A very productive morning.Watching from the U.K. my nearest beach Is 110 miles away, so I mainly do fields, but plan to hit the beach in July. (Holiday) Good video from you. Thanks
Thank you! I've visited England years ago as a child and I watch a lot of UK TV shows, I'm a big fan! Would love to get back there one day and do some detecting!
Thanks! We may not have a lot of the exciting stuff that people get elsewhere in the world, but there's still lots of cool stuff to find if you're persistent!
If someone happened to be watching “ your beach finds “ & recognized an item would you be nice enough to give back ? Like an expensive ring ( I ask myself) why in the world would you wear stuff like to the beach?
If they could describe the item before they saw it I would of course return it to them, and if it was something personalized or special like a class ring or something engraved with personal information I'd do my best to locate the owner. I've tried to find a few cellphones for people who've come up to me on the beach but so far haven't had success helping anyone yet.
That quarter is indeed silver, Pre67 quarters are 80% silver 67 quarters can be 80% or 50%, both were made 68 quarters are either 50% or 100% nickel That Looney if it sounded good was probably pre 2012, they were mostly nickel, but with varying compositions, some 99% nickel some 91% nickel Post 2012 loonies are made of steel and steel coins sound like bottle caps Loonies and toonies post 2012 are steel Nickels, dimes and quarters post 2000 are steel Thats why older coins are in good shape and newer ones are wasted
@@ScoopyJoe theresno rhyme or reason to it, I found a silver dime with a modern quarter and nickel under the swings, some little brat must have had it in thier pocket, I search through whole $250 boxes if dimes and only find 1-2, ive never gotten one in my store change
Acid test failed platinum unfortunately, tested the hardness against some stainless rings and it's about identical, looks like it's just stainless after all.
Awesome hunt brother! Thanks for the mention, all the best & HH!
Thanks man! This hobby might turn me into a morning person if I keep finding gold at dawn like this haha.

Quite a few beaches here but not many fields, haha every area has its own charm but I'm jealous of the things you can find over in the UK.
Well Scoopy Joe happy I found you. Since I’m in the Vancouver area. Enjoyed your video
Thank you!
Fantastic to be on the gold. Well done watching from Lancashire, England. Visited Canada one years ago, Guelph and Toronto. Best wishes on the next.

@@ScoopyJoe Have you watch TV show the Detectorists? If not you are in for a treat. Best wishes.
It's one of my favourites! I've rewatched it a few times haha.
Cool !
Thanks Linda!
I thought that voice was familiar, cool channel cous!
omg, hey! How've you been?
Great hunt, nice to see more people detecting in bc.

I’m happy to find a metal detector person working the beaches I’m familiar with.
We've got a lot of interesting small beaches, I hope to get to them all eventually!
Nice finds 👍
Thanks!
nice hunt the bobcat is a nice find dont see too many in the wild anymore. 1967 was he last year for 80% silver here in Canada.
Thanks! Yeah that was a surprising find at such a heavily hunted beach, I wonder if it was somehow a relatively fresh drop.
@@ScoopyJoe well your 1 up on me i still have not found a silver coin i came close with a 68 quarter but no silver yet. Keep trying I guess cheers
@@mapleleafmetals814 They're out there, you'll get them eventually! Happy Hunting!
@@mapleleafmetals814 1967 could be 80% or 50%, some dealers buy them in the middle at 65%
Nice finds, greetings from south africa

@@ScoopyJoe that’s very nice of you didn’t mean to put you in a spot !
It would be nice if you let us know what number came up on your detector!
Yes good point! I'll try to remember to do that more often. Thanks!

Thanks for the info! I was surprised to find a silver target in such good shape so shallow on the beach, had to have been a fresh drop somehow.

@@digginggopher Yeah I've found way more shallow silver coins than I ever thought I would in Vancouver!
👍👍
The quarter is 80% silver. With the bobcat on it.
An exciting and unexpected thing to find so shallow at English Bay for sure!
Heavy unmarked ring could be white gold or even platinum!
I hadn't gotten around to acid testing it yet but I definitely will and report back!
Acid test failed platinum unfortunately, tested the hardness against some stainless rings and it's about identical, looks like it's just stainless after all.
@@ScoopyJoe ah darn, I was hopeful for you. That’s alright you’ll get em next time!
@@Eb_mdtect One gold and some silver was plenty for that day already! I'm getting spoiled, haha.
That could be a palladium ring. Valuable
Sup..I’m in ..new sub..
Welcome aboard!
I get 8 for white gold 😊😊
I had high hopes but after scratch and acid testing it looks like just stainless steel.
1967 quarter is silver.
67 is 40% silver.65 and older are 90% silver in quarters
