint shop so I do have some understanding of working on stuff like this while different still understand the concept. As far as this being such a high quality peace where you don’t want to break through the primer because it’ll get hairy kind of like sanding plastic with course sandpaper. In order to protect yourself why not use 2 different colors of primer such as doing a coat of dark primer and coat if light primer then going back to the dark primer so you know how deep your actually cutting and when you need to start being more careful on blocking?
REGARDLESS of content, your channel, production, flow, information, polish, time lapse, etetetetetetetc.... With less followers than those rumdums at CJRC is a million times better!!!! THIS is a proper youtube video, under 15 minutes, no extra BS, no one rambling on about a pull tab for two hours. Great stuff, keep it coming and CONSISTENT, thats the key to viewers, consistency, good thumbnail, length of video, and content.... great B roll, and segways with music and behind the scenes. Good shit boys.
I did a few years of automotive collision and autobody in Highschool trade school program. I can only imagine the challenge it is to body-fill and sand on a foam mold like that. Definitely need a lot of patience, but the results so far are incredible. Really impressive work!
Such a sick project, really never knew about this process though, nobody really shows how it’s done, so I’m glad we get to see a good amount of the grunt work!

10 years ago we built a body for my Bonneville streamliner, The City of fBurbank. Did the foam and all, but hand laid the glass on the foam...no mold. Sanded the outside smooth removed the foam underneath, Bob's your Uncle. Finished product was and still is fabulous.
We’re focusing on what we can show for now. Always got “top secret” projects but we will be taking over UA-cam soon lol never a dull moment in our line of business 💪 stay tuned brother!

Car companies use clay to sculpt the cars. Such a work of art yet can produce panels quicker and cheaper than cnc foam blocks.
If the final product was just that matte black it would be sick by itself, but with that paint job it's going to bring it to a whole new level... keep it up!

Coremat.. Its like how I-beams work. you need your panel cross section taller and stiffer on the top and bottom layer to make it stiffer
