Thank you, Professor. These tutorial videos are very instructive, I may have to repeat them several times until I can get used to them. I have a question, I've been watching 20 videos, the question is how many I would have to watch for the week.
Thank you professor for these lessons. But can you do a video on how to add captions to a specific element (table is my case) knowing that there can be many elements on the same page, that would be appreciated. Edited: Btw I don't know if this is even possible.
Hey Alex, I made a video on adding captions to a picture or table. Let me know if this one helps you out or if you're looking for something else: ua-cam.com/video/EvofHP-Hnkc/v-deo.html
Thank you, I already knew this. My problem is that the font size does not reflect what is being typed. Usually 11 looks like this. On my word page it is smaller.
I'd like a similar tutorial for changing the style template(s) for increased sizes within an entire style used in the current or future documents. I need to convert or create Normal size (10pt to 12pt) documents for a family member that had a detached retina so lost central vision in one eye. Customized styles seemed a quick way to change to different font attributes (bold, italic, etc. from 10pt or 12pt to 18pt or 24pt san serif) which she can read without assistance or a magnifying glass. I used to know how to do it but haven't created custom styles in ages. Also forgot how to save those customized styles in a template or import them into a document. There was an option for Word to watch for changes made in a document's style section and have Word either update the style or keep the isolated change without updating the underlying style. TIA.
Very well explained, thank you. Question: what do those numbers stand for? I can tell it's not millimeters or so. 11 is my default size, but a certain department is asking for "type size no smaller than pica". Is 11 what they would call "pica"?
Thank you for watching, Annelies. A font is often measured in pt (points). Points dictate the height of the lettering. There are approximately 72 (72.272) points in one inch or 2.54 cm. For example, the font size 72 would be about one inch tall, and 36 would be about a half of an inch. The image shows examples of font sizes ranging from 6 pt to 84 pt. In computing, font sizes are also measured as px (pixels) and in pc (pica). Pica - Unit of measure that is 1/6th of an inch. Pica (pc) is commonly used in computer printing. I hope this helps.
Hi professor Morgan, thanks so much for your reply. Could I ask you 1 more question? Is Calibri 11 indeed "No smaller than pica"? Or is it Calibri 12? Or maybe 14? What is the smallest still considered "pica"? Thank you so much! Annelies
Fantastic,If only i had seen this last year ,Anyone know if i can reduce just the font size of numbers in a document without altering the text ? ie i,m writing genesis and i just want to reduce the font of numbers as in 1In the beginning of Elahym preparing the heavens and the earth - 2 the earth
Thank you for these very helpful font tips with some great added tips. It would be better if you talked a speck slower as I am a beginner. I think that I would be able to capture the content more easily. Again thanks!
What are the commends for change font size i another program? Say eg. in Foobar2000 with plugin "Lyric Show Panel 3", the default command for opening Wordpad are "wordpad.exe %f" for wordpad to opening a text-file. But could be nice to know how to change font, fontsize, and color with various %-command if possible. Thanks.
Hi Jehanzeb, This video covers what I saw on the MOS Exam for Word: ua-cam.com/video/-8d7k7JNN_k/v-deo.html As far as the exam goes, it's 50 minutes long and usually about 5-7 projects covering 5-7 tasks in each of them. I hope this helps you out.
Professor Adam Morgan yes it’s helpful I will be giving exam of MOS exam that’s why I was asking and just one more thing will be there be mcqs? Or just tasks And also tell about excel guide? And difference core and expert?
Hi Jehanzeb, The exam is task based. I am not sure about which guide you're referring to. I don't typically use guides in my classes. My students use textbooks and GMetrix for the most part. The standard MOS exams cover the basics and moderately difficult tasks of the application, with a few advanced topics. MOS Expert covers more complicated tasks, and this exam is designed for experienced users in the progam. I hope this helps, have a nice day.

Hi Jessica, Change the Normal Style in your Word document and set it to 'New Documents Based on this Template' for a new blank document so that it uses that size for each new document you create. I hope this helps. How to Modify Styles: ua-cam.com/video/m9mx3CnA6As/v-deo.html
Hi Nepali, Highlight the text you want to change. Go to the Home Tab, Font Group and click on the actual font size (the 8 or 11) and it'll highlight. From there, type the size you want and press enter and it'll change the text.
