Takin me back to my childhood here. Reminds me of walking through the Kawi dealer in the early 90's daydreaming of having one of these. Nothing beats the late 80s early 90s color schemes.
Was just thinking the same, i used to go to the big boat shows with my father as a kid and they would always have the new line up of that years dirt bikes usually Kx's or Rm's, though-out the 90's , lead to a upgrade to a 92' kx 80 for me at 12.. thanks dad! 😀
Right on I'll never forget walkin into Zack's Cycle & Marine when I was 12 yrs old and seeing a full line-up of 1993 YZ's, RM's and KX's just sitting there to get picked up!
Bought mine over the Christmas holidays in 1990. This was the time that the factories started cutting back on their production to match demand more closely. This made finding any left over model deals harder to do. Great bike with good factory suspension 🤙
That was my first real dirt bike 1991 KX 250 rebuilt bottom to top bought it for $500 fixed it up sold on cycle trader for $2,000 then put it down payment on a new 2001 CR250 I'll never forget it!
'00-'03 was BEST yrs for CR250 before the end many say. Then RM250 was best from '06-08. YZ250 was solid '00 till NOW. Yamaha still sells new YZ250s at least! #Yamaha
@@Davido50 KTM still build and make well tuned 2-strokes from 50cc. all the way to 300cc. in SX, XC and XC-W. Also Husqvarna and GasGas which as we all know is under the KTM umbrella.
Sick with the graphics I love. Love those blue forks and handlebars.! They make the colors pop. Green paint is gorgeous too! Those KX's are fast! Almost too pretty too ride. Worth every penny!
What A Roaring Beauty of a KX250! I Absolutely love it! Starting a Full Restoration of my 1990 KX250. I've only rode it 21 times, each ride is Special. Buying Gold Rims and Full Sprocket set to start with new Dunlop tires. Then the Platitinum Pipe and Pro Circuit Exaust to go along with the Kawasaki Green Rear Fender and Radiator covers I've bought- Alot of Fun! Thanks for the Inspiration Kaplan.
Wow just wow I’ve spotted that KX in the background on a lot of your recent videos and was just waiting for this i have a 92 KDX 200 I’ve had for going a little over 20 years now was originally a Suzuki guy but after getting the KDX was just hooked i have the exact same fork’s but apart from those that KX is absolutely gorgeous I wish my bike looked as good not that it’s bad but I can see why they modelled the KDX 125 off that model KX if you put them side by side the KDX would be smaller but plastic’s wise exact. I’ve noticed on the Kawasaki’s up to 200 maybe the 220 I’d have to check they have that little box on the side if the cylinder sleeve but 250 and up they don’t it just says kips. I’ve always wondered why and if there’s any difference in the way the power valve works. Another great video and the KDX video how do you find these bikes in such amazing shape if I weren’t in Scotland 🏴 I’d love to have a look around your shop you are the definition of living the dream ML&R god has blessed you and your family stay safe and all the best buddy.
Suzuki & Kawasaki are great off rd bikes to this day! 2 of my favorite brands I've owned. More a Yamaha guy now tho..but the Austrian trio lookin BETTER & BETTER. 🇺🇸
Nothing better then the 90z graphex.. They really went above and beyond with the colors matching the performance at the time. Still looks great today compared to the "everything the same" stuff we get today.
Have a 1986 KX 250 sitting in my cellar I'm old man now! But in my younger days, I raced it many of times its one BADASS KAWASAKI, there's only one problem, this old man is afraid of it, That was king of the hill back in the day!
@@ryandeboer9584 I couldn't agree more! Throw out everything in the living room but 1 small but comfortable reclining chair and the rest of the space could be filled with the 500, 250 n 125 from this year! Might as well get the 80 and the 60 and KDX 200 from this year for the other rooms in the house........
Picked up one of these "Running" for £600. Everything needs attention. It's had a full engine rebuild Inc clutch, crank, cylinder sleeve and new piston to start. I've also had to repair the standard expansion chamber like you have done, as mint 90-91's are literally impossible to find👎 Also, did that come with a 'Danger Contains Asbestos' sticker on the headstock before restoring? I cringed removing the original for powdercoat prep!
No it doesn't.. how come my motor has the kips power valve... Is it a 125 motor. The bike is buried in my trailer right now. But it has a rectangle power valve on the side of the jug
I have a 91 125 in pristine all original even has stock tires. The gas tank is the only non original part. It has a oversize tank . I wonder what it's worth ? Had it since 1990
They had the best steel frames I still haven't taken to the aluminum frames idk I'd rather be able to fix my own bike without having a full on metal shop besides they look so much better the 90s bikes are my favorite they are what I envision when I think about dirtbikes and I will never like the 4 strokes they just don't have any personality or character sweet bike
I love to but i cant afford to trash them all. It takes hours to detail them after 1 thrash session. We bill our labor at 90 to 120 an hour. Creats more work $$$
It always makes me cringe when putting the bikes on them stands with the metal nipples on scratching them frame rails.. I glue carpet tiles to the top of my stands 👌

The Japanese, especially Kawasaki, Yamaha, and Suzuki, went wild with the graphics, and used pink quite a bit, street and dirt. I loved it.
Man oh man what a looker , Kawi’s from that time frame are my favorite.
Best looking graphics ever on a KX! 1990-1996
Yes
Hands down the best looking and performing bike I ever owned and raced! A classic
My brother and I got brand new kx 80s Xmas of 85. I'm looking at a kx 250 on Facebook right now. That is one nice bike! You rock bro.
Now that’s what I’m talking about my favorite bike ever just love um back in the day when bikes had character

Yes before early 90s recession. Then 08/09 recession decimated new dirtbike & sport quads sales. Many models discontinued then never came bk.

That green machine right there started my love of moto. Perfect Bike.
Remember ordering those graphics for my old KX80. Somehow felt faster after 😜
I did the same thing brother!
Green machines have awakened! You should try chasing down some more KX 500's..

The cylinders for them are extremely hard to find that year was a one off 💯💯
The first 2 stroke that I looped out on I was a bit too eager on the throttle to say the least. Great work Kap keep it up 💪

I did a 90 a few years back and I can verify how hard it is to get parts for 90-91 kx250s lol.
Hats off guys! Another sick piece!! Big up!!
Bought one brand new off the showroom floor for around $3,600 actually bought two & it cost less than one new 450 today
That would be around $8500 in today's dollars.
Yeah it's crazy how cheap bikes used to be . Now there as much as a car.

I had a 92 when I was a kid. Best bike I ever had
Love the Kawasaki KX smokers! I had a 1984 Kawasaki 250 Tecate that ran very well.. Really miss the Kawasaki 2-stroke power!
Very nice bike. I had the 125. Fyi, the rear brakeline is on upside down. 😉
Lol 👍
That bikes so sick love it
Beautiful bike
I've seen a few of these went the boys go out stunt ridin in Orlando. Tons of older 2 strokes stuffed away in garages in the hood.
Very nice ken sr my cousin had one of these bike ripped.
Clean!
SICK 🤘🤘
That green mangler is my favorite all bikes
I spent hours on this thing polishing every component
Quality 👌🏻
TWO STROKES 4 EVER BABY!!

Tell me something after your been ripping on the 500 then swing your leg over something smaller do you feel like you can rip the shit out of it. I do
You can see when he's on a 125 it's like throwing a mountain bike around. Everyone should warm up on a 500 ! 🤘
Yes!

Have you been hacked?
Why do American's refer to petrol as gas? It's liquid not gas.
Gas ⛽️ is short for Gasoline…
