- An 18 mile backpacking trek along the Ice Age Trail with some fellow naturalists and outdoor enthusiasts! We did two segments, the Devil’s Lake State Park segment and Merrimac segment over two days in early October. We hiked through hours of rain, sunshine, blissful fall color, along 300 foot bluffs, and stopped everywhere along the way to observe and discuss all things nature!
Nice sis...thanks for sharing,God bles you
I ❤the Ice Age Trail (esp in fall). Moved south yrs ago and that trail is one of the things i miss SO much. Thank you for this video. 👍
Agreed, the Ice Age is a treasure! Thank you for watching!
Love our trails in Wisconsin
Everywhere on the Ice Age Trail is beautiful during the Autumn months. I’d like to head out to the St. Croix area on the trail to see all the Fall colors. I’ve never been to the part yet. Cool video! 🤙
The bluff overlook on to the tops of all those fall trees is gorgeous. Thanks for sharing.
I so agree! Best view of the trip!
Nice vid-good content-pleasing voice-soft on the eyes-late fall in WI=fun! Keep on truckin
Thank you so much!
Loved it! I'm thankful to see how you each enjoyed and dealt with your hike/weather. I have big plans myself!
Good friends and amazing scenery make it much more bearable! Have some good hikes planned!?
@@jlrobson1 Thousand Miler Wannabe here 🙋♀️ Currently walking a line between section hiking the IAT this season and next or working more this summer and planning out a thru hike in the next few years.
It was a treat to see the park and the Devil's Lake with all it's fall colors. I've been there but never during fall. Great video.
very much enjoyed this vlog,
Thank you Jim!
Dumb question lol, but did you all circle back to your car at the end?
Not a dumb question! This wasn’t a loop so we actually parked one car at the start and one at the finish!
@@jlrobson1 ahhh smart, that makes sense! Thanks 🏔 🥾 ⛺️ 🇺🇸 make some more vids, cool channel 🤙
@@theoff-gridchurch8272 thank you!!!! One coming soon :)
I hiked both those segments as part of a three day trip last Fall - Lodi Marsh to Devil's Lake. Absolutely beautiful. :)
Looks like a blast. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for a lovely hike. The quality of your camera work was surpassed only by the educational commentary explaining what you saw on your stroll. Learning new stuff is a bonus that motivates me to pay closer attention when I’m outside. I’ll be looking for the British Soldier lichen, among the other flora and fauna you presented.
Thank you Scott!
Great job on this! Looks like a fun group.
Thank you so much! They sure were a fun bunch :)
Loving the videos!
Nice hike! Very knowledgeable crew you had with ya. Too bad you got soaked the last day. Did you pass any backpacking sites in either segment? Or is it all campgrounds.
That time of year it was still so beautiful even in the rain! No backpacking sites that I saw, just campgrounds. Devils Lake has the IAT pass right through the campground!
Are you hiking the entire ice age trail? I swear i hiked past you and your dog on the arbor ridge segment in mid December.
I wish! Must be mine and my dogs twins, haven’t done that section yet! How is it?
Its a great section. There's a really cool log cabin.
