    Absolutely. Neuroplasticity works two ways - it can help you or hurt you. Before I lost myself in the trauma and drama of the music industry, I could predict that I would be awesome, and create something amazing with my voice. When I started to lose myself I could predict that I would strain, and lose my voice. I was always correct. Either way. Thanks so much for your help.

    I really appreciate your breakdown between the mind and voice. I've been singing for nearly 13 years. Started around 12 yrs old and quickly found your videos which helped me immensely recognized my voice and gain the discipline of warm-ups and exercises. I've had no formal training (yet) but have a come along way and I'm proud of my abilities. The hurdle of a maturing voice throughout these 13 years has been tough but always remains my passion. Im setting up for the near future to really allow myself the ability to have a vocal coach and explore a future in this. I just wanted to say thanks for sharing your wisdom and for all the videos throughout the years as they've made a big impact in my life and resonate in my mind to this day.

    Really great video. This helped some things congeal for me in terms of my own vocal progression and growth, and I would love to learn even further how the hands can be used to sculpt my sound and create healthy functional habits that work with my body and develop the things that still need developing. I jut my jaw a lot, and have been struggling with learning how to not do that. Do you have any advice, or could you make a short video about it? I know posture is key and my chest weighs me down/forward, so it's hard to kind of fight that and not end up leaning forward when I'm practicing especially when I'm holding an instrument as well. I have had TMJ clicking and locking since puberty and it's somewhat better now, but I still am seeking solutions for how to correct my posture and bring that posture naturally into my singing exercises and practice. Any advice you have about jaw would be welcome.

    Is singing really that complicated.
    When someone sings say in the shower, they probably are not a singer as we who sing class ourselves they just sing free and easy the song they have just heard on the radio or something from the past.Iv'e on occasion heard my wife singing in this way when she thought no one was around, she sounds not bad at all but put a mic in her hand she just tightens and can't sing a note.Is this what you are getting at is it really a state of mind, or can anyone learn to sing in a good way.

    • @voicelessondotcom
      @voicelessondotcom  2 роки тому +1

      No - it's not singing that's complicated - it's people! Or more accurately - our culture. Anyone can learn to defeat their inhibitions. It's just a lot easier earlier in life when mindsets are more optimistic.

    I think you are great. I have been singing to work through my speech impairments, and found you and love ding your practices. But the thing about you never met someone with muscle tension that didn’t have permission I would like to query you on if you’ve ever taught someone who has neuro spasticity, sensory impairments, etc?
    Because I have functional and organic neurological impairment to my speech and both have psychological components to management, but even the functional issues are sometimes more … like a glitch for lack of better word. I have spasticity that definitely has psycholgical triggers that nonetheless is not a matter of permission, just saying.
    I think you are bright, but you might be confusing people who are very scared and don’t understand what you mean, because you are really talking about habits more than pathologies I feel.

    • @voicelessondotcom
      @voicelessondotcom  Рік тому +1

      Lot's of people don't understand what I mean! I'm OK with that. Just like lots of people are scared when they don't really understand what a doctor just explained to them! So, I am always reminding those I work with that I am not a doctor. My tools are hope and possibility in order to encourage the brain's plasticity to work towards a desired outcome. When a doctor makes a diagnosis of spasticity, or impingement, there is a finality to the condition due to the nature of neurological disorders. However, there is still much we don't know about the brain. And so we must keep watch that our perspective on healing doesn't become self-limiting. Just like it's a fairly new therapeutic approach for you to work through speech impairments via singing because speech and singing travel via different neuropaths to the same muscles. And I am a tireless advocate for encouraging folks with organic impairments that are of no fault of their behavior (faulty operations, strokes, spasmodic dysphonia, traumas) to continue "asking" for a better outcome. It matters. Your brain is always listening - if not always able.

    Greetings my friend!!....In 2017, the music world was shocked by the bursting onto the scene of a 22-year-old singer named Dimash Kudaibergen, who performed on the famous Chinese competition show for professional singers called “The Singer”... It was just It was necessary for this young man to make his first appearance, making a cover of one of the most difficult songs in the world, a famous French composition called "S.O.S. D'un Terrien En Détresse", to be considered from that moment on as the best singer in the entire planet....No one in the musical field had ever seen a human being, being able to reach vocal ranges above 7 octaves and several semitones, that is, all 88 keys of a digital piano, which reaches a little more than 7 octaves and as if that weren't enough, sing the more than 12 languages...Since then all kinds of experts (Vocal coach, analysts, singing teachers, youtubers, reactors, etc.) have dedicated themselves to reviewing their presentations to try to understand how someone can sing this way...The incredible thing is that that presentation in China was in 2017 and 5 years have passed since then, but what Dimash has done in these 5 years is to further improve his wide vocal range, which is currently practically above of the 8 octaves... The Covid pandemic stopped his concerts worldwide, all with tickets sold in just seconds, via the internet, but at the same time it ended up catapulting him to the top of popularity worldwide...Anyway, since I think you are one of those reactors who have not yet met this impressive singer, here is the link of that presentation in China in 2017, with the song S.O.S. and I would like you to mention my name as the person who recommended him to you...You have to be prepared because you ar going to receive an avalanche of views, comments and new subscribers....I leave you one more recent video than the others, so it does not have the same number of views as the previous ones, which have millions of views, but it is a more complete video, with an intro, subtitles in several languages and with the improved quality of audio and sound....ua-cam.com/video/bDX3FhmyNac/v-deo.html

    Most of my family members (paternal) were singers, and most of my family members (maternal) were dancers. I spent more time around my maternal family and of course, being a music lover, became a good dancer, but, I also wanted to sing. I had a problem, anything I want to do I needed as much learning material or the practical application will not work. Because of the internet, I can now, at the age of 69 (I started using online programs at 65) I can sing. I use your UA-cam programs for warmup and training. What you have just presented was what I had to deal with after the learning material was studied. I've recently jumped back into playing guitar and so I had let up on singing for about 2 months. When I was re-studying guitar phrasing I realized what I had left out of my singing, emotions and at the same time, I realized my mind wasn't on the message of the song but on the technical part of singing. I'm learning to let go and I've seen immediate results. Thank you for bringing this more into focus.
